Do not trust the 5 star reviews. This company will charge you double what they quoted when their driver shows up on site to force you to pay more or be left stranded.

Seriously, do yourself a favor and go with another company

Exactly what others said, driver from Quality Moving out of Dallas TX who Northern Relocation showed up walked 5 feet into apartment and said this is gonna cost more. Said his experience of 20 years allowed him to know that without looking in either bedroom. If you want to get ripped off call Northern Relocation .

TOTAL SCAM! RUN FAST, RUN HARD! I would give them a ZERO if I could. The salesperson I talked to gave me a reasonable quote with the pick-up date that I needed. At 9:40pm the night before the pickup, the moving company called and said they couldn't do the move until the day after my original pick-up date. I explained this was not an option for me and needed to be done on the agreed upon date. They told me they have a 2-day window...which was NEVER mentioned during the original conversation. When I called to cancel the move, the person I talked to was VERY RUDE and argumentative. They said I needed to email them to cancel, and my deposit would not be refunded (which I'm disputing with my credit card company). I followed up with a phone call to their customer service number make sure they got the email, which they said they didn't at first, then they found the email. The last thing I wanted was for them to show up after cancelling via email and then wanting me to pay for the whole move! I then proceeded to call the salesperson that I originally booked the move with, and he BLOCKED my number! I know this because I called his same number from my other phone and it went through, even though he forwarded it to customer service instead of picking up my call! I should have read the other reviews before agreeing to using this company....at least I'm not the only one who's had a terrible experience with them.

Signed Bidding agreement for my move on 1/10/26. Made $2,200 deposits for vehicle move and household goods. Car transportation never reached out or showed up the date we agreed and movers showed up at 10 pm. After they did inventory and loaded all my items, the guy gave me his phone to talk to someone that stated that I need to pay $1,500 more if I want them to move my stuff. I read the contract and they should never changed price after inventory and loading my items. They still wanted more money. When I refused, they dropped my belongings in the street at 1 am. Not even getting it back to the house. This broker is a complete fraud and I contacted several time and they never answered after the incident.

Watch out for bait and switch pricing involving underestimating the truck space needed, providing too low cubic footage «binding» space estimates that are increased at the time of loading, leaving customers forced to pay for additional space they were unaware of. This is how the company secures its payment which they take up front, leaving the customer to deal with the additional cost at the time of the move. They also leave customer to believe that the delivery can be scheduled at a specific date which is not true. The moving company can choose to delay the move-in date with up to 30 days to facilitate its schedule. Predatory business practices customers should be aware of before signing their company’s contract.

I’d give a zero if I could. Horrible company, price baiting, inconsistent information, and lack of accountability. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! they promise one thing and deliver another. They did not gather all of my items as promised and costed me additional time, money and labor to have all of my items moved.

I had an extremely troubling experience with Northern Relocation, LLC and the mover they dispatched. On moving day, the mover suddenly claimed the shipment was “too large” and that there was insufficient space—only to reverse that position if I paid additional money. This felt like a classic bait-and-switch.

The mover also contradicted representations made at booking regarding cubic footage and box volume, claiming that “45 medium boxes” did not correlate to space, despite earlier assurances to the contrary. Even after removing substantial items (bed frame, table, club chair, plant stand), the price dropped by only $250, which bore no reasonable relationship to the reduced load.

The mover repeatedly characterized the shipment as unusually large to justify higher charges, yet completed loading in approximately 30 minutes—calling those claims into serious question. I was also subjected to arbitrary decisions about what items could or could not be loaded based on alleged space constraints, only for those decisions to be reversed later without explanation.

When I raised concerns, Northern Relocation refused to intervene and instead told me to negotiate directly with the mover, despite the clear imbalance of power. Customer service was dismissive and unprofessional. I was told I could cancel (losing my deposit) but warned it would be “difficult” to find another mover, which felt coercive.

I was also misled regarding support availability. A representative gave me his direct contact and assured me he would assist if issues arose, yet he became unreachable. Customer service provided inconsistent and false explanations about why I could not speak with him.

To date, I have not been given any delivery timeline, and calls/messages to the mover have gone unanswered. Additionally, although the contract states one flight of stairs is included, I was charged $75 per additional trip on a single-flight staircase—an undisclosed and deceptive interpretation. I don't see how any reasonable interpretation of "one flight of stairs" would mean a single trip up a flight of stairs, much less a subsequent $75 charge per trip.

I would strongly caution others before using this company.

The company personnel quoted a price of $5,875 to move the items in my four bedroom home from California to Idaho. A few weeks before the move I was told to give an inventory. After this inventory the price went up to $11, 758! After numerous questions I came to find out that our items are taken to a warehouse and placed in another truck with other peoples items. They also have you choose two days for pickup and don't bother to contact you to let you know when they are coming until they are actually coming. All your items are shoved into a truck from the top to the bottom. Upon delivery, our couch leg was busted, our tall lamps ruined, chairs and wood furniture gauged or broken, and several plastic bins were cracked because of the amount of weight placed on them. I sent pictures of the broken items to several people I contacted about the damages,nobody has responded.

