Zero flexibility and disappointing customer service.

We have been a business customer for a number of years and wanted to cancel a server we no longer needed.

The invoice for the server renewal had been generated in advance in our account and we could not cancel at that point. So we I got in touch to cancel the invoice and renewal when we realised this was the case. It turns out we were 9 hours past the renewal date and customer service refused to cancel the renewal and insisted on charging for a full year in advance to our card.

There was absolutely no understanding or flexibility and the customer service was not helpful despite multiple messages explaining.

To add further insult - they siad that they would have refunded us if we were an individual, but would not as we are a business.

We deal with a number of hosts and others and we have always had no problems cancelling servers or having refunds for unused time.

OVH is cheap for a reason, and there are many, many other better hosts out there.

They dont deserve even a 1* review. As a new customer I wanted to try their VPS and I bough a monthly service. After 8-9 days of having it (never used) I though this was hard to manage and wanted to cancel so it was not going to renew month after month. I tried to cancel my self but it an error was shown. At this time I understood that something bad was going to happen.
Did send them a ticket asking to cancel it, after I called them but they dedice to not cancel the hosting and are going to charge me for another 11 months!
This is unlawful since in their TOS its written that the customer can ask for cancelation in first 14 days.
I am going to fill a lawsuit for this fraudulent company. I know my customer rights.

If you don't want stressful days don't go for OVH, it will be your nightmare!

I had real issues with my Windows password expiring, preventing me from logging in remotely. Despite the fact this issue was outside the remit of OVH, I was given all the help I needed to resolve it. Top rate support and thank you.

If that could be possible to give zero star I should do that.
What a nigtmare of waiting to get an answer to support ticket. It tooks around 5 days sometimes more than a week!
After 1 year of works with OVH i'm leaving to another company.

1. Service do not work
2. My messages are not even read carefully
3. Some of support's replies look like a copy&paste
4. Some of support's replies seem to be just for "response time" statistics
4. Following OVH documetation does not help
5. Days are passing by

We have been a customer for 10 years. We bought there new support package for £45 per month.

After 5 minutes it was clear that this was not "support "only a way of having a ticket responded to quicker.

We canceled the contract.

We asked for a refund and were told that because we had made that single call we would have to pay for the rest of the year!

We have passed it on to our solicitors.

They are an annoying unhelpful company, BEWARE

Though I would try a UK based data center, rather than my usual German hosting company. Price turned out higher due to them not showing VAT until final checkout. Cores RAM, storage and bandwidth all less generous but UK hosting is usually more expensive. Problems really began at renewal, I could not renew the VPS. Every time I clicked their link a message popped up saying there was a technical problem and that they were aware of it. After a couple of days of trying. I raised a support ticket. An automated response then nothing for over 2 days. At this point I had decided to move the services to my usual provider.

Been with OVH for a couple of years now and never encountered an issue. Recently I had a problem and couldn't log into my VPS and was shocked at how bad support is. Provided next to no assistance, didn't look into the issue properly, advised them it was urgent and it takes ages to reply to tickets. Website was down for 3 days. Lucky its not a retail website as could have lost a lot of money in that period. This is my only experience of the OVH customer support and for that reason I cannot recommend them to anyone. I have rated 2 stars as everything was fine until something went wrong.

They could not provide the service I was paying for, their support was dire and their control panel confusing, sometimes in French. I cancelled within a week but they are refusing to refund.

I was moving a site to a new server for a client, I advise OVH as I have recently myself given them a shot and they provided service as expected.

After client paid for Cpanel (CentOS 6 64 Bits) operating system & Option cpanel--hostingsuite - (12 month) (Order: 120207807 | Invoice: GB817653).

I completed transfer to above VPS but noticed cPanel licence was not active, so contacted them to state issue.

Six months later and no response by support, I checked the original invoice and it turns out they cancelling the cPanel part of the order in error, which they charged for, so I contacted support again to request they provided what was paid for and refunded for the 6-months cPanel licence they have failed to provide.

To my surprise, support did reply, but they failed to read the request properly and have instead refunded the whole cPanel part of the order, so my client is now unable to access cPanel and manage their website nor have an active SSL (provided by cPanel), which has undoubtedly had an impact on their SEO rankings for the last 6 months.

