Mixam are a super company to deal with and the end product was just as Id hoped. Easy to deal with and upload files, and always very helpful if advice is needed. Have used for many years.

We run a music festival and use Mixam for printing our programme and several promotional items. They beat the competition hands down.

I ordered a hardback novel sized book for a friend’s birthday as a special keepsake and I’m blown away by the quality. It’s immaculately done with all my own designs, photos, background colours etc. The paper quality is amazing, the print is fantastic and the overall look is so much better than I expected. Will be back to create more, very happy customer!

Another successful order completed by Mixam on my behalf. This time their print team sorted out an error message that popped up and ensured the job was printed on schedule. My order was also completed and delivered before the estimated completion date. Great service all round, thank you.

A very good experience in using Mixam. They have an excellent idiot proof website to upload documents which highlights any problems. The books themselves were produced on schedule and the finished product with smyth sewn binding is of superb quality. Would use them again anytime

The Mixam book printers are firstclass. I used their process for printing my first hardcopy run of a new novel. The process was very helpful to use, the print time from order to delivery was super quick and the print and manufacturing quality is excellent.
Fully recommended and i will be using them again for a future book.

I had created a custom size book in a specific style as a gift for friends anniversary. Having never done anything like this before I need a lot of guidance and spoke to Mixam on 4 different occasions regarding placing the order. All were extremely helpful and understanding they guided me through and assisted with my details for the order. Even to the point of sending via my preferred delivery company. I am thrilled with the book & hope my friends will be too. Excellent service & quality finish highly recommend

Had 120 Wedding ‘programmes’ made up, the quality was excellent!
The photos were perfect reproductions and the delivery was prompt and booklets well packed.
For booklets I really wouldn’t consider going anywhere else.

The uploading of files is very straightforward as long as you have the correct ones - you should have if you know what you're doing. The quality is top drawer too.

Love this company. Still the best website around for uploading, ensuring compliance, previewing and clarity. Print quality is exceptional across various formats - posters, magazines, flyers - and it’s affordable, too. Rarely have need to use CS, but when I have, not at all surprised to discover they know what they’re talking about.

Excellent process of selecting required print option, excellent quality, excellent service.

I ordered test copies of my book from Mixam and unfortunately the experience has been extremely frustrating from start to finish.

The first proof arrived with the spine positioned incorrectly, meaning part of the spine design was printed across the front cover. There were also visible print lines across some of the images. Mixam were initially very helpful and arranged a reprint, which I appreciated.

Unfortunately, the second copy had further issues. The spine problem was still present, pages were missing from the book and there were white lines across numerous pages. During the email exchanges that followed, I was advised to alter my spine design, which I did, and this ultimately fixed the spine issue.

I was then told that my file size was incorrect and was instructed to resize and resubmit the file. After doing so, I was told there was insufficient bleed and that AI mirror imaging would therefore be used. This completely ruined many of the pages. I asked for this to be removed, but was repeatedly told that my file did not have the correct bleed. I eventually had to point out several times that the file size I had originally been using was actually the size recommended by Mixam's own website for an A4 hardcover book with bleed. The member of staff had effectively advised me to change the file to a smaller size, which had then created the bleed issue.

I was also told during this exchange that Mixam is not a design company. I wasn't expecting Mixam to design my book, but I do expect advice given by their own staff regarding file specifications to be accurate.

To be fair, after all of this was finally resolved, the third test copy arrived and was perfect. At that point I felt confident enough to place my main order for 55 copies, particularly as I already had more than 50 customers waiting for their books.

Unfortunately, this is where the biggest problem occurred.

The order arrived on Saturday 8 August via Royal Mail. I was expecting seven boxes, but only six were delivered. The delivery driver confirmed that the seventh box was at the depot but could not be delivered because it had been completely ripped open and the contents were missing. This box contained nine books.

The six boxes that did arrive were also in extremely poor condition. They were heavily beaten up, had very little tape holding them together and some were already ripping at the sides and top. More concerningly, there was no protective packaging whatsoever inside the boxes. The books had simply been placed loose inside the boxes. As a result, 11 of the books that did arrive are badly damaged around the corners and cannot be supplied to my customers.

I reported everything immediately, including photographs of the damaged boxes and books, and explained that I have customers who have already paid and are waiting for their orders. I also called Mixam that day and was told the care team would not be available until Monday, but that the urgency would be noted.

Since then, there has been no urgency in getting the 20 books replaced or sorting the issue. I was eventually told that Royal Mail are returning some of the copies back to Mixam and they need to wait for them to arrive and check their condition before deciding what to do next. The problem is that Royal Mail has already confirmed to me that the box is empty and that there are no books to return - they are simply returning the empty box.

So at this point, I have paid for 55 books and am effectively 20 copies short, while customers are waiting for books they have already paid for.

I understand that issues can happen during printing and that problems with courier deliveries are not always directly within a printer's control. What I find particularly disappointing is the lack of packaging, the repeated production problems, the incorrect advice regarding file specifications and the slow response when I have made it clear that I have customers waiting for their orders.

The third proof was perfect, so I know Mixam are capable of producing a good-quality book. Unfortunately, the overall experience has been far too stressful and unreliable for me to recommend using them, particularly for anyone selling books to customers and relying on a print supplier to fulfil orders on time and in good condition.

UPDATE: I have supplied my order number and details as requested and I now await your response on this.

Sometimes the quality upon arrival can be Eh ( damage in shipping ect) on Mixam but they are ALWAYS responsive and ALWAYS fix it. For their price and custromer service rhey can not be beat.
