Mitre 10 New Zealand Reviews 

Got scammed by there boxing day sale spend $100, get a,$20 gift card promotion. I followed a Google search link to product I wanted, purchased online using Afterpay. On collecting item's from the Henderson store, told sorry no $180 in gift cards as you used Afterpay. Told it's in the T&Cs which were only visible on their websites home page. During the check our processes, no mention of T&Cs and that Afterpay was ineligible for the promotion. Just a mean spirited and devious sales practice. Not going to give Mitre 10 anymore business. Will shop at Bunnings and others from now on. So many exclusions in T&Cs only cash buyers qualify. I'm done with Mitre 10 Mega.

Shocking experience I will never EVER use Mitre 10 again !!

My mobility is limited I use a walker to get around,walking & standing is very difficult for me hence I choose to do alot of my shopping online these days.
I used click & collect as our Xmas lights needed an upgrade and we needed these fast. I paid online they were showing in stock (not low in stock)

Half an hour after payment was taken out of my bank account I get a phone call sorry we are out of stock you'll be refunded.

So I went into the New Lynn store to question the issue in person and the hope there would be other lights available

I waited at the pick up counter for a bit and my legs nearly giving way on my mobility walker. There are no seats if people with disability or elderly need a seat, not all of us can stand for long periods of time.

I left the store with no lights, no refund and physically sore in my legs. When I asked the lady at the check out how long to receive refund she said oh a couple of hours.? (she was wrong).

I rung New Lynn Mitre 10 this morning a boy answered the phone I asked him how long to receive refund- he replied very bluntly 3 DAYS !! I felt very embarrassed asking for my own money back.

As customers we should not be made to feel like we are uneducated delinquents who are hounding staff for money - like we are the ones in the wrong ??

Poor customer service, poor phone manner, shocking online service and nil assistance given to people with disabilities.

I'm a person who likes to support locals and buy locally.

NEVER AGAIN SHALL I PURCHASE FROM MITRE 10.

LOOKING FORWARD TO RECEIVING MY REFUND IN THE NEAR FUTURE ..

Mitre 10 Rangiora - you can count on terrible service. The team on the checkouts are often good but the rest of the crew are dreadful. Went last night - spent ages waiting at a service desk while so many staff members just wandered around and completely ignored me. One even came into the area and walked out again with no acknowledgment. Finally in frustration I approached a staff member literally just standing doing nothing at the end of an isle, asked if he could help and he said “I don’t really know lighting”. Not a one off. The worst Mitre 10 in NZ! Don’t know how incompetent the manager is but would suggest and exit plan for them.

Always find friendly staff in store (Te Rapa) and great product range. Garden centre really well laid out and good gift range also. In terms of DIY - has all I need to complete small jobs around the house

Mitre10 Westgate stay away from these unprofessional. Unhelpful team. Arrived after receiving my click and collect email to now 40mins standing here waiting they still can’t find it. It’s a large item and they have the paperwork but can’t find it . Waste of my time and money I hope they issue a refund

With Christmas around the corner shops are crazy busy, harassed staff by grumpy customers everywhere. And they still continue to do their job.... Remember this when you go shopping!!!
However I've had the most wonderful experience with Jac at Mitre 10 Mega Hornby in the Click and collect department. She has gone over and above to make sure we get what we need every time with no complaints. On multiple orders over the past months!!! Fantastic.
All the staff at Hornby are great, but Jac is absolutely fantastic...

Online ordering is terrible. Once I put items in the cart they disappear, so add them again and then I have double the items. Remove, rinse, repeat. Then the payment button does nothing until I find an address that it likes - NO ERROR MESSAGE. 1 hour of my time wasted and NO PHONE SUPPORT. Bunnings :)

I went to the garden section. I asked one staff member for the price of an item. She said she worked in a different department and walked away. There were 3 other staff members standing around talking to each other so i left and went to Bunnings instead.

I purchased two sprinkler hoses from M10 Waipukurau. The first one was great. The second one was leaking at the connection. I bought a new connection for my hose and the sprinkler hose still leaked. I spent all morning trying to sort the problem.

I decided to take it back to M10 as it had a 2-year warranty. The service I received from the counter staff and also the staff in the garden centre was awesome.

The hose was replaced once I explained the problem. I came home with the new hose, and it is great. No Leaks.

I have shopped the last two times at your NEW LYNN branch and was blown away both times b was super helpful in helping me locate my purchases. She really knows how to brighten one's day and makes shopping here an absolute pleasure.

