READ THIS BEFORE YOU RENT V2.0:

This service might market itself as a cheap self-service car rental, but it's nothing but a hidden fees scam.

First of all their customer service is next to none and they do not reply to any of our queries or questions during the rental.
We accidentally drove across the border to Sweden during our rental. It was literally a bridge over a river from which we U-turned from directly. For this "breech of contract" we were charged 120EUR. About 20% of our total rental bill. I tried to clear this situation up but was unable to receive any replies to my emails to their customer support. 2 weeks later they hit me with a 650 EUR Bill (effectively doubling our bill) for spending 2 min on the wrong side of the border. I call them and this time they finally answer. I then agree to pay the 120EUR but I can assure you that I will never be using this service again. Absolute scam, you are not their customer and they do not care about you at all! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

My experience:

I rented a truck for 3 hours on 24rent.fi and pay 55€.

First surprise:
10 minutes after completing the booking, I receive an email from 24rent.fi telling me to pay an additional 150€ caution.
If I don’t pay, I loose the 55€ because the booking cannot be cancelled. So I pay, I have no choice.

Second surprise:
A few hours later I unlock the truck, go check the trunk and discover that the floor is dirty with snow mud. Not a problem, I will cover the floor with cardboards to protect my furniture. And so I did.
I use the truck for 3 hours , move my furnitures, go to the gaz station and refill the tank.
And here is the mistake I make: I fold the cardboards, and leave them in the truck thinking « it will be very useful for the next customer. »
I lock the truck and leave.

Third surprise:
A few days later, I receive an email from 24rent customer service, saying that they will keep 50€ on my 150€ caution because a few cardboards have been left in the trunk and they had to remove them.
I reply that « I left the cardboards to help, the floor was dirty so I had to protect my furniture. 50€ for removing them is a lot, don’t you think it is unfair? »
They reply that « We had to remove the cardboards so we will to charge you 50€ »

Brief Summary:
You pay the rent, you are forced into paying a 150€ caution, and now they can charge you whatever they like.
End of the story, I lost 50€, they lost a customer.

No anger, just information. Hope it helps someone.

Here was my bad experience using 24rent.fi

24rent.fi is a scamsite. Scammed 88 €. After you pay, impossible to contact and impossible to change the reservation.

24.rent on huijaussivusto. Asiakaspalveluun ei voi ottaa yhteyttä kuin mobiilisti tai verkkosivujen kautta, jotka kuitenkin on tyhjiä. Pyytävät ajokortista kopiota. Varauksen voi perua vain lähettämällä tekstiviestin samaan numeroon, joka näkyy varaustunnuksessa. Sieltä ei kuitenkaan tule mitään vastausta. Ainoa tapa olla yhteydessä on tekstiviesti! Täydellinen huijaussivusto. Rahat kuitenkin kelpasivat.
