Lacklustre, frustrating and disappointing quality of service and teaching
Astranti Connect really need to look again at the way they treat their students, their admin, communication and teaching. Unfortunately my experience of them has been one of frustration and disappointment - from lacklustre teaching to admin errors and now I am still waiting for my certificate to arrive two whole months since CPCAB sent it to Astranti - despite repeated assurances from Astranti. They promised so much and the other students were wonderful, but the overall teaching and course management experience has been challenging to say the least.

We reflect on each individual course and carefully review the feedback that we receive in the end of course feedback survey. These form an important part of our course development and are vital in helping us understand both areas of strength and ways in which we can improve for the future.
However, student feedback is greatly appreciated at any time and we’ll always do our best to support.
I’m pleased to say we’ve already made several changes based on the feedback we received and have since had positive initial comments and feedback based on these specific modifications.
In relation to your certificate - in general it takes around 3 months for us to receive it from CPCAB and we then aim to send these within four weeks in a monthly batch.
According to our tracking data, it appears that you should have now received your certificate and we have been in touch with you directly about the specific causes of this delay - however please do accept my apologies once again for this wait as I can understand how this would be frustrating.
We’ve also updated how we process certificates in future to make sure that this doesn’t happen again.
I am, however, happy to hear that you had such a nice group of students on your course - this can really make an experience and I'm glad this was a real positive for you.

Worthwhile experience
I completed the Level 2 Counselling Skills course and found it to be a very rewarding and engaging experience. The course also challenged me to develop my reflective skills with the various homework tasks and assignments, which was repetitive at times but not without reason as, again, it challenged us to be more reflective. I also enjoyed the tutor's conversational teaching style in the main, and many different topics and techniques relevant to Counselling were covered throughout the course. However, I did feel at times that some role-playing/demonstration involving the tutor might have helped provide a base for our learning as students as well, in my opinion. Overall, a very positive experience.

Don't use this company
Don't use this company! I made the mistake of signing up for a level 2 face to face course but am.now unable to attend due to ill health.
They informed me that they would be taking the rest of the payments even though I am not taking the course. I have now blocked them from stealing my money even though I am unemployed.

I’m really sorry to hear that you decided not to attend your course. All of our courses are dependent on minimum and maximum student numbers permitted by CPCAB as well as our own limits that allow us to offer the course.
From our records, you got in touch with us to let us know that you’d like to withdraw 11 days prior to your course starting - unfortunately, this is significantly less notice than the 28 days that we require for changes or withdrawals from the course.
It’s important that we’re able to run our scheduled courses so that we don’t let down students who are already on the course. Having these policies is vital for preventing significant numbers of last-minute drop-outs, which may cause us to have to postpone the course for everyone.
All of our policies are written in a clear, simple and easy-to-understand way, and it’s important that all students read and agree to them before joining the course. It’s also worth saying that very similar policies exist with many other courses as well as businesses in other areas, including airline tickets, hotel bookings, or bookings for sporting events.
Our terms and conditions are available on our website, throughout the application process and in the enrolment form/contract that you signed when you joined the course. As an extra reminder, we also included these withdrawal terms in the email we sent to confirm we had received your deposit and enrolment form.
We got in touch with you to offer to meet to discuss your withdrawal in more detail but didn’t hear back from you in relation to this.

Their course was well structured
Their course was well structured. This was with a workbook that you could read and update at your own pace. This was structured with the lessons for the week, so there was plenty of time to absorb the information and be prepared for the upcoming sessions.
The tutor, in addition to being professional and kind, was a pillar of support throughout the course. Their constant availability via email provided a safety net, ensuring that no question or concern was left unaddressed. This support was a constant source of reassurance, boosting my confidence in the learning process.
Assignments were not just given, but given with ample time for preparation. This allowed for a relaxed and controlled approach to the tasks, ensuring that you could give your best without feeling rushed.
The short, condensed course structure led to a lot of assignments coming together at the end, which could feel pressured. However, with good preparation and time management, this should not be a problem. It's important to note that this structure also encourages a focused and intensive learning experience.
Astranti provides a website with lots of structured information to access, and there are also free seminars on different topics. I would say getting involved. It enhances your learning and getting to meet new like-minded people.

SO excellent!
There was so much communication, and the systems worked well. Overall a very smooth and easy course to take part in, with excellent teaching, support, qualifications and framework. Being able to do a fast track course also meant I did a course I likely wouldn't have done in it's usual format, which has boosted and fast tracked my career.

I studied level 2 and 3 counselling with Astranti and I’m staying with them for level 4. It has been a great experience and Astranti have been really supportive throughout. It was important to me that their courses are recognised and accredited with the British Association of Counsellor’s and Psychotherapists. The course content is of a high standard.

