Could not have a better experience
Could not have a better experience. I moved from Westen Washington to Tennessee this summer and had 3 U-boxes transport my belongings. Before actual transport U-haul kept them in dry storage for a couple of months for a very reasonable cost. Excellent communications & updates. Drop off, pick up, transport time and delivery, every step done right. I was concerned about delivery down my sloped driveway but by the time I was home the boxes were in the spot I requested and even in a better orientation than I indicated.
Would not hesitate to use them again and recomment to family and friends.

My experience with U-Haul was an absolute disaster, and PODS wasn’t much better. U-Haul canceled my reservation multiple times without any clear explanation, leaving me in a panic to find alternatives at the last minute. When I tried to contact their customer service, I was stuck on hold for over an hour each time, with no resolution provided. To add to the frustration, I received random text messages from U-Haul dealers containing unidentified links and information, which felt unprofessional and suspicious. PODS, while slightly more reliable in terms of delivery, still fell short with poor communication and unexpected delays in scheduling. The entire process with both companies was chaotic, unreliable, and incredibly stressful. I strongly recommend avoiding U-Haul and PODS for any moving needs.

The experience is as good as expected. Uhaul is the go to for moving and moving stuff. I would still note two things. Check your km and fuel and report it BEFORE you leave if it doesn't match your receipt. Mine was off one km and although it was only $1, I told them after I dropped the vehicle off just fyi. They told me fyi, no picture proof, no adjustment. Second, uHaul really needs to fix their fuel gauges. I rented a 15' truck a few weeks ago and drove about 90 km and fuel cost me $20. I rented a van (which is smaller) just two days ago and drove about 25km and it cost me $10 and the price was cheaper for gas! At first the gauge showed full even before I filled it but I put in $5 anyway. Then the gauge dropped when I checked so I added $5 more. Then the gauge was overfull upon return. Ridiculous!

I really wish I could give 0 stars. Everytime I’ve had to use uhaul, they screw me over with extra charges which really throw everything off when you're…..you know….moving.
This time I made a reservation for my current town. They dont tell me until TWO days before that actually, there is none in my town and told me Id have to drive nearly two hours to pick up the uhaul. That drive was longer than the drive to my new house.
On top of that, they were going to charge me for the extra miles until I said something. The price I was told when I reserved was $180. Go two hours to pick it up because what else can I do and now? Now the price is $220. Cool. They also overcharge for their boxes (go to Menards for a better deal.)
I will be avoiding using uhaul again with every fiber of my being.

Uhaul Is becoming very proud of their trucks. I recently rented their smallest truck at $19.95 per day to move my son from University in Boulder, CO to Grand Junction, CO. I was charged $619.00 for the one day rental. After adding fuel costs I could have hired a moving company to do the short haul and load out. I've rented luxury cars in Los Angeles that were a fraction of that cost with unlimited miles for a 24 hour period. I rented a brand new mini van for one entire week, driving from Grand Junction, CO to Chicago and back for a total of $900.00. I just don't get it. A crappy, dirty, stinky truck with zero shocks and non existent comfort for more $$$ than renting a Porsche for 24 hours. This will be the last time I rent from Uhaul. Customers are getting tired of being gouged at every angle.

- reserved furniture dolly along with a truck. When I came to pick up the truck the dolly appeared to be not available. Moving plans half ruined.
- They still charged me for the dolly. Was trying to reach customer support and they kept me hanging on a phone endless by putting on hold.
- There was no key drop off box upon returning the truck. I found myself stuck late in the night without knowing what to do.

So I reserved a storage unit online for Havana, IL 62644. When I get to a property a few days later I find 3 water soaked cardboard boxes in front of my home. I only reserved a storage unit and absolutely zero supplies. I am billed $127 for an order I did not make. I called U-haul customer service, who did not help me. I emailed U-haul several times and they did not respond. This is the worst customer service I have ever received from any company ever!

Terrible customer service. Rented a 10ft truck, but the actual mileage and gas amount were incorrect. I reported it immediately to them, but they won't do anything to solve the issue. I was told that Final Destination will take care of that? I called customer service immediately to report the issue and after she verified my concern, she wrote a note for the U-Haul return destination to correct it. Upon return, the guy didn`t want to hear my complaint, so I had to call customer service again. Lady on the phone, explain to the guy that Mileage had a discrepancy as well as the gas amount (picture taken on pick up presented to the guy), but after I dropped vehicle, nothing changed. Few minutes later, I received an email with a receipt, with a 10-mile extra charge. By the way, I went to the gas station and added 1 gallon to match what they put on the paper. Called custoimer service for the third time, but I already left comment to Gilbert. This was really disrespectful experience from Uhaul. I`ll report this fraud to my Bank.
Don’t waste your time with U-Haul
I rented an enclosed trailer from U-Haul and I specifically selected a 24hr drop off zone. Not only did they fail to mention that if you drop it off any time after the exact time you picked it up you get fined another day, but they charged me for 2 extra days! I called them 4 times and while they answered the phone I was never called back and never refunded for the extra 2 days that they charged me(I returned it 2hrs after the time I rented 3 days prior). Every time I called they said they’d have a manager call me and not to my surprise, nothing. No calls back and no refund. I used to rent from them in the past and I stopped, because of previous issues I have had with them but after having taken a very long break from using U-Haul and this happening my first time using them again, I am no longer going to support such a garbage business. Terrible people skills, and very poor management. I will refer anyone who asks to a literal homeless person with a shopping kart before I refer U-Haul. You guys suck.

