Really poor service. Amaan Ahmed and his supervisor Aisha never answer the phone nor reply to emails. I am not sure what they actually do at work. Avoid.

Today we successfully completed our re-mortgage and the whole legal process was handled professionally by Mohammed Munshi, his replies were prompt and always provided clarity to all our questions. Highly recommended

The response times i have currently received are rapid, makes me feel like i matter to them and i feel supported whenever i need to ask a question.

The service by the Elash team is slow, deceitful and pathetic. Worst law firm ever. The constant delays, rejected calls and emails, the unprofessionalism, and the lies told about the progression, or rather non-progression, of my matter was outrageous! Asked to speak to the manager, Matthew, and no help. Constantly dodging calls and refusing to assist to get things done. If the manager is like this, what can be expected from the staff. DO NOT USE unless you have months and years to wait for your matter to even get anywhere.

Would not use or recommend. Amaan Ahmed offered appalling service from start to finish causing huge delays in my chain and on completion day delayed sending the funds so late that i was unable to access my new home until 5pm incurring over £300 in removal firm waiting time fees and distress for everyone involved. He also lied about the time of fund transfer time, witnessed by my agent. He then took until just before 5pm on the NEXT working day to transfer my settlement. He almost never returned emails or phone calls. I have raised a formal complaint. and if i do not hear a response i will refer to Legal Ombudsman.

Yaser Sekanderie was the solicitor that dealt with both of our deals .He did a great job and we were very happy with him.He was efficient,quick and available at all times .I would highly recommend him and no doubt will be passing all of my next deals to him.10/10 for him!

We were auto-signed this company by our mortgage provider when remortgaging.

Quite frustrating to work with. All files they send are .docx documents attached to an email with random file names. It all looks very spammy. They also send a lot of emails with 'approximation' figures in which caused a lot of confusion. A lot of automated responses with no real clear point of contact.

Qamar Shahrour Was outstanding when dealing with my case, would use her and ackroyd legal again and again if I needed to.

Recommended to me by underthehammer auctions as needed to source same day. Didn't do due diligence on them before (wish I'd checked trust pilot prior to taking them on!!)

Ackroyd are completely useless and must spread their staff so thin and take on far more than they can handle - and have no care that their clients are then neglected / left in the dark.

Ignore any positive reviews as I expect they are fakes - take note of the negative ones.

Didn't speak to anyone start to finish, blunt responses which you wait days for which don't offer any advice and pretty sure lack of effort led to me paying more than I should have towards seller fees.

Don't expect a call back or to ever speak to your assigned representative over the phone.

Only positive is after a lot of panic we did complete within 28 days.

Safe to say I emailed to follow up on something after completion (a month ago) and haven't been responded to - not surprised.

Hi, I am not kind of a person who leaves a bad review, but when it happens it means I have been pushed to my limits and beyond.

It has been my bad luck to have to deal with Ackroyd Legal, who deserves less than 1 star if there was any.

An incompetent solicitor was assigned to my case (Muaz Bajwa), who had the worst communication skills that I’ve seen in my whole professional life. Unable to respond to e-mails in a timely manner, needed constant reminders, unable to understand basic instructions. To that point I had to send e-mails to him, and put the other side’s solicitor in the CC just to ensure my e-mails would reach him, because I couldn’t trust the skills of this incompetent solicitor.

I sent an e-mail to the firm last November (November 2026), requesting to have him replaced, yet nobody from the firm bothered to contact me to find out what’s going on. I even went to the firm, and met him in person, and told him bluntly and to his face that I’m not happy with his communication skills, still nothing changed.

Throughout this engagement I couldn’t get a full funding for the property, because it was de-valued by the bank. I got funding but it was £30K short due to valuation.

The disaster took place when the other side’ solicitor asked me bluntly not to put him in the loop of my e-mails. I obeyed that and stopped doing so. On 8/5/2026 the other solicitor sent me a new deal for the property in question and this incompetent solicitor sent it to me. I responded the same day, and told him that I couldn’t understand the specifics of the deal and requested clarification. Then he SLEPT on that e-mail for a WHOLE MONTH.On 8the of June the other solicitor has sent an e-mail suggesting that the developer is withdrawing from the sale. That meant losing my deposit of the £26K, whixh is lost because of this incompetent solicitor. Thanks to his POOR communication skills.

The same day I sent him an email requesting a call to understand my legal position, no response. The following day I raised a complaint to this firm. Has he admitted and apologised for his failure? no, instead he became so unprofessional and demanded I withdraw my complaint. Not only that, but also the complaint manager (another incompetent solicitor) named Peter Benjamin, took a decision to side with his solicitor, and NOT to FOLLOW the Complaint Procedure, which states clearly that I should have the opportunity to present my evidence for their malpractice, and be invited to the office if needed, and that didn’t happen.

I gave them several days to handle the matter professionally, and they failed to do so.

Not only they cost me to lose my deposit of £26K, but also losing the fee that I paid them, and on top of all of that, they ended this engagement abruptly and unprofessionally.

