Very difficult to cancel – £330 in unexpected membership fees
I would give LOQBOX 1 star based on my experience.
The biggest issue is how difficult it is to understand and cancel the paid membership. I closed the LOQBOX products I was using and genuinely believed that my paid relationship with LOQBOX had ended. However, the separate membership continued and I later discovered that I had been charged around £330 in ongoing fees.
In my experience, the cancellation/downgrade process is not clear enough. It is very easy to think you have cancelled LOQBOX when in fact you have only closed an individual product, while the paid membership continues in the background. Finding the correct section to downgrade the membership is unnecessarily difficult.
When I contacted LOQBOX and asked for a refund, I was told that the charges were valid because the membership was technically still active.
For a service connected with financial wellbeing and credit building, I would expect much clearer communication around recurring fees, separate products, and cancellation.
My advice to other customers: if you think you have cancelled LOQBOX, double-check your membership page and your bank statements very carefully.

We would like to clarify how closing Loqbox features and Membership works.
Loqbox Membership and individual features such as Save and Grow are separate. This means that closing Save or Grow does not automatically cancel the Membership, and each feature must be cancelled separately.
When Grow is closed, this is explained on screen, including that the Membership fee will begin to be collected weekly from the registered card instead of monthly through Grow. We also send a confirmation email explaining this change.
We appreciate that you believed you had cancelled everything, and we have contacted you directly to explain the charges and offer a resolution.
