We've now had two dogs treated by the team at Willows. Both times they have been very professional and caring at the same time.

I recently attended The Willows with Arthur, my 8 yr old cocker spaniel and wanted to leave a positive review about the care and treatment we received. All of the staff were kind, caring and professional throughout our visit, which really helped put us at ease.
In particular, I would like to mention Rachel Boneham, who took the time to listen carefully to all of my concerns. She was patient, understanding and extremely reassuring. Rachel made me feel completely confident in her skills and in the care Arthur was receiving. Her compassionate approach and professionalism were very much appreciated.
Thank you again to all of the team for the excellent care shown to Arthur.

After a very emotional and worrying week with our Cocker Spaniel Cooper, we were referred to the Willows. From arrival to picking him back up after emergency surgery everyone was brilliant with our boy. Rob our vet who did the initial assessment of Cooper was amazing really gentle and caring. Daily calls with updates and a genuine care for making sure we felt at ease at one of the most stressful times ever for us. Thank you so much Williows.

Late yesterday afternoon I took my dog (grumpy French bulldog) to my local vets with an eye injury I worried was deteriorating. They agreed that a specialist was needed, and told me my only option based on the urgency and availability was ‘Willows in Birmingham’ and they made me a 9am appointment. I had no idea about these vets and Birmingham felt a long way away.

I have just returned home with an even grumpier (because of the cone) but fixed dog. The vets was extremely easy to locate, was large and clean and professional, and the service we had was exceptional from all staff. Reception was easy and fast, The nurses were knowledgeable, helpful and took complete control of the grumpy and normally resistant-to-be-held dog. The specialist we saw - Alberto - was fantastic in explaining the problem, running me through diagrams, showing real life similar before and after pictures, and walked me through the plans and options available to us. His experience and confidence backed up with real life examples made the decision to go ahead with an operation (corneal repair) easy and obvious. Costs were explained clearly, support was there with insurance claiming etc, and I left Walter in their hands. Within a few hours I had a call from Alberto with a detailed breakdown of the success of the procedure, what aftercare was required, and the time to come and collect. On collection the nurse was fantastic in running me through the medication and aftercare once again. The cost also came in significantly lower than I expected with a breakdown of costs provided. We have literally just returned home and I wouldn’t hesitate to use these vets again for any treatment beyond the scope of my (also excellent) local vets for any of my dogs.

Chester was well looked after by Holly and the team. She kept me updated during Chester’s procedure and I wasn’t kept waiting for hours worrying.

We have taken our dog here on two occasions. The staff and very friendly and caring. The treatment is very good and the doctors communicate regularly and give you updates.

All staff that I met were friendly and professional. I was given a detailed explanation of what they thought could be my dogs issue and how to resolve it. Treatment will be later as my pup isn’t big enough for the surgery yet so I can’t comment on the outcome at this time.

Brilliant specialist vets. My dog coco is a miniature chocolate dapple dachshund and had IVDD and the team were amazing with my girl and my family. From the vets to the veterinary nurses and the reception staff. Willows is a wonderful vets and they have saved my coco girl. Thank you for everything. Xx

Willows treated and cared for our Siamese boy very well. They reached a diagnosis quickly to ensure he is on the right treatment. Christina is clearly a caring vet with great empathy and explained everything clearly to us. We would not hesitate to return if necessary.

My 9 year old cairn terrier was referred from his local vet as progressive loss of use of his rear legs failed to respond to treatment for suspected arthritis. CT and MRI scans plus spinal column fluid analysis enabled a diagnosis of constrictive myelopathy. Shortly afterwards, he was operated on to stabilise his spine. After three days of in-patient surveillance, he was then discharged and the post-operative guidance I was given have put him well on the path to full recovery and a good chance of healthy enjoyment of several more years of active life. Without the diagnostic facilities available at The Willows and the expertise of their staff, it seems likely he might not have lasted till the end of this year. Cheap? No - but that’s what insurance is for (all claims handled by The Willows). Thanks to neuro vet Zoe and all colleagues for clear explanations of the options and for their excellent care for my little lad.

From the moment i walk in greeted by the welcoming reception team i always feel my daschund is in the best hands. We are currently going for hydrotherapy sessions with the excellent Emily - such good personalised care! This follows spinal surgery - see previous review re the vet, Tom. ALL 5*

What a fantastic place to take your pet, from the receptionists, through to the nursing staff and right up to the neurologists, everyone is onboard to deliver the best possible service to help your pet, as well as providing all the information you need for aftercare.
They’re honest about outcomes, and help you make the best decisions for you and your pet.
They have seen 2 of my doxies in the last 4 months, both with IVDD. 1 was not so lucky and the best thing was euthanasia, her sister has had a better result and was able to receive spinal surgery. Their input about quality of life was invaluable, and helped me make considered choices for my pets.
If there’s one downside to them, it’s that they’re not closer to where I live! But 30 minutes drive, is well worth it.

My beautiful labradoodle was diagnosed with an oral tumour and we were referred to The Willows. Our oncologist has been amazing and her treatment, although ongoing, has really helped her. The nurses are all wonderful and I can’t recommend The Willows highly enough

We were referred to The Willows for gallbladder surgery on our 10 yr old border terrier Alfie . The care he received was second to none and all of the team were amazing . Discharge was a little slow but it seemed Alfie needed extra meds at the last minute .
Everything went really well and we were charged a lot less than the original quote . I would highly recommend them to anyone especially Erica who performed keyhole surgery on our precious boy .

Excellent experience following a traumatic few days, Willows took care of our dog and diagnosed the problem quickly and calmly. Lovely staff on reception, nurses and amazing vets!

My 10-year-old Old English Mastiff Chelsea was involved in a terrible accident where both of her back legs were run over. She was initially rushed to my local vets, St George’s in Wolverhampton, who—without carrying out any X-rays—advised that euthanasia would be the best option. They believed she would have no quality of life and that surgery would be unfair given her age, weight, and existing arthritis.

We insisted on X-rays and requested that she be transferred, which led us to Willows. There, the orthopaedic specialist, Eugene, carefully reviewed her records and X-rays and told us she had a good chance of recovery, despite the challenges ahead.

The team at Willows were exceptional. After 12 days, our big girl is finally back home and recovering well. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

The operation cost over £10,000, and although we didn’t have pet insurance, it was worth every penny to have her home with us again.

Willows has always been an incredible vets with our previous frenchie and our current one. When their health is impacted it obviously makes you anxious, but the staff are wonderful. Highly skilled, knowledge and professional. You know your animal is going to be well looked after and in the right place, especially when there is uncertainty around diagnosis. From the reception staff, to nurses and consultants we can’t speak highly enough about them, their ability to be so good at what they do with such warmth I believe is quite rare. They are also so helpful when there are any last minute questions or if anything happens unexpectantly

Whilst it is costly, having insurance has been a game changer. Obv there are add ons at times but they are worth every penny
