I recently attempted to purchase a vehicle from Hilton Garage Ltd and unfortunately experienced a number of serious issues that have left me extremely disappointed with the level of professionalism and transparency shown.Despite being assured that the MG4 Reg MV25MRU I reserved had no known issues, I was later informed after paying a deposit and later the full.amount that the vehicle had a windscreen leak, possible water ingress, and water damage by the collections manager . This information was never disclosed during the sales process, even though I specifically asked about the vehicle’s condition and history s .Communication from the dealership was also inconsistent. Their Collections Manager advised that the windscreen would not be replaced until a later date, yet another staff member claimed it had already been fitted. This contradiction made it very difficult to trust the information being provided.When I exercised my legal right to reject the vehicle due to undisclosed defects
This left me feeling that the dealership was not acting fairly or in accordance with consumer protection legislation.
Overall, my experience with Hilton Garage is poor, marked by lack of transparency, contradictory information.
I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle here to proceed with caution and ensure all information is fully disclosed in writing.
We have now received a full refund.

Charlotte, we need to correct several significant inaccuracies in this review.
You raised the damp smell yourself during the sales process — that concern was noted at the time, not concealed from you. As a result, the vehicle was smoke-tested and the windscreen was replaced. The contradiction you describe around windscreen timing relates to work being completed as part of that preparation process, not conflicting stories about an undisclosed fault. You also signed terms confirming the vehicle would be prepared and ready for collection — that is the agreement under which the work was carried out.
On the deposit: this is not being withheld as a penalty. The £499 is being reviewed as part of the overall settlement, and if it remains outstanding, that is a processing matter, not a refusal. If the Ombudsman is now involved, we will engage with that process directly and fully — the documentation on our side is clear.

Quick, efficient, listening
Priced correctly, vehicle ready quickly.
Was initially in contact with a different sales rep, which was not as easy as Tom. On the first test drive the EV we bought was at a low state of charge and power was limited. I had to insist a bit to get it charged and was asked for a further deposit (non refundable) and come back for a second test drive. I was then transferred to Tom and my experience was instantly much better.
Would recommend this garage, as it was overall a good experience.

PHONE RECEPTIONISTS DON'T WANT TO SELL CARS.
Phone reception staff claim they know about cars because they "work at a car dealership", however, just because you work at McDonald's doesn't mean you know about food🤦😂 The fact is that the phone reception staff are just mere call centre workers that couldn't answer the simplest questions about a vehicle. They were rude and deliberately evasive with their answers, which has ultimately resulted in a loss of sales and a negative Trustpilot review. If I'd read all of the negative Trustpilot reviews I'd have never attempted to have dealings with this garage in the first place, so it looks like I dodged a bullet there! Well done to the phone receptionists (slow clap), a credit to your employer I'm sure.
IN RESPONSE TO HILTON GARAGE: Firstly, I suggest that you listen to the recorded phone calls. You'll then see that not only were your phone receptionists the epitome of bad attitude, rude and also evasive, but after they claimed that they could answer all questions about the car, they then admitted that they hadn't even seen the car!🤦 What a complete waste of time talking to a pair of gaslighting, clueless, fantacists. When I asked to speak to a male member of the sales team, who could hopefully answer some essential simple questions that this delightful pair were unable to do, one of your phone receptionists actually PRETENDED to be a male, when clearly she wasn't, this was UTTERLY PREPOSTEROUS🤦😆😂 I've never in my life experienced such a farcical phone call as whenever I asked a question, she would just bizarrely repeat "I'm not answering your test" I mean, it's not a test, it's your job😣🤦😂 She claimed that she would handle the sales questions and then in the same breath refused to do so...the mind boggles🤦 hence the review title 'Phone receptionists don't want to sell cars'. Speaking to these two intellectually challenged individuals I got the feeling that I'd receive more enlightenment asking a Primark employee about Haute Couture😆😂😂 Good luck with the business, I've a feeling you're going to need it. Maurice, we need to address what actually happened here, because the review doesn't reflect it accurately.
Two members of our team both attempted to help you during this call. One was straightforward with you; she does work within our car dealership and was doing her best to assist. What she encountered was a customer who referred to the other member of staff as "stupid," questioned whether she knew anything about cars because of her role, and then made it clear he didn't want to speak to a woman and insisted on being transferred to a male member of staff. That's the context behind this review.
Our phone team are not required to have mechanical expertise to be doing their jobs well, and the way both of them were spoken to was not acceptable. We'd push back firmly on the characterisation of them as rude or evasive — they were dealing with a difficult caller and handling it professionally.

Smooth Sales Experience - Special Mention to Moiz
