On entering wickes on Sunday morning, I asked if they could remove the padlock to buy a 4ft x 6ft fence panel.
I was told at the counter by the customer service till I had to manoeuvre it myself as they don't unlock the padlock.
Being slightly disabled due to an operation I found it very hard to remove the panel.
And the customer service disappointing.
If all your staff are like this you should be ashamed to call them staff and retrain them.
I,m glad all people at hedge end store are not like that.

The kitchen design and service received by the kitchen designer Lee Miller was excellent.
The installation of the kitchen was very good too. The finished kitchen is to a very high standard.
There were a few delays in getting the kitchen completly finished, which is why this is a 4* and not a 5* rating.
Firstly due to delay within Wicks for delivering 2 items, that needed replacing as the originals were damaged, arriving after the installers finish date. Fortunately, they were able to come back 2 weeks later to fit them.
Secondly, it took nearly 2 months to resolve the installation of the extractor issue.
However I would recommend Wicks kitchens to friends and family as we are very happy with the final result.

The kitchen was designed and specified with the help of Katie Dacombe, Design Consultant. Katie was very knowledgeable about the products and their combinations. This made the decisions much simpler. Where products were unavailable off the shelf, Katie researched and sourced alternatives.
She took a keen interest in the build and finished product.

Ordered my kitchen from Wickes in Hedge end and the designer called Katie helped me choose my kitchen and colours etc. she was very knowledgeable and helpful, she came to our house and we talked through my ideas and practical things which would work, after ordering etc 8 weeks later I met my Builder who was brilliant and throughout and very professional at building my kitchen, organising the relevant jobs to be done I.e electrical etc. and I now have a lovely kitchen so pleased with it

Katie in sales / design was great to deal with and very helpful and supportive. The delivery team likewise were excellent and a credit to the company.
However.
Our experience with the Wickes fitting quality was dreadful, with 4 of the main products (bath/sink/shower tray & toilet) being damaged during and toward the end of the project. Likewise the amount of wasted tiles - which we paid for - were staggering.
Following this (bearing in mind we had recorded & communicated our concerns) the experience and subsequent “compensation” offer from the customer care team has been nothing short of dreadful.
We won’t ever be using Wickes again & would strongly recommend others consider other options first.

We couldn't be happier with the service we received from Lee. We came to him with a complex brief involving a kitchen refit and a knock-through into our garage for a utility room. Lee listened intently to everything we needed and designed the space beautifully. He was incredibly proactive in finding the best solutions to fit our budget without compromising on quality. A lovely, polite, and courteous professional—thank you, Lee!

Holly Hawley was friendly, helpful and professional. She had an extensive knowledge of the all bathroom products available. We also selected flooring and wall tiles. The plans she produced were great - it is obvious that she listened to our likes and dislikes and also to our needs.
We are looking forward to the complete refit of our en-suite - all very exciting.
Really impressed with her level of expertise and performance.

I had a very frustrating experience at Wickes. We booked kitchen design for an hour slot however for a hour appointment we have finished less than 5 minutes. The staff member spoke to showed little interest to help . We bought design paper from B&Q due to kitchen measurements. The staff members told us that this is not point we do a design as Wickes will never able to do kitchen cheaper than B&Q. we found after discount both shop has similar price . For the business. If your own staff are directing customers to competitors, it reflects very badly on the business.
Overall, I felt undervalued as a customer and would not recommend Wickes based on this experience.

We are in the process of having a Wickes complete Bathroom installation.
We have had many quotes from individual companies which were coming in high and where we had to organise materials and specialist trades such as plasterers separately. The pricing and management of the bathroom installation was becoming over complicated and costly.
So we came to Wickes, and have loved the experience of having the design carried out, ordering of all materials, programming of all the trades, along with the finance package all completed under 1 roof so we don’t need to individually chase everything together.
On top of this you deal with the same designer throughout who will coordinate each step and check up on progress to make sure everything runs smoothly. We have enjoyed the experience of working with Katie at Wickes in Hedge End who has been amazing.
If only we took this step first.

She was quick to bring our ideas to life and add her advice on what would work best. The showroom in Hedgend is bigger than most Wickes so was good to see the products we were buying. On Friday I went in store to order 2 closeboard fence panel and 2 wooden gravel boards to be delivered the next day (Saturday). At 7.45am the boards arrived and the panels were feather boards completely wrong, but the delivery driver said that the featherboard were now called closeboards and visa versa as they had changed the names this year, he said I had to go back instore to order the correct ones, so I told them to return them which they did. Immediately I went back in store I saw the manager Sam and she ordered the correct ones (Which were still called closeboard) and said she would do the refund a bit later. At 3pm that day I still hadn't received my refund or confirmation of my new order, so I phoned the store and was told Sam had gone home. I spoke to another manager about my refund, and he said it couldn't be done that day, that didn't help me at all, so I insisted it had to be done that day, so he told me to be in store within 20 minutes as customer service needed to speak to me. I immediately went to the store, and a saw the manager I had spoken to on the phone. he phoned customer service, and I waited 10 minutes for them to answer the phone. In the meantime while I was waiting, I saw the young man in store who I helped me yesterday when told him I wanted closeboard panels, I told the manager I wanted to speak to the young man, but the manager told me he had gone to lunch and he had got confused about the boards, with that I said that better training was needed. The young man appeared 10 minutes later (quick lunch, I think not) The manager finally got through to customer service about my refund and it turned out customer service didn't need to speak to me at all (waste of my time). After the manager spoke to customer service, he himself went to the till and processed my refunded, by then I was so angry I cancelled my new order of close boarding panels due to be delivered on Monday as I would never deal with that company again. Also I didn't know that if you go in store and order something and want it delivered it's classed as an online order, and you would go through the same process as I did. This could all been avoided if Manager Sam had done her job properly, by refunding my money for first wrong delivery while I was there on Saturday morning..
NIGHTMARE, I WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE 1 STAR TO THIS PLACE, BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT WOULDN'T LET ME WRITE THIS REVIEW.
