Good as is, potential for improvements and growth
Overall the concept is awesome and of coursebeneficial for people that don’t mind meeting strangers and saving a dollar or two on a trip, because you both just so happen to be going the same way!
However, especially with how uncertain times can be, there is atleast one safety factor, if not several, that seems to have been overlooked.
No where in the app did it confirm that I had car insurance.
Also, no background check was done, to judge whether or not I’m fit to be driving around strangers.
Another factor is, there was no confirmation that I was the correct person picking up the correct passenger, so I very well could have sent my friend in my place to take the trip for whatever reason.
The app was very appealing, and for the most part user friendly, although, as someone from Texas, it definitely doesn’t seem like someone from Texas designed certain details.
I genuinely look forward to seeing the app change and grow as it finds its place in today’s world of commerce and transportation, and I’ve absolutely loved playing a part in its development to date.

We always aim to keep pricing fair for both drivers and passengers. That’s why Poparide currently has a maximum contribution of ¢0.23 per kilometre, based on average fuel costs in Canada. You can read this article for more information: How to set a price for your trip
The maximum price is based on the average cost of gas in Canada and gives drivers room to ask for a higher contribution if their vehicle has a higher miles per gallon (MPG) rating.

Such a convenient and necessary service to make travel more affordable, enjoyable while we reduce our carbon footprint.
I hope that Poparide can be promoted and imbedded in Canadian cities’/towns’ transit options (much like Blabla car is in Paris and perhaps across Europe) to help give Canadians more sustainable transportation options.