I have been with astranti for 2 years…
I have been with astranti for 2 years completing my level 2&3. I have had amazing support from a wonderful tutor. I'm moving towards level 4 in Sept with them and definitely wouldn't be doing this if i felt that it was lacking in anyway. I was initially really worried about studying on-line after a terrible Open University experience, but it has been great
I cannot fault them, a few niggles when they expanded and the admin support could be better organised. On
the whole the course was fantastic,

Worst training experience
I did a level 2 counseling course in March 2024. The course is very commercialized. It is created by people who are not passionate about what they are doing: tedious old-times storytelling, and no use of modern technology. I am a visual learner. The way the course is built does not at all consider that. No slides, no summaries of what has been learned. Even such a tool as PowerPoint is unknown to them. Documentaries from the late 60s show how far they have come. No refund is possible.
Waste of time and money.

Our course is designed to be practical in nature - not only because this is an important part of the CPCAB qualification, but also because this closely replicates what you can expect from a counselling career.
We consciously avoid the overuse of slides or presentations where we can avoid it in favour of whole-group discussion, personal development and small group practice sessions to allow you to practise and implement all of the skills and techniques you’ll learn on the course as well as keep the live classes as interesting and realistic to the career as possible.
Our team have developed a full stand-alone online course library which is available for free for all our L2 students while on the course. This contains many hours of videos and resources which are in an interactive presentation format - although not essential to pass the course, many find that it is a useful resource. As it is structured by session, this is particularly useful if you ever miss a session or would like to follow up on the content learnt in class.
We want all of our students to have the best experience and if there is an element of the course that you’re finding isn’t working for you, we always really encourage students to discuss with their tutor about how they can best support them with their studies. They are normally best placed to be able to do this. I believe that in your situation, we also offered you the chance to discuss with the lead tutor to enable us to support you, but you declined this offer.
Although we’ll always do our best to support you, if you do decide to withdraw from the course, as per the terms of the course that you agreed to, we’re not able to offer a refund.

I'd definitely recommend Astranti
I'm currently doing my second course with Astranti Connect and I've been impressed with both of them. The Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills online was a great introduction to the profession, well taught by an experienced tutor. I'm now studying Level 3 online and enjoying it immensely. The course material is comprehensive and well-written, and the course tutor is friendly and engaging. She provides us with a wealth of insights and encourages us to become the best counsellors we can be. I'd strongly recommend Astranti to anyone interested in becoming a counsellor.

Can't say highly enough of this company.
I have been in a position of taking counselling training with colleges, and yes the cost is cheaper, however, I found the tutoring was of a poor standard. I recently tried to speak to a college about my future as the face-to-face course would have been 10 mins from my front door, but then the counsellor/tutor "of more than 20 years experience" kept interrupting me it didn't look good.
I now have a plan to move forward, a chance to train as a tutor long-term, and a support structure I have not found with any other counselling training company. Yes, there is a cost to this, let's not kid ourselves, but I can see this is a private company and does not have the government grant handouts that colleges have. I see this as an investment in my own progression.
The CPCAB L2 course I am completing online is by far the best group I have ever worked with. The tutor is supportive, clear, precise, and empathic. I can't wait to progress with the support of this company.
Thank you Astranti, for supplying exactly what I needed to become the counsellor I want to be and the opportunity to give back to the community at the same time.

Worst training provider in the SW
Astranti took over Devon and cornwall counselling hub mid way through my training and it was hostile to say the least!!
They have taken an amazing business model with indepth and robust learning and completely obliterated it in favour of the mighty ££££
Customer service is non existent , we were left hanging , not knowing what was happening at the end of our level 4 training as the company decided to ostracise the man responsible for building the hub from the ground up, which for me says so much about the company and its ethos!!
They are a business who have taken over a counselling model and NOT counsellors with a vested interest in producing the very best next generation of counsellors and it shows.
Our CoP exam was a utter disaster and had to be sat in a place non of us had been to before instead of our usual venue for no other reason than cost cutting and once there we discovered there with no access to the Internet, even though the exam is only available online!! There was no apologies or effort made to help those sitting the exam either, which mirrors the support Astranti have offered thus far, which is nothing!
If you want to be a counsellor look elsewhere for training providers, this company is a sham!

At no point did Astranti even offer a hello when they took over , you have not been forthcoming with contact info and don't reply to emails!! ( funny how you can't find the emails I sent)
You failed to support the students in any way , shape or form, infact you have contributed to stress and anxiety by witholding diplomas and certificates until threatened with action.
You have been silent since taking over , apart from sending me generic junk mail trying to get me to spend further money!!!
As for the way you handled to takeover - that is not my experience of the situation and to try cover how you have behaved towards staff and students alike is cowardly but sadly expected from a company that accepts zero responsibility for its poor behaviour, non existent communication and inability to offer support to the people who you depend on to keep your business model afloat!! Oh the irony of a counselling training provider lacking the vital elements needed to create a successful therapeutic alliance!!

