I purchased my glasses from Optically a few years ago and had the pleasure of dealing with Mike throughout the process. I must say that both the frame and lens quality have been exceptional. Even after years of daily use, they are still going strong with no scratches or issues, which speaks volumes about the quality of the products they provide.

Mike's customer service has been equally impressive. Recently, when my prescription changed, he promptly reached out and offered to re-glaze my current glasses, as well as any additional frames I may have. The communication has always been fantastic, making the entire experience smooth and hassle-free.

The pricing is another standout feature. Not only are the prices highly competitive, but the quality easily matches—and in my experience, exceeds—that of many other providers. Optically has certainly earned a loyal customer in me.

I would highly recommend anyone considering new glasses to give Optically a try and compare them with other companies. You may be pleasantly surprised by not only the difference in price but also the outstanding quality and service.

Easy to deal with - and everything was smooth. This was a great option for replacing the lenses on a favourite pair of spectacles - at a reasonable cost. The new lens is good quality and exactly what I expected, so good value for money. Whole process from start to receiving the new lenses was about 2 months - so as long as you are not in a hurry, and have another pair of glasses to use, it's a great service.

I put my glasses in to be reglazed on 28 April 2026. I just received them today, 13 July 2026. The website says 8-10 working days!!
I had a lot of trouble getting hold of anyone to ask about my glasses. When I did they were respectful but not helpful as to when I could expect to receive them. When I finally got them, they are good, clear and I have no issues with the quality.
You just need to know it is an incredibly long wait. Great price, dreadful service, good quality.

Excellent communication and the eye glasses were as ordered by prescription and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Company to whom it may concern

Please believe all the negative reviews, and do not waste your money on this scam of a company!! Their website is full of lies - they do not deliver within 10 working days, and there is no “100% peace-of-mind guarantee”. And they will lie to you over and over again about the status of your order. After 6 months and two botched attempts at making the progressive sunglasses I ordered, they still refuse to refund my $300.

I placed the order in Sep 2025, using the same script as for glasses I’ve had made through Clearly (which are great - should have stuck with them!). I received the glasses from Optically over a month after ordering, and they were so bad I couldn’t even see through them. They refused to refund me, me, saying I needed to return them and they would remake them instead. I returned the faulty glasses in Nov, and then spent the next 4 months trying to get updates. I finally got the replacement sunglasses in Mar 2026! But - they’d remade them with pale grey lenses, which was not what I’d ordered, and completely useless as sunglasses. And after all this, they are still refusing to refund my money.

As others have said, they are not an NZ company, just some sort of dropshipping set up, operating out of Australia I think? The NZ customer support is a joke - no one answers the phone, you just get email responses from “Joy” who sounds suspiciously like AI. I got almost word-for-word identical emails in Jan, Feb, and Mar saying that the lenses would be processed in 5-7 business days then sent to the lab for checking.

Save your money and use ANY other company than this!!

I ordered two pairs of spectacles, rimless (Silhouette). Although it took some time before I received them, I am delighted by the results. They are well done, with a nice polished bevel, but most importantly, all the parameters have been respected and my vision is great. Great quality of lenses at a great price. And the customer service is also amazing as I rang a few times and the people answering are always courteous and polite. I will not hesitate to recommend Optically to anyone I know who needs their glasses done. A special mention to Mike who answered the phone most times I rang. He is a great ambassador of the customer service of Optically.

Great team at customer support. I had an issue uploading my eye prescription to my order, customer service picked up on this. With their help, I was able to get my order back on track and was kept up to date with progress. Once I received my glasses, they were exactly as I wanted. I will be ordering more glasses in the future

Friendly Support team, quick response and they made sure everything was correct by double checking. Excellent service and helped me saved a lot of money and time!

Paid for glasses via PayPal. Received confirmation email. Then no updates. I asked for a GST receipt and they couldn't provide a GST number. Received no updates for a week, so email again. They stated the lenses needed to be specially made and then cut, this would take an additional 7-12 business days. I ordered Oct 26th, and I'm currently waiting a full month without any indication of progress...and they've gone cold on communication.
Their 'address' listed is for a gas station, and they run a similar Australian website that appears to be just as fraudulent and misleading.
They're actively trying to convince you they're based in NZ, but they're not.
Either they're a drop shipper with terrible customer service and no control over their product, or out right scam.

*5/12/25 - still nothing, despite being told I would have items in a couple days.

It was an easy process to order the glasses and only a couple weks for delivery.

I bought my prescription sunglasses 9 months ago and use them regularly and they are still in great condition. I remember that ordering and delivery were very efficient and speedy.

My glasses were exactly what I wanted and needed. Ive ordered another pair just in a different colour since.

Simple, Fast, Accurate service. Couldn’t fault it.

Four weeks, nothing delivered. Customer service doesn't call back as promised.

The glasses took a little longer to arrive than I expected but came today and they are wonderful. I am so pleased with them I ordered some prescription sunglasses e sunglasses today as well.
Company kept in touch with me and were very helpful.

My glassess arrived but were unsuitable,,great quality but not right for me..offered a refund and although its taken several weeks I'm happy to report my refund arrived today..

Such good value! I received my old frames I bought in an op-shop for $10 then spent $79 for the lenses. An optometrist was going to charge me $600 so I saved lots.
It took three weeks. Now I can get my other glasses fixed as a back up pair :)

The communication was exceptional, the product is perfect and the followup service was great.
I had concerns that using this service would result in an average product but I can honestly says these glasses are the best I have ever purchased and the price was brilliant.
