RAC Tyres Reviews

Site easy to navigate and ordering process efficient right through to fitting. Best price I could find for my specific Dunlop Sports Maxx RT2 Tyre with local fitter. Will definitely be using again.

Whilst RAC Tyres offered a competitive price, the overall service fell well short of expectations.

There was no communication whatsoever after booking. No confirmation email, no contact from the fitting centre and no updates about my appointment. Every conversation that followed happened because I had to chase them myself.

I called the fitting centre on the day of my appointment, only to be told that my tyre hadn’t arrived and that, unless it turned up, they wouldn’t be able to fit it. I suggested calling back later, which I did, only to be passed between several people while they tried to establish whether the tyre had been delivered.

During these conversations, I was also informed that my chosen appointment slot of 5–6pm was too late because the fitting centre closed at 5pm. Apparently, they had already informed RAC Tyres of this issue, yet the slot was still available to book online.

Eventually, someone confirmed that my tyre had arrived but insisted I get there as soon as possible.

Once I arrived, the tyre was fitted, but the premises were in an appalling state and the communication and organisation throughout had been extremely poor. Had I known what to expect, I certainly wouldn’t have chosen this fitting centre.

I appreciate that RAC Tyres cannot be held entirely responsible for the standards of an independent fitting centre. However, they are responsible for the booking experience, the accuracy of appointment availability and the communication customers receive after paying.

A competitive price is of little value when the customer is left to chase everything themselves. RAC Tyres needs to do considerably better, both in its own processes and in the standards it expects from its fitting partners.

Great fitter, very professional and completed work very quickly.

Fitter did not have me booked in the diary

Great prices, fantastic fitting. Car feels good with them on. Would definitely recommend.

The whole process was easy from Start to finish.
Finding and selecting the right tyre was easy.
As was the fitting process

Good tyre choice and prices. Good support to arrange fitting support. Trusted local fitters.

Looking for tyres to be fitted as soon as possible, came across RAC tyres at a good price and offering partner garages to fit them as soon as possible. Easy quick booking and no hidden fees

The whole process, from purchase to fitting, was great!

The garage I initially chose couldn’t accommodate me on the day, but Emma was warm, friendly and quickly sorted out another garage for me.

Really appreciated being able to speak to a real person rather than dealing with bots all the way through! 😊

Box Autos, Cumbernauld were professional, helpful and timely. I would do business with them again, and recommend them.

Great service from garage and easy to buy the tyres from RAC booked in for 8.30am had 4 tyres changed. Completed in the time slot I booked and professional and friendly. The tyres bought and fitted were a great price aswell same if not cheaper than anywhere else I could find fitted. booked through RAC tyres and paid they delivered and arranged the booking with garage I just turned up.

All went smoothly

Good selection of tyres online, fiiter is not RAC but I had an excellent local fitter come to the house. Very convenient to have the work done at home. You of course need space for the work to be done, and somewhere for the van to park by your vehicle. I'm very happy with everything. The £30 fitting fee was good value for me.

Friendly staff in protyre Swansea who quickly fit the cheap tyres provided by rac tyres

I booked my appointment on Friday for the Saturday, turned up to be told the garage was too busy and to come back Sunday, then on Sunday I was told the tyres had not actually been delivered.
Apparently RAC were aware of this on Friday night but had failed to contact me, as I found out on my call Monday morning. I was also told email info was wrong and they are not open on Saturday despite it saying this.
The tyres had still not been delivered as of Monday morning and I asked to cancel- I have been told this takes 6 working days on the phone however received an email after advising they will not refund until the garage has returned the tyres. This is wholly unacceptable and not the service I would expect. All round terrible. I will use a local reliable service and avoid RAC tyres all together in future.
I have emailed this complaint over this morning to try and get my money refunded and to raise these issues, Leaving this review to advise others to avoid as it the tyres do not arrive in time you will be out of pocket for at least a week, and hoping the garage returns the tyres.

Very happy all round - a very good price on a premium brand tyre, arrived on time and quickly fitted at an independent tyre centre fairly local to me.

I bought two tyres with mobile fitting and they were supposed to have been fitted yesterday (all confirmed in an email). No one turned up - no phone call or communication. I’ve left two messages with “the fitter” - no response, just goes to voicemail each time. It’s appalling service. Due to a puncture I can’t drive the car. Won’t be buying from RAC tyres again and would not recommend.

Very good friendly service
