Sharp Practice at Best and Dishonest at Worst
I ordered two items shown as being in stock and ready to send.
The website displays the Royal Mail logo under "Delivery" as well as the DPD logo. I asked Turner not to use DPD but said RM would be fine only to be told that my order would be sent by FedEx. I wasn't told the items weren't in stock at all.
After three full days I chased the order and only then was I told the items weren't in stock and would need to be ordered. The wording of the email suggested the future tense.
In my view offering items for sale as being in stock when they aren't is dishonest. Not telling a customer at the first opportunity is further dishonesty. I have no reason to believe that these chancers would ever have told me they'd sold items they didn't have if I hadn't chased the order.
Sam Turner duped me in to making a purchase I would not have made if they'd told the truth and I really doubt I'm the only victim.
Avoid this company. Personally, I'd rather brush my teeth with stinging nettles than use Sam Turner & Sons again.

They were supposed to supply the missing parts. Still not received the strimmer head ,gave me a link to download and print the manual.
What a shit show of a company

Ordered Item from website, however the item description was totally wrong and wrong expensive item was sent. Refused delivery as instructed by them a month after originally ordered they have still not refunded the item. Continuely fobbed of that they have to wait for it to be returned to supplier then oh you should get a refund soon. Sorry this was your mess and I am left £500 out of pocket .

Terrible customer care, avoid
Bought a pair of relatively expensive Barbour wellington boots from this place for my partner. They lasted just under 3 months before they started leaking, due to the heel being worn down and taking in water. Sent back to be told “it’s wear and tear nothing we can do”. I was clearly being fobbed off, occasional wear over 3 months cannot be considered “wear and tear” for a product which is marketed as robust, and at such a price point.
I responded quoting my statutory rights, and that failure of such an item up to 6 months should be then be with the supplier to prove there was not a manufacturing issue.
I was then fobbed of again via email chases for a fortnight, being told twice that the issue was “escalated to a manager”.
I then phoned them asking for an update to finally be issued a full refund.
Really bad customer service. Avoid.

Purchased a generator 4 kW on sale . They sent a 3kw and basically told me I either send it back for a refund or keep it because I stated it wasn't what I purchased off there website . False advertising on the website please see attached photos and no effort to rectify it what so ever . Sam turner and son a 3 kW generator is not equivalent to a 4kw . If anything any reputable ckmpany would swallow the difference and provide a better unit not a lesser unit ... Awful company avoid as much as you can I will certainly be taking my buisness else where and the company has been reported to trading standards for misleading advertising. And will be following up with legal action

I bought a hat from this company quite late on Thursday evening and collected it on Saturday.
The purchase process was easy and I used ApplePay instead of filling out forms. I was given several choices for mailing and I elected to pick it up at the local Co-op. The shipping costs were quite reasonable and DPD did the delivery.
Comparing it to the Amazon, I didn’t have to have a minimum purchase of £35 (£20 for prime members) & didn’t have to sit on my hands and wait for them to decide when they want to deliver. So I take my new hat off to this company for excellent service.

What an excellent service. I ordered a barbour ladies jacket. Came the next day. So I ordered another one. I can't thank them enough. Fantastic service from start to finish thank you so much 💓 highly recommend to family friends and work colleagues.

I made a purchase for a total of £91.75 for some pest control products for my company on the 13th of Feb 2026. I have used them a number of times.
After 2 weeks of my delivery still not arriving, I called them up to find out where my delivery was.
The customer service lady told me it was delivered a week ago and gave me an address of where it was delivered to by DPD. The address was not correct.
Thank god I used PayPal to pay for the items, because my correct address is registered with them and it was also on the invoice.
I pointed out to customer service that my correct address is on the invoice, so why has it been delivered to an unknown address? She agreed with me and said she would call up the delivery company and find out what has gone wrong.
I was called back and told that the delivery company they used stated that Sam Turner & Sons had 7 days to make a claim on lost items, and as they haven't done that, there's nothing they can do.
Because of this, Sam Turner & Sons customer service lady tried turning it around on me, saying there's nothing they can do for me. Saying I had 7 days to report not recieving my order to them. In other word, I have to accept a loss of £91.75. They are not willing to do anything for me. What an absolute load of nonsense.
I asked them, how on earth is it my fault that the delivery company they used didn't deliver to the correct address? All I kept getting from the women was, sorry, unfortunately, there's nothing we can do for you, like she was a stuck record.
This is when you know how good a company is. When something goes wrong and you need help.
I asked to speak with the manager or director Sam Turner himself. Their excuse was there's no one available.
They have now lost hundrends of pounds of my business, as I will never use them again for any products for my pest control company.
How the hell can you justify sending items to the wrong address being the customer fault?
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. THEY REFUSE TO HELP YOU EVEN WHEN IT'S CLEARLY THEIR FAULT.
PayPal is on the case now.
Great Company
Purchased some £81 Barbour wellies 5 months ago, despite them having very-very little use the sole split away from the top of the boot making them non water tight and useless/not fit for purpose, The company sent me pre paid label for their return to them for replacement.

Great place for Ifor Williams spares. They had everything I needed to get the brakes and hubs sorted out on my trailer, genuine spares which are a standard price across suppliers. Dave's expertise in helping identify correct spares made the whole process less confusing and will hopefully mean I can get the job done in one go and the trailer back on the road. The free delivery also differentiated them from others and the delivery was quick and without hassle.

Faulty Carhartt clothing, described as normal!
I had a very poor experience with this company. Initially, their team approved a return of a faulty item based on the evidence I provided. Relying on that agreement, I returned the jacket. However, after receiving the item, the company changed their position and reclassified the return as non-faulty without informing me beforehand.
They did not proactively communicate this change of decision. I only discovered this when the refund was processed incorrectly, and I had to chase up the issue myself. This caused unnecessary delays and wasted time.
The item had loose threads that repeatedly caught in the zip, affecting its ability to function properly. Despite this, the company stated that it was acceptable for the Carhartt range and treated the product as fit for sale. Based on this experience, I would recommend using a different supplier for Carhartt equipment, as this company appears to consider faulty goods to be acceptable.
Although they eventually agreed to refund the return fee, this required multiple emails and escalation, despite it being something that should have been handled correctly from the outset.
Overall, this company wastes time, has poor communication, and makes inconsistent decisions. I will not be using them again.
Poor Customer Service
Customer service rep seemingly did not read my messages fully and their messages lacked clarity and relevance which led to a pointless back and forth delaying the resolution of a very simple issue. They also didn't refund p&p despite the courier being at fault for the missed delivery. And they gaslit me for suggesting they didn't understand my message.
Excellent service
This company is absolutely amazing. I ordered pair of shoes on Saturday and received them on Monday. I initiated return process which is easy and straightforward. I decided to keep the shoes at the end as they fit very well with insoles. Thank you Sam Turner & Sons!

Sent an item that was clearly a prior customer's return which was faulty. Firm refused to pay for the return postage costs. Wish I had read the other reviews before buying from them and won't be buying form them again!
