Model Mayhem Reviews 

I am Founder of several own businesses and have been a paid member to MM for years with both personal and business accounts, giving jobs to multiple members. It happened once that I violates 1 rule by mistake, and my account was just blocked with no attempts to resolve the issue or notify me about what can be done.

In addition, their customer service treated me like garbage when I complained about the situation. I will be removing all my paid accounts and will also share the situation with my contractors and 50K social media followers. Third world approach, extremely rude and unprofessional.

I’ve been on Model Mayhem for a long time and it’s always been bad but there were no other sites of it’s kind. Now there’s instagram where you can basically do everything MM offers but for free and you don’t have to deal with the moderators. Actually the reason I’m even posting this is because of how terrible the moderators are. They are incredibly rude to people and very open about it. There are no standards and it’s painfully obvious that they’ve never been trained. If you want somewhere to showcase your images and network with other people use instagram or facebook. There’s no point in paying to be treated like garbage.

I just realized this review could be sent to them. If you’re reading this Mod 7 I want you to know that you’re terrible at your job. Why you think you’re better than other people because you work for Model Mayhem is beyond me. It’s Model Mayhem not Vogue magazine.

Verbal abuse by Admins...
Poor site and reputation, some accounts havent been used for over 10 years but they keep everyone active to alure new customer.

I've been a free member for years. I look at it as a specialized facebook, with plenty of checking to be done before doing a shoot; whether as a photographer, model or other participants. Yep, scams out there; and in the larger cities I'm sure there are a lot more of that going on. I have found it a valuable resource for networking to do the small amount of nude art work I have done and will do.

Also, I have found several of the forum threads to be very interesting and education. Both the ones dealing with photo tech and the ones talking about the model - photographer relationship.

Really Bad Behavior!
Admins and Moderators are very agessive and rude.
My pictures been deleted (Admin saying pubic area was displayed) It was not because the picture was cuted and you couldnt see anything.
I ask why mine was taken of and send them a link to a "real" porn picture hosted on their site (legt been open and vulva was visible).
Got a very rude response (in not correct english, so I guess admins are not from US).
I really felt bad. I was never treated like that. In stead of handling it professional (appologise or explain it propperly), they been rude.

Also a lot of fake profiles, models not responding and sometimes i believe its a platform for same sex dating. :-)
It seems like people are a bit tense, as I heard from models, too.
That there are a lot of scams and bad people.

The platform Modelkartei is better, people are registered with ID and the behavior are friendlier and nicer.

I don't get all the negative reviews on this page. I have used Model Mayhem for years to locate models to use in my paintings. I've hired several male and female models. All were professional and did a great job.

Don't expect the moderators to babysit you. Do your due diligence, and make sure you're dealing with reliable, professional people. It isn't that hard.

Be very careful, unless you are a Slu.. and don't care what happen as long as you get your five bucks. Told by many ladies that tried Model mayhem that the site is infested with rapists. One wrote me that she was drugged and when she wrote about it, evil mayhem deleted her account. Whenever someone write about bad experience you automatically get blocked from site. My self done nothing other than invite models to make videos. They deleted my account saying that is a violation. Really...Stay away from this site and read more more about the owners. Response 9/6 - Have you seen your reviews MM? You're the only site that we've had a problem with, The only one! Your Customer service is so bad that you've been getting negative reviews for years on here and on 9/1/20 have finally addressed them with a robotic reply.

Run, don't walk . these people are absolutely horrible. They shut down my account and my girlfriends account for no reason at all. They assumed we were breaking the rules and provided no proof at all. This place is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen. Will be reporting them to the BBB and Department of consumer protection!!
This is my first negative review of anything ever!! That's how bad they are.

Been a paying customer for years to promote my fashion and swimwear photography. They shut down my account without any warning for posting two PG rated implied photos taken from a recent photoshoot. When asked if I could just remove it, they refused to refund or re-activate my account.

Would not recommend this company until they re-train their moderators. Terrible customer service and time is better spent on instagram and facebook where this is more active traffic.

