Our Journey...- After previously running a charter company and training academy from 1999, we realised there was a way we could improve the learning experience for RYA Theory Courses. In 2005, we made the decision to develop an online Day Skipper theory course and sought approval from the RYA. After our course material was reviewed by Mike Diamond and Chris Slade, RYA examiners of examiners, we embarked on writing the Coastal Skipper and Ocean Yachtmaster online theory courses. We dedicated months to developing ocean animations, and worked tirelessly on the weather and passage making modules. Eventually, we completed the course, and it exceeded our expectations. Today, we continue to improve our current range of courses, keeping them in line with current RYA standards and quality requirements, while also bringing out our own range of Navathome Theory Courses, like the “Diesel Engine Course” and “Basic Training” courses. Did my Fast Track for YM Offshore…
Did my Fast Track for YM Offshore theory with them. Amazing team, very helpful, very knowledgeable. I had no prior knowledge at all, they made my life alot easier.
100% Recommend.
Will do Ocean theory with them as well.

Well thought out course
Well thought out course. Took a bit of time adjusting to doing something on line and not always clear where I had made an error. Made good use of repeating core things so that you learnt them. Useful being able to do things when your time allowed rather than set time every week in a classroom .

Comprehensive course material with excellent support
I have now completed four Royal Yachting Association theory courses using navathome.com over the last two years and I've just completed their ocean yachtmaster course, which means I can sail round the world. Their online course materials are easy follow, comprehensive and fully cover the RYA syllabus for each course. Each module has a set of very challenging questions but you can have several goes before submitting and you get instant feedback - usually a percentage score. The online materials are supplemented by useful written materials, such as charts, almanacs and course notes. There are also additional online learning aids such as illustrations of buoys and the international collision regulations. They also have a mobile app that can be used for revision and for up to date information on tides etc. Highly recommended for RYA theory courses.
