Customer Service …..What Customer Service!
Well I wouldn’t even give them 1 star. Been trying for ages now to organise a new water meter fitted after receiving extortionate bills. My bills spiralled after a meter was changed over a year ago.
I’ve had Utilities staff come round saying we have high usage. Which I know we don’t use as much as the bill state. And their staff have checked for leaks, which there was none. Advised regarding getting a new meter but still waiting for this to happen.
The stop clock doesn’t work, so I hope I don’t get a massive leak whilst waiting for help! Worse thing that ever happened was the metering of water!

The extra mile.
Very prompt response i.e. the same day. Not only did they look at the problem I raised bu they also decided to check another UU hatch. They used a camera on what was is a sewer pipe and discovered a fracture in the pipe under ground. I have beena ble to arrange for repair following their advice. Very grateful.

Engineer called. Said he couldn't do the job because a neighbour's home was linked and would also need power cutting off. I'm sure that info would have been available before the visit and we could have informed the neighbour.

Great service over the phone
Moved into a new property and was unable to find the water meter - spoke to Caris over the phone who was incredibly helpful and friendly. Answered all of my questions over the course of 20 or so minutes. Couldn't have asked for anything more - thank you!

The person on the phone was very…good
The person on the phone was very helpful and put me InTouch with the right eople to sort my complaint. I wasn't happy and they understood why. I felt that I should have been informed that the that would take place would have an impact on me as I can't park my car on the drive and the mess they left was an absolute disgrace, even the men that have been since have commented on the mess. I'm still annoyed they didn't even give me a clean walk way on to my drive I went out with 5 buckets of water and brush in pouring rain. The date of my complaint was the 30/10/2026 this was the day after the work was done and not finished.

Faultless Service
Council workmen accidentally broke a man hole cover on my drive at 9am on a Saturday morning. They apologised and said they'll get it sorted. United Utilities arrived at 2pm and checked the damage and said a temporary cover will be arranged on the next working day. 8pm Saturday night, United Utilities returned and fitted a heavy cover safe enough to drive on. What more can I say. Faultless service.
