This is a great gym & leisure centre, great staff & set up.
BUT...
The water in the pool IS NOT HEATED! OR THE SWIMMING AREA CHANGING ROOMS.
So it can be very cold, especially for young children and less active people..
It has been like this for years ( as confirmed my a member of staff) because they haven't fixed the broken unit.
But they still take their fees from long term members with no apologies or interest in fixing it

UPDATE.. THE MESSAGE BELOW ASKING FOR THE CENTER NAME?? IT WAS LEISTON..AND AS FAR AS IT BEING PAST ON.... THE CENTER HAS HAD MANY COMPLAINTS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE FOR OVER 5 YEARS !!!!

Great centre for all ages and lots to do for all

Aquafit with all teachers is great, but Sandro goes that bit further making sure we are exercising correctly.

The gym is very relaxed with people from all ages / stages of life. It is a welcoming environment for all ... no judgement no matter why you are there.

The staff are so friendly & always there to help.

All the staff make you feel welcome, they are all very friendly and the centre is very clean and great atmosphere

Balham Leisure Centre

The Leisure Centre has some great classes e.g. body Balance, body conditioning, Aqua robics, yoga, zumba gold, pilates to name but a few. The instructors are well experienced and will adapt accordingly to ability.

The main gym is fully equipped downstairs and upstairs, there are also smaller gyms with good range of equipment. They also provide steam and sauna. I have not used these facilities.

I use the pool. Always very clean, organised and great friendly and helpful staff.

Happy to help and teach and advise and support. Amazing team at Tooting leisure centre.

Yes it can get busy but there is plenty of equipment to use,

I have been going to Good Boost aqua sessions following hip surgery for rehab, very well organised , ipads easy to use , personalised programme , staff very friendly and helpful, Concordia is a lovely leisure centre

Excellent facility, very good gym, excellent instructor led classes and good value for money.

The gym is great but just not enough cardio machines... Walkers, only about 10 so your always waiting. Impossible at peak hrs.. Decent machines and classes are good, but sadly lacking in equipment quantities

I love my local leisure centre. Great service, cost effective, good facilities, friendly staff and wonderful classes and a good gym. It keeps me coming back.

Appallingly maintained and run establishment. You’re on you own from the moment you try to get parked. A shockingly inadequate and reactive maintenance program often leaves services unavailable for months. If there was an alternative, I’d choose it. Disinterested staff (interested in themselves and checking their social media presence, of course), otherwise expect ‘I don’t know’ as a response to almost every question.
Frankly, it’s poorly funded, poorly managed, poorly maintained and poorly staffed.

You’ll never get on a class that you want!! The gym is over subscribed and are now unable to provide a service that you promised me when I first joined. This problem has only happened within the last 6 months. It’s a shame ! I was very happy to do an annual payment , I don’t think I’ll be doing that again

The gym is okay, but the cost of membership is way too much to be justifiable now. Even with an NHS discount, I am paying £32 a month for a gym that is a. Not 24/7, b. Extremely busy 90% of the time and overrun by under 18s, c. Lack of popular equipment in some of the gyms (e.g. no hip thrust machine or assisted pull-up machine in Morpeth). Due to lack of equipment, it can be almost impossible to get on certain machines without literally standing and waiting beside it until the person using it is done, which is, of course, completely unfair on the person using the machine. For example, Morpeth only has one smith machine, but introducing another plus a hip thrust machine (as the smith machine is used for this very often as an alternative) would make the gym experience much better for a lot of people. There are many other gyms which are 24/7, have much more equipment and are cheaper in Newcastle, so the recent price increase for membership at Places is just unjustifiable.

Otherwise - never had any problems with gym cleanliness and the staff are always pleasant and helpful. The equipment that is there seems to be of a good standard.

I enjoy going into the gym and aqua classes.