So I called and they issued 132 dollar refund informed me I reserved the 26 ft truck which I did not and no 10 ft was available at that location so I had to stay on the phone and go to another location where the computers were down so it took 2 hours to even get the truck then I got charged almost 200 dollars for the rental .they still continue to say I selected 26 ft truck and the 2nd location smelled like weed

INCOMPÉTENTS! Il nous a fallu 20 minutes avant qu’on nous prenne en charge, puis 40 minutes pour une simple réservation… qui n’a même jamais fonctionné. L’agent avait de la difficulté à écrire correctement nos noms (vraiment!), mais le pire, c’est qu’il était incapable de nous expliquer pourquoi la réservation ne fonctionnait pas, tout en nous regardant fixement comme si c’était à nous de régler le problème. Aucune initiative, aucune solution proposée.
Résultat : 1h15 de perdue pour absolument rien. On avait sincèrement l’impression de les déranger.
Heureusement, un autre centre U-Haul (celui sur Crémazie) a été ultra rapide et a réglé notre situation en quelques minutes.

We had reserved a 20' UHAUL truck at a spot in town that opened at 8 a.m. for pickup. The day prior to pickup, Uhaul called and sent me to another spot in town to get the truck but they didn't open until 9 a.m. On the day of pickup, me and the driver of the truck were at the place at 8:50 a.m. No one ever showed up at this location. I called UHAUL several times and there information showed the business was open; they got a hold of the entity and it turns out they were not open that day. We worked through the APP and it's an app that would sit and spin more than do anything. Horrible experience all the way around!

I scheduled to reserve a 20' UHaul 5 days in advance and then was called the day before my move and was told the closest availability was over an hour away. The customer rep was rude, unsympathetic, and the service was terrible. UHaul is an absolute joke

Nothing wrong with the uhaul truck but the mover that came with a U-Haul truck was the worst ever. Never in my life had such a rude mover. He charged $480. For 4 hours and $850 for 5 hours.
He was a liar and a thief. He didn’t do anything asked him to do he just threw everything in the storage unit but made a huge mess. No order to it like I requested at the start. He took off the legs of couch and chair and took apart the ikea bed but he has no idea where the legs and screws are… Never again and I would never recommend U-Haul or their movers which was advertised on Facebook…
UHaul - turning a stressful day into a nightmare.
For my moving day I was supposed to pickup the truck in Brandon, MB. They accepted the reservation at the location I chose. On moving day however they suddenly didn't have the equipment there, and instead made me drive 80km out of town each way to get the vehicle, adding another 160km round trip (including my own personal vehicle). I was then also expected to pay for the extra gas myself, in addition to my own personal vehicle. That also robbed me of 2 hours on moving day when we needed all the time we could get. That is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable.
I was only told about this 24 hours before my move-in day, with no choice to go with another company (which I ABSOLUTELY will next time). The reservation should never have been accepted in Brandon if equipment was not available - but instead you essentially LIED to me to secure my business - now you've lost a future customer FOR LIFE.
I am seeking a refund for the fuel surcharge charged to me because I returned the vehicle with the same amount of gas, minus the extraneous trip from Virden to Brandon Manitoba. In addition, I am seeking compensation for personal vehicle mileage & 2 hours of personal time.
Delayed Ubox, overcharged, bad customer service
We used the U-Haul box service for a move, and the things were delivered late. We got overcharged by a month where our things were not even in storage anymore. Customer service is unreachable and did not get back to us on these issues even after multiple inquiries.

reserved a 20ft truck out of Cedar Rapids (month in advance) and they gave it to someone 3 days before my rental, called and told me i had to drive to Cedar Falls for my truck. that's back/forth 3 hours out of my way just to get a truck i reserved from my own city originally. not to mention gas/miles. they took a total of 40 off my rental price to compensate along with agreeing not to charge me for the extra miles driving back to CR. that's it. 3 hours there/back, making someone else take me to drop me off, my time, their time, gas in my car AND the Uhaul. all to save $40. 1000% ridiculous, the "traffic" person calling you gives ZERO crap and was rude. one gal in the CR site tried to help, however wasn't able to. cudos to her/at least she tried. my reservation also stated CR as my pick-up location. canceled the uhaul reservation, went with Penske. unlimited miles/truck guaranteed AND they came close to matching the price of the U-haul quote. If i could give uhaul a big fat ZERO, here i would.
Security risk
Rented a truck for a few hours. After return and invoiced, my information and credit card were used to make online purchases. After cancelling card and clearing with bank I called U-Haul to let them know what happened at this location or with their network and was told it’s not their problem. I would never recommend giving any information to any U-Haul because their security sucks or their locations are run by criminals, hard to tell which is worse.
