Informative and approachable vets reception also helpful

The welcome was perfect - I even had my dog's twin brother with us (not a Medivet patient - yet!) and we were all greeted with super-warmth.

Alan, an avian vet is exceptional. A most knowledgeable, kind and professional individual. Friendly and so very helpful. I felt just as cared for as my pet bird does.

My experience has always been a good one. But as my beautiful boy is now 15 years old now it is even more important that both he and I feel looked after and heard. The vet I see has always been kind, caring and knowledgeable as to what we both need. From medication to check ups, she's is always kind and caring and for that both Shadow and I are extremely grateful!

A warm welcome by a cheery face when you open the door, puts any pet owner at ease when visiting the vet’s, helping to calm your pet. This is exactly what I experienced today. On time too! Well done 🙂

I was met by name by the receptionist i believe her name was Kim. She was very friendly and even gave my dog a treat, he is xl bully and alot of people prefer to stay away.

My consultation went really well with the surgeon, got all the answers I needed for my pet, and was booked in for surgery for a few days time. Very friendly and reassuring.

The lady on reception is entirely professional and entirely lovely at once. Clearly an animal lover and with excellent human skills too.

My dog begins to pull heavily on his lead when he realises that we are on our way to Medivet. He loves it there because the Medivet team love him.

My cat has been poorly for over a week and spent 2 nights with the vet at Sidcup. Sandra is the most supportive and caring vet I’ve ever met and her continued support through the whole process, at anytime I needed it, was second to none. The reception staff are polite, caring and always willing to help, a great team and a well deserved 5 star review

How I detest the corporate entity Medivet. While the vets themselves might be kind, prescritions prices are four or five times higher than can be found online, and customers have to pay £25 just a prescrition itself. I recently paid over £39 pounds for four pills, which were list as being £11.95 online. Their motto "Always There" should be changed to "Always There for Your Money." And insidiously, they have taken over all the private vets in my community. There are no longer any independent vets within a reasonable distance. Owned by a business conglomerate, Medivet doesn't care about helping you or your pet; they only care about their bottom line. Disgusting.

All staff are always very welcoming and friendly, and the vet puts my dog at ease.

We took our cat in for a lump he had. Amber at Risedale Road Hemel Hempstead Branch was so personable and attentive. She has a caring nature for the animals and their owners. She explained everything clearly and had Frankies best interests at heart throughout. A wonderful newly qualified vet who has am amazing future ahead of her. Would recommend unconditionally.

We always prefer the Uppermill branch even though Mossley is slightly nearer. Everyone is friendly, welcoming and, most importantly, caring and thoughtful. Maegan the lead vet is fabulous in her approach and her honest explanations always giving options of possible treatments.

Our dog Alfred died on 21 August 2026 in specialist intensive care because of toxicity caused by an overdose of the wrong chemotherapy drug administered by Medivet Richmond on 17 August 2026.
We brought our lovely Alfred to Medivet Richmond for his scheduled vinblastine chemotherapy. Instead, he was administered vincristine. Medivet subsequently acknowledged the wrong-drug administration and overdose. Alfred was transferred to specialist intensive care, where he became critically ill and died four days later.
For seven months, Alfred fought with incredible bravery while we prioritised his health above everything else in our lives. All of that non-stop effort, hope and the positive results we had seen were stripped away in an instant, along with his life. We had trusted this practice to have the experience and systems required to administer his chemotherapy safely. We later discovered that a fundamental safeguard - a final independent check of the drug identity before administration - was not in place.
Through the clinic’s own review, we also learned that vincristine and vinblastine had been stored in the same cytotoxic medication area. Furthermore, no chemotherapy consent form was presented to us or signed on the day of treatment.
Medication-selection errors are well-known risks and are precisely the kind of errors that robust checking procedures, appropriate storage arrangements and careful clinical processes are intended to prevent. Learning afterwards that these safeguards were not in place at Medivet Richmond has been extremely distressing.
We deeply regret trusting this practice with the care of our lovely, sweet boy. We have formally raised the matter with the RCVS and are allowing that process to take its course.

We love Ana, Blossom is treated with such love and kindness. But that may not be the case this time as our tubby poodle is now on a diet 🤣. We would not use any other vet as this practice is absolutely brilliant.