Still, I’ll complain to the Legal Ombudsmen.

Totally not recommended and should be avoided at any coat.

We had Aisha Ahmed as our solicitor for a property purchase in 2025 .
Aisha was thorough and professional throughout.
What was very much appreciated was her willingness to help when we needed some documentation after completion as my laptop with all downloaded documents had ceased working.
She was very approachable and speedy even though we were no longer clients of hers. This was above expectations and truly appreciated- something that seems to be getting rare these days .

I called in June to explain I needed a fast sale of my half of an inherited property. I explained the difficult relationship with the purchaser, and need for speed, and was told this could be accommodated. In October the agreement pack had had only just been sent for signing, by which point my relative lost their mortgage offer. No apology, no final email to acknowledge it had fallen through. NOTHING and it's 1 year later. I am so angry and disappointed as I still do not have my inheritance. This effects people's lives, but you are just ignored and fobbed off. Don't take on work if you're too busy!

Over 7½ months to complete the sale of my shared ownership property, with delays and poor communication throughout the entire process.

Due to the excessive delays, it was agreed that exchange and completion would take place on the same day. However, despite having ample time to prepare, the solicitor failed to request the mortgage funds in time. This left both myself and my buyer stranded in our respective removal vans on completion day, causing significant stress, inconvenience, and unnecessary expense.

The handling of this transaction was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to avoid using this company.

DODGY FIRM, ALIMA KAMARA WAS TAKING AGES WITH MY SALE, REALLY DRAGGING IT ON. MYSELF AND MY BUYER WAS WOUNDING WHY SHE TAKING SO LONG AND DRAGGING THINGS OUT. AT THE END THEY DEDUCTED NEARLY 4K OF ME, FOR A LITTLE LEASE SALE. THEY TAKE LONG WITH YOUR SALE, THEN DEDUCT A LARGE AMOUNT OF YOUR MONEY AT THE END.

We used Mohammed Munshi for the purchase of our house after our mortgage broker recommended him for our sharia mortgage. We were dreading the process, as others that have applied for sharia mortgages faced lengthy delays. Mohammed provided regular updates, and helped complete the sale within 2 months. We would highly recommend using his services for islamic finance.

Happy with support received from Accroyd . The process started off slow but things moved along quickly towards the end until completion. Regular updates on the progress of the application received via email. Thank you.

Avoid this firm at all costs. The low initial quote may seem attractive, but the final charges were substantially higher once had instructed them.

The firm also appeared to have a very high turnover of staff creating uncertainty about responsibility and continuity. When problems arose, it was extremely challenging to obtain clear accountability which maybe the tactic of the firm trying to avoid indemnity insurance by blaming on those who have left the firm.

Our impression was that customer service and transparency were very poor throughout the transaction. Overall, the experience was frustrating, costly, and stressful as many other real customers were forced to complain publicly.

What is particularly concerning is the warning from with the notice: "This company's rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines." Prospective clients should consider this carefully when assessing the reliability of those "positive" reviews.

Any potential or even existing customers may think why a firm had to resort to fake reviews instead doing a good service which surely will prevent negative reviews. No customer has nothing better to do but to complain if they are happy with any service.

As an agent involved in this transaction from instruction through to completion, I unfortunately cannot recommend Ackroyd Legal based on my experience.

The matter was accepted on the basis of an expedited completion service, for which an additional fee was quoted. Despite this, the transaction was plagued by avoidable delays, repeated chasing for updates, poor communication and contradictory information from start to finish.

Documents already provided were requested again, an information pack was not forwarded to the buyer's solicitors for a considerable period, redemption information was not progressed in a timely manner, and completion statements were issued very late in the process. Internal staffing issues also appeared to impact progression of the file.

I was expressly authorised by our mutual client to be involved throughout and was named from the outset. Despite this, both the client and I were later advised to "maintain professionalism" when my involvement had consisted solely of trying to obtain updates and assist in progressing a transaction that had stalled repeatedly. Every email I sent was aimed at finding solutions and achieving completion for our client.

The most concerning aspect remains the lack of clarity surrounding the final accounting. A payment made by the client was described in several different ways throughout the transaction, yet the final completion figures still did not transparently reconcile. Both the client and our agency were been left questioning where the funds had ultimately been allocated.

The transaction did eventually complete, and for that I am grateful if only to see the back of this firm and mainly Abdullah. However, the level of stress caused to the client, the amount of unnecessary chasing required, and the lack of transparency experienced throughout fell significantly below the standard one would expect from a firm claiming to provide the highest level of service across the UK. I would add monies were held by the firm for an unusually period of time despite the sale completing and only upon chasing and chasing was this answered with an extremely odd reason that payments can take up to 3-5 workings days. This is the first time we have ever not received funds to all parties on the day of completion! As a business this was thought a questionable practice to say the least.

I sincerely hope Ackroyd Legal review their internal processes, communication standards and client care procedures to prevent others having a similar experience. Despite completing on many sales per month, we would not look to engage with this firm again going forward and needless to say our client agrees they'd not be able to recommend.
