Image-Lines "Fruity Loops" is not my favorite DAW for writing a tune from start to finish. I prefer a more intuitive left to right thing compared to FL's idea of building sections, and then arranging the sections.

BUT...
Straight out of the box it sounds better than any other DAW i have ever used. I don't know what their secret sauce is, but it works. And in every other respect (other than the one gripe i started with), Fruity Loops is by far the most fun, most intuitive, and just damn BEST DAW i have ever tried. Not only that, but the newer versions now work seamlessly in Linux (distro AV-MX 21.1) with little or no tweaking needed. And on top of that, Fruity Loops can also be used as a plug-in inside other DAWs too. So, best of both worlds then.

If only they could sort out the arrangement screens to make it more conventional, then i wouldn't need any other DAW ever. And even if they don't, when using FL to sequence my hardware, then pattern based is exactly what you want anyway.

But most of all, the free updates for life will save you THOUSANDS of pounds, over just a few years. Many rival DAWs not only expect you to spend hundreds of pounds on updates every couple of years, but some also want as much as £20 a month subscription on top of that to accesses their better features!

And yes, i know that there are DAWs that are free, or almost free. But not one of them i have tried is even 1% as much fun, or sounds as good, as Fruity Loops. Just use something else (Ableton, Reaper, Ardour, whatever) to arrange the results if you need to.

Worst customer service Ever. For such a big company too. cant believe how bad they where. Not even Copy&Paste, just Talking Rubbish. obviously employing other countries to do the customer service.

Anyone thought about suing this company? If you buy their products and they still don't give you technical support/customer support this is against the agreement right? They Revoked my license after i put a claim since the way they treated and forced me into buying their software was digusting. Beware you can't use samples or loops with the cheapest version(I did that) So i payed 80$ more in taxes almost. Don't think they will ever give clarity they just ignore emails and leave you in the cold while holding your money

I bought fl studio a few months back, but am constantly running into glitches which freeze the computer causing crashes. I also hate that fl has become a marketplace platform where it seems that every plugin you try requires another purchase. It's sickening that this hobby has become so expensive. Shame on you

loads ur project and all ur stuff is gone so u have to remake everything again

Turns out that the Fruity version has very little functionality, and 'upgrading' to a licensed version of FL Studio from the demo version means that the product overall is less capable than before. BE AWARE that the demo version is close to being equavelent to the All Plugins Edition apart from the ability to save and restore your work (this is infact explained somewhere on the FL Studion website).

I contacted Image Line via their support page and received a reply explaining the licensing model. The support was polite and timely, so no complaints there.

I don't understand the negative reviews; I've been using Fl studio since 2013 and can assure you that it's well worth the money. I tried Ableton but didn't care for it; I'd grown accustomed to FL Studio's loop system.

What a magnificent creation they have given the world. I use it 12 hours a day, every day. It's great fun for me! It was something I told all of my friends about. They enjoy it as well. They also received the starter packets. We are now all making music together and living in peace. see what I done there, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Anyway, it's a fantastic company with a fantastic product. I can't say enough good things about them!

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE !! They have never responded Since 3 Years

This is not a paid review, I want to make that clear. I have never even heard of Image Line, until I wanted to buy FL Studio back in April.

I can say without a doubt, you absolutely don't need anything else if you know sound design. I only bought NEXUS3 (VST) because I didn't want to learn sound design. FL Studio, in my opinion, is better than Ableton because FL Studio gives you free lifetime updates, provided you bought a version of Fruity Loops when they started doing this policy.

I am telling you, if you want to buy FL Studio, please, for the love of all things, buy the All Plugins edition. I don't even use all the plugins in the All Plugins edition, but you legit don't need anything else after that. It comes with EVERY plugin in the DAW, ranging from distortion, reverb, dynamics, compression, EQs, and all the synths you need from every genre of music.

You are not limited to anything with the All Plugins Edition, you have EVERYTHING that you need.

Not to mention, if you try to upgrade to the All Plugins edition later it actually costs MORE than just buying it straight up the first time.

I want to give a little disclaimer though, a lot of music production tutorials out there will be using VST (external plugins), so unless you don't know sound design, I highly recommend, you learn every expect of the DAW. You don't need Sylenth1, Sawer does the same thing, you don't NEED Serum, Harmour does the same thing. For the love of all things, if you're going to buy Nexus, at least take a look at Sytrus, it has the same exact nobs as all the other Synths in the world. You just have to play with it a bit.

If you are interested in music production and sound design, I followed this YouTube tutorial series by this YouTuber named "Utterfly" he has a 63 video tutorial series on how to make music and goes from the very beginning to the very end of music production, and it's FREE. After watching this series, I completed my first song "You", my artist name is Auccuatt if you wanna search "Auccuatt - You", I uploaded it to Label Radar and it already wants to be promoted by a Turkish music promoter (8D Songs) on YouTube with 600K+ subscribers.

If you have the desire to make music, EVEN if you just want to do it as a hobby. Buy Image Line's FL Studio. Don't buy anything else. Plain and simple.

Had an issue with one of their products after not even using it. Their attitude was terrible for a company in 2021. Once they have your money, they keep it.

Wonderful customer service, I bought the wrong version of fruity loops and they gave me a refund for the previous version once I bought and registered the version I actually needed, polite and courteous, greatly appreciated, thanks!

My credit card was fraudulently used for a number of online purchases including one at image-line. Whilst most vendors reversed the transactions, image-line’s response was quite rude. Basically “we’ve got your money so screw you”. Ultimately visa will refund me either way but the attitude was appalling

Great product, they just need actual customer support as opposed to a ridiculous forum.

The customer support is TERRIBLE. I have contacted them a few times reguarding license problems and they have had the wordt service i’ve ever experinced. They accused me for several things such as using other peoples accounts, and when ive been trying to explain the situation they have just answered with pasting theyre license guidlines not trying to solve the issue AT ALL. They also ignore emails and i wonder if they even read what you type.

Imagine you buying their products and still they dont care about trying to help you. I wouldnt do any kind of purchase from this company until they take responsability for their customers product related concerns. And i recommend that you dont purchase from them.

Bought my friend a license for his birthday and accidentally redeemed the code on my account. After kindly asking for help and acknowledge our mistake there were no help from the support team. Instead they insisted that we were sharing accounts and that they will no longer respond to the issue. I now have two fl licenses and zero respect for this dirty company... Great software and all that but if ur having technical difficulties they will try their best to do nothing.
