I'm informing other people who are thinking about purchasing a e-voucher via the new Tesco website. The company who are Tesco's affiliated company for gift cards/e-voucher are BLACKHAWK HOLDINGS LTD.
Go into a Tesco store to physically purchase your gift cards if possible, but avoid buying on line, as you may not get your order.
10th December 2024, I ordered a Tesco voucher for my Daughter. Value £100. I paid, but had no receipt, just a transaction number. Monies were taken out of my bank. My Daughter still hasn't received the evoucher. Its now the 18th December, and trying to get in touch with BLACKHAWK HOLDINGS LTD is near impossible. I have left a review on their trustpilot page, and initially I thought great, as they responded to say sorry, and would I follow the link they send, via my email address. This I have done 3 times, and yet, no response. I think the reply is an AI one, so I doubt I'd ever get the issue sorted.
I've emailed Tesco head office.
I have now contacted my bank through their chat online, and raised a dispute with BLACKHAWK HOLDINGS LTD. My bank have been brilliant and they refunded me the £100, and are now raising their action against BLACKHAWK HOLDINGS LTD. Tesco should be ashamed they are using this company to sell their gift cards etc. Utter disgrace and tantamount to theft, taking peoples money and no goods to show for it.

Appalling Service!! There's no point in a site that sells gift cards if it's not capable of selling gift cards! I tried for half an hour to buy gift cards. Apparently the enhanced verification system that they use says I probably don't exist. In the end I had to go to other online sites to buy Tesco gift cards as the Tesco affiliated site wasn't up to the job. And as for customer service to assist you? Good luck with that! If I hadn't promised to give gift cards from Tesco I would just have gone to Asda/Sainsbury's/Aldi - anywhere but here. Never again!!

I tried for several days to buy some gift cards online that were on a promo offer, but the site kept giving me a rejection message due to security issues. It was impossible that I could not pass their security when I did not even pass their 2nd stage. So I got a few others to try, and they had the same issues.

I got in touch with the contact section, but I heard nothing. My husband did the same and heard nothing. I reached out to Tesco, and they wanted nothing to do with this as they say it's a 3rd party company handling this for them, and they cannot contact them. But they assured me that I would not miss out on the promotion and that the response time would be 1-3 days. Again, none of this was true. Tesco, whose brand is all over this, says it has no way of contacting them. Does anyone else believe that?

As Tesco suggested, I sent two emails and asked them to escalate the issue, which I did initially. The company finally got in touch towards the end of the promotion and tried to lay blame at my door, saying I was doing something wrong. Ridiculous. After several emails, they tried fobbing me off. Neither Tesco nor this company will take responsibility.

We have enough evidence now to report them to various bodies for investigation. Absolutely stay away from them!!!!

I have been buying tesco online giftcards for years to help my kids out.
Suddenly, the procedure looked different and on the final payment screen I became aware I was paying a third party.
I cancelled and started again as I thought I was on a scam website.
Same happened again.
I paid this time, and my son got his gift voucher ok.
But I got a cash transaction fee on my card.
Hopeless. No warning.
I'll give Tesco a miss from now on.

Rather sadly I did manage to buy two (I have been trying to buy more but thankfully couldn’t) I checked my credit card statement this afternoon and have two cash transaction fees, when I called my credit card company it was linked to the two vouchers, they had processed them as a cash transaction so I was charged £3.20 and £6.39 and I have to pay interest on it!!! No warning an extra charge will be incurred if you pay by CC, I have bought these previous years and had no additional charges. What a rip off.

Awful since they have updated their website. I cannot even purchase an e gift card, i haven't even put in my card details and it declines the payment. I have used the contact form three times in the last week and still no response. If I could give no stars I would.
Edit to say the third company have finally got in touch. Absolutely no interest in resolving the issue. I was told I hadn't passed the security checks and there was nothing they could do and I have to go to Tesco to buy physical gift cards.

Unlike other bad reviews on here, I haven't had any problems spending my gift cards because I can't even buy them in the first place. I get to the checkout and it immediately says payment declined even though I haven't been asked for any payment details. Have tried on my pc and my phone and tried a different email address. Tried every day for the last 4 days and cleared my cache. Useless website. I guess I'll purchase my giftcards elsewhere.

Tesco have switched their e-gift cards to a third party who you can only contact via contact form (although initially form was still under construction). Put in wrong email address for recipient and no response when logged so logged another contact form yesterday asking for refund instead and still no response. When you contact Tesco themselves the phone line just steers you to the gift card website if you've purchased the gift card after a certain date which we did. Absolutely hopeless

Similar to other people’s experience gift cards purchased but when trying to use them they don’t work. Spent £200 on gift cards and was able to download them immediately but then a month later when trying to spend them it came up with an error message or said page not found. Gift cards were for Pizza Hut and on their end it showed balance of zero. I would avoid purchasing these as I am still chasing a refund!

Received a £50 gift card from the council, some genius is having a laugh at my expense can't be used online and I'm disabled so can't use it in store.
Wish I could give the £50 back to the tax payers

I spent £50 on a Tesco e-gift card to allow my elderly fathers carers to shop for him without needing to use cash. They tried to use it in store but were told it was invalid. I called Tesco four times. I was cut off twice, told it had been cancelled, told it didn’t exist, before eventually being refunded after about 3 weeks. What is going on?! I won’t be buying again.

Fraud do not use!!!! Lost £80

Bought two cards, scheduled for birthday presents on consecutive days, both times can’t access at the scheduled delivery time as your maintaining planned web site issues!!! Why didn’t you block off the schedule on purchasing as you knew you were going to be doing maintenance! Spent a lot of money and this is totally Unacceptable

Useless card was given one for Xmas you can’t spend it it’s a useless item called the Tesco gift card help line and was told they don’t deal with gift cards 😂😂 what a total joke Tesco it’s a con

I bought their egift card in the amount of £50.00 but never received by our service user. I called their customer service about this, they give me reference number but they never work out. I will never buy gift card from them again.

I purchased two wayfair e-gift cards last week. I tried for 2 days to purchase an item with the gift cards, it kept saying we are experiencing technical difficulties, try again in a few minutes. I have contacted wayfair 5 times over the last week, sent them emails with screen shots of the gift cards and got fobbed off each time. After a week wayfair never sorted it out for me, so I’ve just had to phone up Tescos and ask for a refund. Do not purchase wayfair e-gift cards. Update: I phoned up Tescos on the 14th December, I am still waiting for my refund over two weeks later. Shocking from Tescos. I phoned up Tescos on the 31st December, they said that I used the gift cards when I didn’t, they said somebody will get back to me that same day and they didn’t. I have just phoned back up and they are still looking into it. It’s been 3 weeks since I asked for a refund.

Three times i tried to buy an e gift card off the Tesco.com website, for Tesco, and three times it wasn't able to process the payment. Effing useless.

I was given an Amazon gift card purchased from a Tesco store but was not activated. I contacted amazon they informed their records show that they can see where and when the gift card was purchased from but was not activated. I Contacted Tesco head office they said there is nothing they can do. So they have a free £30!!!! The kind person who brought a gift card in good faith they were giving a present only gave Tesco £30. If Amazon can see where it was purchased from why are Tesco’s unable to do anything but have £30 in their pocket. Lesson learnt for me is never buying a gift card from Tesco.
