Our Journey...- After previously running a charter company and training academy from 1999, we realised there was a way we could improve the learning experience for RYA Theory Courses. In 2005, we made the decision to develop an online Day Skipper theory course and sought approval from the RYA. After our course material was reviewed by Mike Diamond and Chris Slade, RYA examiners of examiners, we embarked on writing the Coastal Skipper and Ocean Yachtmaster online theory courses. We dedicated months to developing ocean animations, and worked tirelessly on the weather and passage making modules. Eventually, we completed the course, and it exceeded our expectations. Today, we continue to improve our current range of courses, keeping them in line with current RYA standards and quality requirements, while also bringing out our own range of Navathome Theory Courses, like the “Diesel Engine Course” and “Basic Training” courses. Sail training at your own place - 5 Stars
I did my RYA Coastal Skipper training and it was a joy. Well it was a lot of hard work, but the team were very responsive to my stupid questions, the course is well laid out and I got there in the end. Five starts - recomended.

All guidance really easy to understand
All guidance really easy to understand. Did not need to contact a tutor once throughout. My assessment result came through in around 20 mins. Much preferred this option rather than sitting in a class room

The Navathome Online Course Work is an excellent platform to learn the theory remotely, very professional, easy to follow.
Although the amount of necessary information and material to be covered in the course can be daunting initially, I received very helpful individual guidance and feedback in any areas that needed revisiting.
If one can’t attend the course directly in person at a sailing school directly, then this online course is highly recommendable, since it’s available worldwide.

Good quality training materials. Everything provided to enable me to pass Day Skipper Theory. Assistance available 7 days a week - which is impressive and emails answered within 10minutes or so.

Nav at home day skipper theory course. Good self study course with attentive…
Good self study course with attentive support from Nav at home staff. Course structure and information well laid out. Good mix between study material, interactive tests and video tutorials.
Course was very interesting and informative, going to be very useful for next sailing trip where I can put the learning into practice.
If possible I would advise doing the course as quickly as possible and not dragging it out as you then need to revise quite a bit to pass the exam.

Great structure and supportive instructors
The NavAtHome crew are very supportive and the course material is quite thorough with a clear structure. The only thing that might be challenging is for those who are not native British-English speakers, a few sections may be a little confusing. However, the instructors are available anytime to help clarify questions. Will definitely recommend NavAtHome!