Horrid customer service, technically archaic and stupid, they're overpriced. It's a piece of sh%*%

A site for a toxic culture of hypocritical rapist sociopaths to bully and troll others. The moderators are straight up evil, the secret police create a culture of fear and ban people for no reason and they want you to kneel before them and grovel just to be included in the fashion industry. Beyond the deaths and rapes and lawsuits that have already happened on the site, as well as the lawsuits that should have happened, i sincerely believe these people should be shot in the street because society is only brought down by their existence on the face of this planet. No one should have ever given them control over a website, and power over the fashion industry will never again be in the hands of good people or professionals. I'm not one who usually buys into the whole "rape culture" idea, but thats exactly what this is.

Was a paying member for years, started posting tasteful nudes (non-erotic) as my skills as a photographer. photos no different from what other models post themselves. At first, they took my photos down. Explaining that it didn't meet the guidelines. So then I started censoring my photos, but they still took them down. Also photos that I given other models I worked with, but they didn't take theirs. They claim that they a non-pornographic site, but there are a ton of model that are in the adult business with active profiles. Yet they bully the photographers. It's seems like they have a double standard between models and photographers. Long story short, they took my money, and my profile down, claiming my photos were photographic. Photos at my skill level that were no different then what other photographers, and models had up.

Been a member since they started. The site is not monitored in as the models place OLD shots from years ago, never check into their messages so I doubt their are many real active members just Women wanting attention.

I was a member in good standing for over 5 years with over 11000 friends and for no reason had my profile canceled,I asked why but they will not tell more any reason,This site has many scammers and vindictive freaks STAY AWAY for this site ,They will not protect you or your content they just want MONEY

It gets close to 1, depending on who you run into on MM. Cecilia's review is right on and totally been my experience. A legitimate shoot, especially non nudity, does happen but when it does per MM venue its rare. unless you strip all the way down this Site may be a real letdown.....and even if you do the nude stuff!!

I was encourage to post porn of myself. i refused so I was deleted. I was my molested my perverts form model mayhem. please avoid them

I wanted to make a profile on there but I did not have the prerequisite 4 photos of models which I did not know you needed to have. I posted a few photos of travels I had taken, and some of models of the type I wanted to emulate, but not that I took myself. So instead of just rejecting the application and allowing the person to try again "2 times" as their own TOS says, they blocked my account outright, did not explain much of anything to me, and were completely rude and dismissive. Fast forward 4 years later as I forgot all about that and got a degree, I then wanted to use the site again as I now had professional equipment and was ready to begin and....I email them asking why my account is still unusable 4 years later when I hadn't even looked at it in all that time, and instead of fixing the problem and allowing me to fix my profile they gave me another curt, rude non-response. I then tried to explain to them that I am now an award winning creative as before I did not know what I was doing and would never upload an image I did not take myself, and have never had any problem professionally or legally in my entire life and...what do they do...give me ANOTHER curt and dismissive response from a different admin. After 4 years you would think their customer service might have improved, but...nope. I then researched them more and found that they are currently on trial for knowingly allowing rapists to operate on the site and not alerting their models to that, while banning and blocking upstanding citizens or previous members for frivolous reasons. I have also read how other people were also treated poorly and countless stories of models being either hit on or verbally abused by other members and they were the ones kicked out and not the abusive/weird members. This is an untrustworthy website, and may even be unsafe for models to use and I am honestly glad they were rude to me so that I can warn others not to use this sleazy website that will become extinct soon that many professional photographers in the industry do not even like. Stay far far away.

Kicking paying members out, for questioning the fairness of competitions,
that many agrees are arranged and corrupt.
Moderators are out of control, and there's no freedom of speech in the forums.
All in all, it's a place run by extreme amateurs who happens to be a little clique of pals.
If you're serious about modeling, that's the last place you should go.
Stuffed with child abusers, fake photographers and selfie models.

I have been on this site for about 3 years. It has really helped me with networking and finding gigs! I don't think I would have such an amazing portfolio established without ModelMayhem!