Quality is at the forefront of our priorities, with our main objective being to provide an exceptional learning journey and foster the growth of outstanding counsellors. We consistently seek feedback across all courses, striving for continuous improvement and innovation.
Some of the recent innovations that we've made include:
1. Implementing new course designs to ensure high-quality and consistent teaching as well as to allow a broader knowledge on a range of different counselling approaches.
2. Introducing a comprehensive online Level 2 and 3 course which includes videos and textbooks to sit alongside the live teaching.
3. Offering free seminars for additional learning and cross-collaboration between students on all of our courses.
4. Establishing a tutor training program with ongoing supervision.
5. Offering personal 1-2-1 appointments for students who have questions about a career in counselling.
6. Releasing detailed guides on our website, addressing common queries about training to become a counsellor.
The previous owner chose to leave, even though we explored a number of alternative roles with him. In terms of customer service, we've strengthened our team with two full-time representatives and additional support staff.
Student support is available between 08:30 - 17:00, Monday - Friday, through phone, live chat, or email. I have double-checked our emails, but I'm afraid I can't find a record of you getting in touch about your concerns while on the course.

Admin side of course requires improvement
I went with astranti following lots of research, good reviews and being really keen to find a fast track course at L2 that allowed me to work remotely. I had a lovely class of peers and despite my concerns around working remotely made genuine connections with people. My tutor was very warm, engaging and helped as much as she could.
What let the course down for me was the lack of support and feedback. About 2/3 way through the course important parts of the portfolio of work were introduced with mixed messaging as to how these should be completed. Advice on what needed submitted and in what way varied causing me much confusion, questions took a long time to answer. Although work was submitted weekly via Google classroom there was limited feedback, even when the work was being done incorrectly which led to a lot of duplication. Sometimes work was submitted but not received by the tutor for unknown reasons.
Overall I felt that my tutor was not supported by astranti to do the job to the best of her ability, I hope that is remedied on future courses because she is an asset to the team.
I will not be pursuing any further counselling training courses with this company, for me the lack of clarity and support impacted my enjoyment which is so unfortunate because I met a really lovely bunch of classmates and my tutor had a lot of experience and knowledge to offer which I am sure would have helped on L3.

I’m sorry to hear that there were some challenges in relation to the messaging surrounding the internal assessment process, as well as some technical issues when submitting through Google Classroom. I can understand that this would lead to confusion and would have an impact on your overall experience.
Following on from feedback from tutors and students on the existing system, our team have completely redesigned this process and we’re delighted to have just launched this with our November 2023 courses.
Some of the changes to this new system include that it offers much greater guidance on how you can meet CPCAB criteria, reduces the number of worksheets down to a single document (rather than on separate ones each week) and you will no longer need to upload your work separately each week (instead this will be just completed in a single workbook that you won’t need to upload). We’ve also developed additional support documents and videos to explain the system. Whilst we supported Jennifer throughout the process, we realised that there were some improvements to be made so we have also overhauled our induction programme for new tutors.
It is always our goal to offer an excellent experience for all of our students and ultimately to make the world of counselling as clear and simple as possible. Therefore, it’s really great to hear that studying remotely, through our live-online class worked well for you! Forming connections with peers is an important part of the course and we’re pleased that you were able to do this.

I highly recommend Astranti Connect and so far, I am finding the course highly rewarding and beneficial. Our teacher is amazing even within the virtual classroom, Jennifer creates a safe space in order for us all to fulfil our full potential. There is a gentle step by step approach in which we are all making giant strides forward, but without it being overwhelming. The technique of using positive reinforcement and reflection throughout all our exercises, really helps teach us as well as laying strong foundations in order for us all to progress. I’m truly enjoying every moment of learning more and exploring my personal growth and self-reflection and getting to know myself better in the process. The staff behind the scenes are also approachable and efficient and are always happy to help and do a great job. Astranti Connect gets a 5 star review from me.

Online Level 2
I chose to do Level 2 online as I travel around a lot. I was a little concerned that it might be too much spending all day online but the day is structured really well with plenty of breaks and different learning activities. The Astranti team are great - there were some teething problems with the online platform but the admin team have been super helpful and our tutor was excellent. I've really enjoyed my experience and have already booked my level 3 online course.

I have just completed Level 2 and have…
I have just completed Level 2 and have loved every second. My initial disappointment regarding it being on line soon disappeared and it in no way deterred from building relationships with the other students. Our tutor was incredibly supportive and approachable, her kindness and encouragement was so motivating. I am already excited for level 3.
