Kiva is an awesome organization. It gives small donors and borrowers the opportunity to provide and receive funding between people who otherwise could probably not otherwise participate in access to funding. The minimum loan commitment for individual lenders is $25. This makes it possible to participate at a level that fits their budgets, and to chose borrowers that inspire them to lend.

I feel so good inside knowing I'm helping people who don't have much money realize their dreams for having a better life

Kiva makes it easy to make a difference in deserving peoples lives by pooling your modest loan with others to attain a lending goal. By relenting the repaid loans you can touch other lives as well.

When I go to sleep at night, I do so in a safe, warm/cool, dry house on a comfortable mattress. Not everyone in this world is so fortunate. Every Great teacher, philosopher, visionary, has stressed the need for All of us to help our fellow World citizens, no exceptions. Kiva gives me the opportunity to extend a kindness, in the form of a loan, to fellow World citizens who benefit greatly. Of all the investments I have made over my 90 years, the investments in Kiva, have given me the greatest return in satisfaction.

They do the background "scut work" to find, recommend and follow-up on loan-needy prospects, then follow-through by managing the cross-border financial work of small amount transactions (loans out/ payments back in) through small "overhead charges to the lenders.

I have been making loans through Kiva since 2012 and have had only one borrow default. I enjoy the opportunity to relend to new borrowers as my other loans are repaid. I especially love being able to help folks who would otherwise be ignored by the business world and I constantly recommend Kiva to new lenders.

Kiva is wonderful. See a face that looks like you could give a hand up. Someone who has no chance to get a bank loan, maybe raising children on their own and striving to improve their lives. Kiva makes my heart smile that I can spread some humanity far across the globe and give hope by sacrificing a couple of my coffee breaks.

I love giving through Kiva. They are very transparent about where your donation goes and I love that I can filter and pick specific people and business to which I can lend money. The updates are great as well. I feel like I am actually making a difference!