You often hear people say that they wish they could rate zero stars. I wish I could rate a negative stars.
If I could some advice it would be this:
1. READ YOUR RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES before signing anything.
2. Make sure your estimate is binding.
3. Make sure you have a set delivery date in writing.
I can’t tell you enough how much stress an and anxiety this move has been and it isn’t over yet. They still have my items and have not told me when to expect my things. I suppose I will have to spend my holidays in my new home and in a brand new city with no furniture and sleeping in an air mattress.
DAVE will low ball you to get you to sign a contract. Then they will hold your deposit hostage and then PERRY will add more fees and costs and tell you you can’t get your deposit back. This is not true. You can, you may have to pay a small percentage but you can.
They will pick up and charge you more once your things are on their truck and will hold them hostage till you pay. Then they will drive away with all your belongings and not answer the phone to tell you when they plan to bring them back.
You will call and call till your finger fall off but will get no answer because your name shows up when you call. And if you’re lucky like my friend was the will charge you yet more money to take your things into your new home.
You can believe me or you can learn for yourself like I did and my friend did. We had two moves.
She was leaving and I was moving in. I’m waiting to see how long this will take. She has finally gotten her things and was charged another $400 to take the inside, but so far I have no delivery date and no answer when I call.
I’ll keep you posted. I will update my review and let you all know how it turns out.
Litigation is not off the table for me yet. Waiting to see.

If I could give zero I would. Scammers, rude, no follow-up and literally the worst company I have ever worked with. They have no accountability and are refusing to help get out belongings moved from the storage warehouse they stranded them in to the final destination. DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING>

Don’t walk away from this company.
They will quote you a price and then double it when it’s actual moving time. Lack of communication once deposit is made is horrible. It was a nightmare. I paid 4 different moving companies that Northern send. Contacted the BBB and Northern is not an accredited business but really didn’t help me at all. Buyer beware.

We used Northern Relo for a move from IN to GA recently. I was also talking to a couple of other companies at the time, one of them quoted me about the same price as Northern Relo and had a much better reputation (Asher Movers). The reason I ended up booking with Northern Relo is because the guy on the phone (Chase) said that they go this route all the time and "we have to say 7-10 days but it should only be 2-3 days". I really needed my things in time for my medical school clinicals. We were moving on 7/28 and I didn't need to start clinicals until 8/5. I thought 7 days should be PLENTY OF TIME to get my things. We were quoted 1400 and after reading a bunch of reviews online, I mentally prepared myself for it to end up being much more. We don't have that much stuff (about 600cuft) and it ended up costing us $2500 before they would load the truck I had to sign a new contract (US SAFE MOVING is the company they used to move us). Honestly that would have been fine if things went smoothly and I felt like the company was honest. After 7 days I sent an email that our things hadn't arrived and it cost me a lot of money to go out and buy all new medical supplies, clothes, white coat etc for my clinicals because everything was on the truck. I asked for a discount on the cost of everything and of course, crickets. Every time I called, emailed asking for an update I never got a call or email back. When I booked the service with Chase on the phone he said "you'll be dealing with me from start to finish" and I never heard back from him not once when I called and emailed throughout those 8 days. They delivered our things on the 8th day which seemed ridiculous it took that long. Our stuff was thrown all over the truck, a rocking chair thats been in the family for years was busted, and our lamp was busted. Its really just the shady business practices and lack of communication that pisses people off, not being honest up front. I feel like I got lucky compared to others when I read others reviews. One of the other moving companies advised me NOT to use this company and sent me their BBB rap sheet. They seem to be more well known for shady business practices. Just warning you do NOT use this company.

I had such a great experience from start to finish. They were professional, punctual, and handled everything with care. The entire team was friendly, efficient, and made the entire moving process so much less stressful. Moving can be a hassle! They took great care of my belongings, and everything arrived in perfect condition. I really appreciated how organized they were throughout. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable moving company!

If I could give them negative five stars, I would. They suck as a moving company. They were unprofessional, untrustworthy, and unreliable. My son's items were picked up late, delivered way later, and damaged or missing. His mattress and clothes were delivered soaking wet. His more expensive items were simply stolen/missing. They escape accountability by using a 3rd party to handle the delivery. When things go woefully wrong, they then refer you to a contract that they violate at every opportunity. Please dont get scammed by these people. Go somewhere else and pay a little more for peace of mind and a professional moving service.

Hassle free, great communication and reasonable pricing. Can't get any better than that. Will keep them in my contacts for future moves. My move from NJ to FL was exceptional and will look to use them in the future

Everything with this company was seamless. Employees were super helpful guiding me through this stressful process. We were looking at about a week but came early. 10 out of 10 recommend.
