I've been donating funds to help people around the world for at least 10 years. I started giving through my employer, HP. I enjoy helping people which allows them to fulfill their dreams and ambitions. I've been focusing on helping refugees but there are so many others in the Kiva program that are provided for also, through the generosity of all who give to Kiva. I just added more to my donation this month so I could give to more people.

Kiva has been making small loans to individuals and groups for several years now, and I've made scores of small loans during that time. Almost all of the loans I've made have been paid back...back to Kiva...and that allows me to lend again..each time with a little more out of my pocket. I feel pretty good, knowing that $25 or $50 has made a small difference in someone's life. Kiva keeps me in touch with a wider world,

I've made these loans for years. Repayment is slow, but these are small-time borrowers and that's to be expected. I always roll it over and make another loan.

Being able to select those you wish to loan to by gender, country, and occupation really helps relate to those who are receiving the benefits. Having news when they are paying off the loan gives a sense that you’ve done something to really help them.

I have been using Kiva for many years, and I find the site easy to use and very informative about the people I might loan to.
I loan exclusively to women, and I have never had a borrower default on her loan.
As the payments add up in my account I turn around and re-loan to another woman.
It makes me feel so good to know that I’m helping a woman improve her business and support her family and her community.

Kiva is easy, fun, inexpensive, and does incredible good in communities around the world. Kiva is in the "Empowerment Business." By helping people all over the world to start and/or expand their small business also helps each and every community within which Kiva loans are working.

I am easily able to fund individual projects and help people in my chosen region and field. I like getting information when the loan is being paid off. I also like that I get incentives to make additional donations. I feel that a little of my money is going a long way towards helping others. I am very satisfied with Kiva and highly recommend it to others.

Kiva makes a big difference. It is effective in its mission and changes lives for the better.

I have been a Kiva lender since 2014. Kiva provides me with the opportunity to learn about individuals across the globe, their challenges, their dreams, their eagerness to improve their livelihoods and gives me the ability to make an impact with my donation.

I really like the platform and concept and have lent money to people all over the world making me feel like I am having a somewhat positive impact.

However I was recently sent an email offering lending credit in exchange for a donation. When I donated I got a message essentially saying "sorry, we've pulled that promotion now" which I see as deeply insulting. I'll continue to lend the credit I have on the platform but it has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Been with Kiva for many years. Helped provide a better life for many people worldwide. Try it you will be a better human.

Kiva provides great information up front about how their programs work and the associated costs to the lender. I love that I have the ability to review all loan requests or filter them to suit my interests. I feel confident that Kiva is working with their lending partners to make the most of the micro-loan monies I can provide, and I don’t feel pressured to spend more than I’m comfortable with.

I have been a Kiva member for 10 years. The fact that your $25 is available over and over again to reinvest is the big plus.

Very easy & enjoyable experience. It is great to know where your donation goes.
