For us to start any investigation or involve law enforcement we need to know both the number you received the call from and also your number.
We’ve been in business since 1998 and we do not condone or support (or turn a blind eye) to any misuse of our network or numbers. We work closely with Ofcom and law enforcement.
In almost all instances when there is a nuisance call on one of our numbers, it’s not aql, but overseas scammers using third party networks to spoof calls (ie to make the calls look like they’re from one of our numbers). This is beyond our control and is an industry wide problem.

Do yourself a favour and block ALL aql numbers. Aql are giving out telephone numbers to scammers and spammers (edit for trust pilot rules). I opt to block ALL your numbers as I can’t trust ANY of them. These scammers need to be STOPPED and aql has the power to do so for some of them, so DO IT. Enough excuses, stop these scammer/spammer companies, instead of flagging genuine reviews on trustpilot. (Factual as it happened to this one). I have yet to receive a legittimate call from an aql number despite the 7+ calls a day I’m getting from them. Blocklist getting pretty full tbh. Yes there not the only one - I’ll be submitting reviews to each of the relevant companies on trustpilot.
Thank you for the response. Do you seriously expect someone to post every single scam number being used with that link? I personally have been called from nearly 50 different numbers. It is not practical to post them 1 by 1. Provide a more meaningful method of posting the numbers and I’ll do it.
*EDIT* now aql are again trying to have my review removed by complaining that it might be for another domain - it is not.
Aql you are the ones hosting these numbers which makes you responsible at least in part, so my review stands. I’m annoyed at the spammers and scammers using your numbers, yes, but you are the company who can do something about this yet you choose to try and get my little review removed again?
As before I’m still waiting for the message inviting me to provide these number ranges instead of doing them one by one, so when your serious about getting rid of them message me through this.
*EDIT2* your response has been better than before however I still have to register an account to contact you or call you which I simply have no desire to use. I sincerely hope that something is done about this. I checked out most of the numbers and all but a few rated as cons were AQL. None of these were recognised numbers, nor were they expected or solicited calls. By the very fact of not answering these calls, I may miss one of vital importance to me.

Spam call from 03333440000 saying they…
Spam call from 03333440000 saying they had a message and to press 1 to receive it. We are registered with TPS. We have a TrueCall device and it managed to get through the filtering system, presumably by pressing a key and them saying their name. Received a second one an hour later, however, the message was totally garbled. I have now blocked the caller.

5X price hike, no calling credit refunds
Have used this company for 10 years for SIP calls and it's been fine. Last year they raised the cost of renting a number from £2 to £10 per month, so moved on to another company. Their parting insult was to refuse to refund my remaining SIP credit. Apparently it's in the T&C, but after a 5X price increase in line rental you would expect some flexibility on such things.
Now using Andrews and Arnold instead. £1.44 per number per month and good service so far.

I'm sorry you've had a negative experience with aql. As I'm sure you're aware, costs across not just telecoms but all sectors have risen in the past few years and our prices have had to increase as a reflection of this.
I can understand how frustrating losing your credit may be, but unfortunately these terms are outlined in our T&C and credit being non-refundable is a standard practice.
We are sad to be losing a long term customer, but these changes were made to ensure that our services remain sustainable and viable for us as a company.

Literally the worst 'customer service'…
Literally the worst 'customer service' I've ever experienced. I have been owed a refund from the twice now. Once for being charged for someone else's invoices and another for an overpayment on account for a product that should have been ceased 2 months prior. I've been on hold for over 25 minutes listening over and over to Passenger 'Month of Sunday'. Just FYI - If you're not bothered about taking calls from clients to try to make amends, at least give them 25 minutes of different music to listen too before finally just cutting me off. Funnily enough though, when I called back pretending I was a new customer, the call was answered in a matter of seconds. Oh and to top it off, the reason we're fighting this with AQL in the first place is that they increased our prices from £0.40p per item to £8! No one in management wants to talk to you, no one emails you back. Save yourself a lot of time and effort and don't bother!

This allows non-SMS capable numbers ie landline numbers, to receive SMS. In some cases, this may be a prescription, delivery update or alternative alert from a company or organisation you are familiar with. If you would like to opt-out of this service and no longer receive text-to-speech SMS, please could you provide the number that was contacted and email support@uk.aql.com and this will be completed within 48 hours. Not for the small fish anymore
I've been using AQL for 13 years for my NPO's incoming landline calls. Never had any complaints against them but their price hike in June has basically priced us out as a customer, i.e. suddenly a £16+VAT bill per month went up to £80+VAT per month. If we were a big operator, i.e. we had more than 100 lines, we'd be fine. Whether this is their attempt to reduce rogue operators using their numbers or this is just a strategic measure to focus more of enterprise ventures, I cannot not say but it is such a shame to be leaving AQL with a bitter taste after 13 years.

Unfortunately, due to the increasing costs of energy, materials, labour and everything else that we've seen in the last couple of years, we've had no choice but to increase prices. We kept them as low as we could for as long as we could, and increased them only to ensure we were not making a loss. I wish you the best, and hope that we can work together again in the future.
Happened to me too
Happened to me too. I put the phone down as I never use my landline for deliveries. I checked the call log and found the number - 03333 440000 - no-one gets numbers like that, then rang it to find the company is called AQL.COM obviously trying to sound like AOL.COM
All the other reviewers are saying the same thing, shut them down they are just helping scammers by selling UK telephone numbers. I will call the BBC and tell them to investigate.