So, I am having to resort to TrustPilot in order to get the level of support service one would expect. so OVH please refer to support ticket 8538445192 and finally activate cPanel, cancel the refund, only refund for the 6 months you failed to provide (50%) and configure so renewal falls on date of OVH as single package, as purchased, if you are unable to do this, then I would expect cPanel licence offered and charge as original billed invoice amount.

Your service has seriously fallen short. Having what now seems like fallen lucky on my first experience with you, now all purchases and support is poor, very poor!

OVH is cheap, but it's like they say - if it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Not that they won't give you the service you buy, just that if *anything* goes wrong, OVH customer support will probably be less than useless.
On several occasions, OVH customer support has failed to understand what the problem is, stated that the problem is fixed (when it wasn't & still isn't), and seemed to lack the knowledge necessary to work in the web sector at all.
I've currently been going back-and-forth with customer support to try to resolve an error with not being able to edit my DNS servers through the control panel. It seemed to me like something that could be easily fixed on their end, but - alas - I have so far had no resolution.
Feel free to take a gamble on their services if you value the low price, just hope that you never have the need for any assistance from OVH...

Not even worth 1 start.
Since opening an account, it has been a utter sham. It took them ages to verify my ID. Then they failed to transfer the domain and set up my hosting. I contacted them for support and it took over 2 weeks to get any reply which was no help or use whatsoever. I have asked for a refund which was then refused.

I had a security issue with my VPS and Craig resolved it for me very quickly, thanks very much

Prompt and professional service and company, take your security very seriously. Very competitively priced too, best I could find too.

Incredibly useless service. Support is worst I've ever seen. Basically a scam and a total waste of time. Dashboard is totally useless. Very cheap but still not worth it. Would not use it if they payed for it... The biggest mistake was that I even tried it :-(((( Be careful because their £ 50 free credit they promise all over the web is a scam actually to trick you into their service After you register they will tell you that it is already expired and will try to charge you for their useless service!!!! I only wanted their £ 3 cloud server but then they wanted me to send all of my id's and proof of address and for example "a copy of the payment card used revealing the first six and the last four digits," These are all after they already verified my Paypal account. Would you be happy to send these to get a £ 3 cloud server? Basically the first six digits and the last 4 means the full credit card number! I have account on AWS, Google cloud and they never wanted me to send something like this. These people are insane at OVH!

I decided to try OVH and move my website application over to a Windows VPS (8 cores - 8gb Ram). The setup was quick and easy but I noticed some very high ping issues and timeouts from 2ms to 3,000ms, the issues seem to be happening on and off for 20 minutes every couple of hours. I never had this issue with my previous host so I knew the problem was not with the application. CPU and Disk usage were very low ~10%, so it must have been a networking problem. I called support and they asked me to provide proof. I sent over screenshots of my ping requests but it was not good enough for them. They wanted me to enable my production server into "Rescue mode" which completely shuts down my web services just to run a basic iperf test. I can't do that because this is a production server and I have paying customers who use my application 24/7. The issue was very intermittent so I can't leave my server in the rescue mode all the time until the problem happens.
Support said the problem is not with them and its a problem my end.

I ended up moving servers to Azure Cloud over the weekend and now I am worry-free.
It's a shame because OVH have competitive pricing but I felt let down by their support.

Had a server with them for years. Been very smooth running. Had some downtime but support were very quick on resolving it.

Great help, super efficient

Ordered a dedicated server yesterday early afternoon. Chose carefully to make sure we picked one of the servers showing "Delivery from 120s" in the UK data centre.

Paid online, received an order confirmation by email along with a request to send in additional verification documents.

OK, it's a bit of a pain but I can see why it might be necessary to keep the nasties out of the OVH network.

Proof of address - check
Copy of payment card. Hmmm, ok - check
Copy of ID. Alright we're pushing it now but - check

All scanned in and emailed to OVH within the hour.

Response so far.....

Nothing.

Response to support ticket enquiring about order status.

Nothing.

Progress towards new server.

None.

Is there anyone actually in at OVH?

Who knows. No sign of life so far..

Update Day 3:

contact from Craig this morning who appears to manage the reviews. "order will be with you shortly". Wohooo.

Outcome

Nothing. Still waiting.

Nobody responded to me at all, ignoring email tickets. AVOID.

Edit: Now responded to very quickly, dealt with the issue and have said they're refunding my invoice. Let's see what happens next.
