The food was delivered well packaged and fresh. It was quality meat and tasted lovely. The only issue was the sausages were missing from the bbq packs but I was received a refund no questions asked.

Always better than the supermarket for quality. Topped up this order with meat balls to get to the cheaper postage bracket. They are large balls! Just defrosted one and squashed it to make a beef burger - very nice with the delicate herbs included. Chest freezer overflowing with steak, chicken breast, meat balls and all the rest. Sorted through to Christmas.

Delivery man emmanuel left meat on doorstep. Im 76 yes old and could not lift box.

Tried several times to get slaughter house codes, for animal welfare issues, we're trying not to eat any religiously slaughtered meat, only full non recoverable stunned, but Fat Butcher have skirted around the issue and refused to provide the codes, we can only conclude their meat is RS meat and we are no longer customers, transparency is important.

This is tricky because the quality of the meat is very good, but the packaging lets it down somewhat. The overall packaging is very good, but it’s the individual items that need to be improved. One of my favourite items is the minted lamb chump chops, they are exceptional, but the package leaked into the main compartment. This was the first time I’d ordered the burgers and again the package was split and the burgers squashed. My other favourite items are the Cumberland sausages and fillet steaks, which are both very tasty.

Review: Meaty Madness Meat Hamper
I recently purchased the Meaty Madness Meat Hamper, and overall, my experience was mixed.

Steaks
The steaks were pleasant in flavour, but far thinner than expected. Personally, I would have preferred four thicker steaks instead of eight thin ones. As delivered, it was impossible to achieve a proper crust while still cooking them to medium‑rare or below — they were simply too thin to handle high heat.

Bacon
The bacon arrived swimming in white liquid, which was disappointing. Once cooked, it shrank to around half its original size, suggesting a high water content rather than proper curing.

Chicken Legs
The chicken legs were on the smaller side, but the marinade was exceptional on both portions. Great flavour, just lacking in size.

Sausages
I passed the sausages on to a family member due to the fillers, as I follow a low‑carb diet. They may suit others, but they weren’t right for me.

Value & Presentation
I don’t feel short‑changed for the price paid; however, the product imagery is misleading. The hamper photo gives an impression of larger, more substantial cuts, and doesn’t accurately reflect what arrives. It borders on a Trade Descriptions Act issue — people buy with their eyes, not by reading weight labels.

Delivery
My delivery was delayed by three days, which added to the overall average experience.

Final Thoughts
While some elements were enjoyable, the hamper didn’t meet expectations in terms of presentation, cut quality, or curing standards. Moving forward, I’ll stick with a local butcher and dry‑cured bacon, where quality and consistency are more reliable.

Avoid working for or shopping with The Fat Butchers/food direction limited. My partner still hasn't received his final wages despite repeated attempts to resolve it. This happened a week after our son passed away. The matter is now in legal proceedings.

I previously had a fairly average experience and left another review (poor customer service and two items which weren't up to scratch), HOWEVER, Fat Butcher reached out and rectified the issue and I have since purchased twice. On both occasions the meat arrived on time and was fresh and perfect. The latest delivery was today and it looks great! So 5 stars to them and here's a new review for them.

The last order was disappointing it was the mystery box all the products added up to the price I paid not the discount that was offered. After lots of great deals this one fell short and most of the meat was the bbq range which I could have got for less. Will not be buying this again. Be aware of this offer.

Upon taking mince meat out freezer (3 bags separate occasions) it was all grey and rancid with a chemical smell. Not happy in the slightest!

The Fat Butcher made it so easy to order online, the order was delivered on time and well packaged. The meat in side was of great quality would order again.

After my partner emailed you directly to sort out our order that never arrived like you asked, you told us we would get it delivered again to which we picked the day we wanted so we would be in. Again nothing. Then finally you gave in to giving us a refund. Today we received an email to say that our refund would be given within the next few days. £ 8.99

What sort of business are you running. We have received nothing and all you are refunding us is the delivery fee. No goods received. So you’re keeping the rest of the money on what basis??
This is by far the worst company I’ve ever ordered from. Daylight robbery. I’ll be contacting my bank and I’ll be making a phone call to trading standards. How you can steal people’s hard earned money is beyond me. Disgusting behaviour from a business owner!!!!

If I could give zero stars i would. I have ordered from The Fat Butcher a few times and was really happy with the meat. My last order however, was not delivered to the correct property and left outside another block of flats in a busy area. The parcel was never received. I contacted The Fat Butcher and was asked to complete a form, this was done within 24 hours. Dispute numerous chasers no response was received until today. A member of the team called Darren emailed to say what do I expect the courier to do if I was not home? Well not only was someone home waiting on the delivery, the delivery driver buzzed the incorrect block of flats and left the parcel outside the incorrect block of flats. Also, this was left in direct sunlight. The customer service is disgusting, a right shame really as the meat itself it good. I will be going elsewhere and also telling family and friends to do the same.

The standard of the food is amazing and the drivers are absolutely lovely to from the amazing offer and price to suit everyone and im hoping to grab a mystery box when it comes up next . Ive recommend u to my friends 🧡

Have ordered previously,didnt have any issues,,but this time been really hacked off,,between an issue with delivery,so appointed another time,,,then an email,,wasnt put through,so 3rd nominated day,arrived earlier and actually only found out through an email saying been delivered,,,No it wasnt?,I live in a tenement,so went downstairs,lo and beyhold box was left in the street,outside tenement building,,NO ATTEMPT EVEN TO RING THE BUZZER FOR ENTRY,sorry but I find this unacceptable,,,,also the meat mustve been frozen? But when I opened box all defrosted apart from a few ice particles,,Sorry but this has put me off ordering form you again,are plenty other places can purchase from,,,your standards have gone right downhill