We ordered some shower tiles a couple of weeks ago. Finally got phone call yo say they were there. But also that we hadn't paid for them. Um yes we had & had proof of this. She went on that their records showed we hadn't. Then she asked us to wait while she went to speak with supervisor. No sorry we were on our way out. We were also told to pick them up from your warehouse. So on our way home we went to collect them to find they had been sent back to the store! Really this was another bad for mitre 10@ so off to the store to find the tru k with our tiles had just arrived ahead of us! So we saw them sitting on the front counter with the receipt attached showing we had 0 balance tonpay as we had already paid for them. Then told that they gad to source from 3 places which is where the confusion came from. So we took them without getting an apology at all for bring told we hadn't paid.! Thus is bad customer service!!!!

Please upskill your workers in customer service and honest truth instead of mucking around your customer's waste my time..

Went into the Whangarei store (16th June)bought a shower paid for it and the delivery. I was lead to believe that it would be here the following week after purchase. Never in the conversation was I told it would be 8 weeks+ (Estimated delivery time 16 August). I've rung a few times for updates an told different stories, first they were waiting on the shower ( bottom) now we are waiting on the rollers on the doors. I've paid 2,500 all up for the shower, I have a builder and plumber waiting! This is the first time I have purchased off mitre 10, but this will be definitely the last time.. not impressed at all.

Did an online order with Hellensville Mitre10 for Pomegrante Wonderful plant x 2 $95. Was phoned morning of pick up & told no stock, but had a smaller version, asked if it was the same plant, told YES (which was incorrect!!) no one else in Akl had that variety so made special trip for Torbay to Hellensville 22km. When I arrived saw that it was not the same plant. told by staff member that he had checked with all garden staff blah blah blah. Wasted my time, energy, petrol blah blah !!!!

Worse store ever. Terrible products for super expensive. Went to leave a review on a product I was extremely unhappy with & it was declined saying it couldn’t be posted. Fake as.

The blade broke on a Fiskers telescopic pruner within 9 months of purchase. Took it back with receipt to Mitre 10 Nelson but they wouldn't replace it even though it has a 25 year Guarantee - there excuse was it was a ware part. They said they would order a replacement blade for me.
When blade finally arrived they then wanted to charge me for the part even though this had never been mentioned previously - unacceptable. Matter was referred to manager and I was told I would be contacted when this was done.
On third trip to they finally agreed to replace the whole item but I would have to bring in the receipt AGAIN. Why couldn't this be done on the first visit.
Horrible experience, will not recommend and will be dealing with Bunnings in future

Chakia at the main desk spoke to me as if I was getting dementia! She told me when I gave the dates of purchase and bank statement, that I must have purchased it elsewhere such as Feilding where i never shop. Far too confident in her own right she has the appearance of never having had much to do with people before. The 'customer being right' is obviously not in her vocabulary! Yet thankfully Ann in Bathrooms rebuilt my trust enormously and treated me with respect and the true help I would expect for a purchase still under warranty. Thank you Amy for also phoning me weeks later to ensure the problem had been fixed. I so very much appreciated being believed and not just being brushed off as Chakia did on 3 different occassions. Whats more I heard from others around town Chakia was not just "...I know better than you..." with me, but at least 2 other people I know.
This is not a standard of treatment that has people flocking back for more. Thank goodness for Amy who also arranged someone to print a receipt (even though allegedly it didnt exist!)
Customer relations are so very important.

My online price match was declined. Their reason was incorrect so I went into a store and the price match was honoured. I received really rude online support and I can't complain to Mitre10 as the people answering the complaint are the ones that refused the price match in the first place.

Visited Mitre 10 in Alicetown Lower Hutt Wellington. Looking for a Cercis Canadensis Ruby Falls to place in a particular spot in my garden. There, I was met and was assisted by Vikki who works in the garden centre. Vikki went beyond and above her role she was informative and went out of her way to find the Cercis Canadensis Ruby Falls I was after. She realized that the Cercis Canadensis Ruby Falls was in store but she couldn't find it, it has a lot of trees, however I left my number with Viki and she rang me later to say they’d found Cercis Canadensis Ruby Falls. I had been looking for this tree for awhile now was very pleased that it was in sake also. If there were stars I would’ve maxed them out because of Vikki.

Wonderful service at Whanganui branch . Matt from the tile area knew what he was talking about and went out of his way to help
