My sister and I were visiting family in Sweden when we found out that they had another away activity that they had to attend. On very short notice (3 days) we contacted Authentic Scandinavia and asked if they could plan a trip for us to the fiords in Norway. There was a six day trip that we wanted…Discover Fiord Norway, and they came through! We were able to book our train to Oslo to begin their scheduled trip. All the hotels, buses, trains, and a ship (to view the fiord) were all included…we just followed the plan. We had a great time and were able to see what we wanted on those open days on our tour. I would highly recommend Authentic Scandinavia to anyone who wants a great planned trip.

Authentic Scandinavia were very efficient and helpful in creating a custom 5 -week itinerary with a Hurtigruten cruise, Lapland in Winter and Scandinavian and Baltic capitals. This included adjusting bookings to allow for our late arrival as a result of the Iran War. All elements of our tour (transport, accommodation, transfers and guided tours) worked like clockwork. The general information, detailed instructions and suggested options were very useful.
We have used Authentic Scandinavia previously and would highly recommend them.

I had a wonderful experience with Authentic Scandinavia on my trip through Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm in May. Everything was very well organized, and I especially appreciated the way the itinerary combined different ways of travelling between the three capitals.

The overnight ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo was one of the highlights of my entire trip. It was my first experience travelling on such a large passenger ferry, and watching the sunset in the evening and sunrise the next morning made the journey itself part of the holiday. The train from Oslo to Stockholm was another great choice, with beautiful views of forests, lakes and Scandinavian landscapes along the way.

Hotels were conveniently located, all arrangements worked smoothly, and at the same time I had enough flexibility to explore each city at my own pace.

I would definitely recommend Authentic Scandinavia to anyone looking for a well-organized independent trip with a thoughtfully designed itinerary and some memorable experiences along the way.

Authentic Scandinavia did a fantastic job arranging my one-week trip from Stockholm to Tallin to Helsinki, booking great hotels and ferry trips between the cities. Everything was seamless, from my original enquiry to booking to the trip itself. The information provided pre-trip was more comprehensive than I expected including full details for each step of the way plus restaurant recommendations and lists of the best things to do in each city. As a solo traveler in my 60's I was completely comfortable and would recommend Authentic Scandinavia to any traveler. A really great travel experience.

Authentic Scandinavia booked our 10 day trip with another couple for latter part of June 2026. We started in Stockholm, took the train to Copenhagen and then the overnight cruise to Oslo. Then we did Norway in a Nutshell, and then took the Hurtigruten cruise from Bergen to Trondheim. The hotels Authentic Scandinavia booked for us were all excellent, and all within easy walking distance of trains or subway stops. All of our transfers were seamless. We are Canadians so had a time difference to connect by phone but they made it happen when needed. Most communication is by email. We booked our own day tours but they are also available to help do that if desired. We were very happy with our experience! I would definitely recommend them to our friends, for those that don’t need or want a group tour but like to do things on their own schedule.

ALL THREE MEALS each day were gourmet! Not another river cruise or large cruise ship ever delivered to my wife and our partners in travel such Michelin Star meals! Our chef really delivered and the tables daily each with napkins folded differently was a surprise!
Anyone taking this “old” canal boat Juno will never forget such friendly staff and truly amazing small beautiful little villages anxious to greet our passing through.
In closing, spending several days in Gothenburg and Stockholm well organized in 5 Star hotels helped our adjustment after flying from the United States and departure . Sweden is a wonderful friendly and beautiful country.

When booking Oslo/Flam/Bergen, very responsive to my needs & times. Amazingly accuate directions which was important as a solo. Excellent communication when things changed. Great hotel locations. A wonderful experience in a gorgeous part of the world & I can't wait to use them again.

Using Authentic Scandinavia was the best choice I made when planning our trip to several Nordic countries. There were many itineraries to choose from. We did the Nordic Capitals & Fjords tour which was an amazing experience. We easily added days in Helsinki and made other upgrades. Communication was always excellent and when we received our detailed itinerary, we were confident our trip would go off without any issues. But, if we had had any problems while traveling, I'm sure Authentic Scandinavia would have been there for us. We plan to use their sister company Authentic Europe to plan a trip to Switzerland and Italy next year.

It is a wonderful company to book your tour with. All my questions and concerns were answered in a timely manner. Patrick was an excellent agent! Our hotels were in very good locations. Directions to hotels and train stations were extremely helpful. Everything with our tour went very smoothly. We are from the USA and we’re happy to find a company to book the trip we wanted only 2 months before our departure.

We have had two wonderful holidays with Authentic Scandinavia: in 2018 we dd the InlandsBanan railway with them - ending with experiencing the Midnight Sun on a mountain top - just superb. And then this year we did their tour to Stockholm, Tallinn and Finland. This was really good - the hotels were all excellent, and everything worked out just as it should.

They had the MOST extensive instructions and directions you could imagine so that you never were wondering where you were supposed to go or how to get there. They were amazing.

I have had two trips with Authentic Scandinavia now and both experiences have been excellent. Very clear itineraries with great suggestions for what to do and where to eat in each place. The accommodation is always well situated, clean and quiet. I don’t normally book with tour companies but value the local expertise and would highly recommend them.

Our holiday was great! Everything was perfectly planned and organized, and all the details were clearly explained in the guide document shared with us before the trip. Everything went smoothly, which allowed us to simply relax and enjoy the experience.

We booked a ten day self-guided excursion and had a wonderful time. I'm a highly experienced traveller and found the quality of bookings were perfect. Out of necessity there is a bit of a delay between payment and receiving the complete itinerary. This was our expectation and and this delay was made clear at time of payment, but we were still happy to finally receive the details on the promised delivery date.
