Very disappointing service during tenant eviction process. Lack of advice initially i.e we had a difficult tenant who had refused access for routine safety/maintenance then defaulted on two months worth of rent. Advised to file to court for rent arrears which the tenant paid in full a few days before court case. It would have been beneficial to have been made aware of this and given the option for no fault of eviction from outset.

We later filed for no fault eviction and when we were sent the witness statement there were multiple inaccuracies which would have probably caused the case to be thrown out and need to start the expensive process over again. The land registry number referred to a property from a different county, the statement referenced carbon dioxide testers (not monoxide), incorrect previous landlord company names, to name a few.

We also had 3 different solicitors during this process, and the legal advocate we were sent to support us at the court hearing said that he didn’t understand why this had been called to court, but on review of the documentation it would appear the solicitors hadn’t made it clear that the previous landlord had changed company names on the initial court submission.

All in all a very poor experience with Newbold solicitors. It seemed like they tried to add extra costs that are not listed in their online prices at every opportunity saying that they are needed in all cases anyway. I feel we also probably paid extra to cover mistakes they made in the original court submission which we weren’t given to proof read.

Just completed on our first home purchase using Newbolds Cwmbran branch. Alysha and Jasmine were great. A smooth transaction with regular updates and reassurance. Everything was dealt with efficiently and in a timely manner would recommend and use again myself

I believe they get stuff done the right and proper way and always responding via email which is outstanding.

For the first 7 weeks of this transaction, i was primarily assigned to Berryn's team, and if i'm being honest, i was not at all happy with the service provided. The communication wasn't good, as they would often take many days (in some cases close to a week) to respond to my emails (despite me sending multiple follow up emails), and were giving very infrequent updates. They didn't proactively check for updates in the case frequently enough (missing updates that were made weeks prior, e.g. my mortgage offer), and the slow communication nearly jeopardized the sale, as we were close to the completion deadline.

Luckily, after i started to call them frequently to chase for updates, Maurice Thompson was assigned to handle my case, and he was fantastic. He gave me very clear and frequent updates, and he would respond to my emails very fast (within 30-40 mins in many cases). He was able to expedite the review of outstanding search results, queries to the seller's solicitors, reviewing/processing of documentation etc. Within a week of him taking over, the purchase was complete, and i am greatly indebted to him for his service. If i was assigned to him from the start, i would give 10 stars!
