Absolutely incredible experience
Absolutely incredible experience with Big Bear Cool Cabins! From the moment we arrived, the customer service was next level. They were kind enough to accommodate an early check-in, which made our whole weekend start off stress-free and perfect.
When we noticed the BBQ at the cabin wasn’t working, they didn’t just “look into it” — they went above and beyond and brought out a brand new BBQ almost immediately. That level of care and responsiveness is honestly rare these days.
The cabin itself was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect, and the entire weekend turned into one of the best family getaways we’ve had in a long time. And for a last-minute booking, you honestly could not beat the price either. The value we got for the experience was unbelievable.
You can truly tell they care about their guests and want people to have a great experience from start to finish. Highly recommend Big Bear Cool Cabins to anyone looking for an easy, relaxing, and well-managed mountain getaway. We’ll absolutely be booking with them again!

Place was ok . Back yard wasn’t fully gated , stains on bottom mattress , front windows are locked (can’t open ) fire hazard . Last - screen for the front door wasn’t working properly.

Cute and cozy cabin!
Cute and cozy cabin!! Kitchen has all the dishes and tools you could need including spices and coffee. The room upstairs has extra blankets, there were plenty of board games including puzzles, cricket and corn hole. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay here, wish we stayed longer! Everything went very smoothly with communication and getting the keys to let ourselves in.

Mediocre, but manageable
While we appreciate the variety BBCC has to offer and the customer service they provide, the quality of the cabins for the prices we’ve paid have been subpar. We booked our most recent stay at a place with a fenced yard for our pup that was walkable to The Village. The yard was severely overgrown and unusable, and we were in no way a “close walk” to The Village (unless 30+ minutes uphill is close to you). We made it work, but it’s super disappointing to drive all that way to be underwhelmed and disappointed. You don’t get the address of the property until after you book and your reservation is getting closer, so I couldn’t have known the listing was incorrect until later on. Everything was manageable, but very disappointing considering I spent days trying to find the best spot for us. Also, the beds were ROCK HARD.

We understand your disappointment regarding the yard and appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We will be notifying the homeowner about the landscaping concerns, as we agree the outdoor space should better reflect the experience shown in the listing.
Regarding the location, we do list the Village as being within walking distance for guests who don’t mind approximately a 15-minute walk, though we understand walking times and terrain can feel very different depending on personal preference and route. We also want to clarify that property addresses are provided 3 days prior to arrival for advance bookings, while reservations made within that timeframe receive the address the same day of booking.
We’re sorry to hear the beds were not comfortable for your preference, as mattress comfort can vary from guest to guest. We truly appreciate your feedback and will use it to continue improving the guest experience.

forty Eight hours in big bear
Easy organized check in and out process. Unit 209 was extremely well equipped...bring a few k cups or grinds, they have both available. They did provide one day's worth of grounds in a little sealed bag.

The cabin was amazing, papa bear's hideout was clean, neat, and spacious , love the support that I got from staff at cool cabins at the moment of check out. Great Stay & Excellent Communication with a Few Hiccups
We recently stayed at this rental in Big Bear Lake and had a very positive experience overall, despite a few minor issues.
The Management & Communication
The communication from the rental team was truly excellent. A few hours before our scheduled check-in, we were notified that our original cabin was undergoing emergency maintenance. While this made us nervous given the timing, the representative handled it perfectly. They immediately sent over three alternative options with photos and descriptions. To compensate for the inconvenience, they also returned our security deposit, which we greatly appreciated.
The Property & Amenities
The location of the house was fantastic. If you are traveling with pets, you couldn't ask for a better fenced property—it was large, secure, and perfect for our two small dogs.
Inside, the home was cozy and well-equipped for the weather:
Heating: The bedroom heaters were amazing. They worked quickly and efficiently, which was much needed during the chilly nights.
Bedding: The beds were very comfortable, and the host provided plenty of extra pillows and blankets.
Areas for Improvement
There were a few cleanliness and prep issues that kept this from being a five-star stay:
Kitchen Cleanliness: Several dishes, cups, and glasses were put away dirty. We ended up washing all the silverware, plates, and glassware ourselves before we felt comfortable using them.
The Couch: While the couch featured a recliner, it was full of crumbs and hair when opened, so we avoided using it for the rest of the trip.
Supplies: The listing stated that soap, shampoo, and conditioner were provided. However, there was only one hotel-sized sample of each. We had to make a run to Vons to buy basic soap for the bathroom and shower.
Final Verdict: Despite the initial stress of the cabin switch and the need for a deeper clean in the kitchen and living area, it was a nice rental for the price. The stellar communication and the great yard for our dogs made it a worthwhile stay. We would consider booking with this team again!

Disappointing cabin
Going through cool cabins was easy to use. My rating was based on the cabin we rented. The picture looked like abt a dozen stairs to go down to get to house, in reality there were 42!!! The house is older, which was fine, but the flooring needed much work. The hot water ran out after one short shower. Must have a very small water heater or the temp set very low.

This place is exceptional
The cabin was very comfortable and well stocked with all the necessary utensils. The area was quiet and peaceful, close to the Village, hiking and biking. The only suggestion we have is that some sort of venting (Whole house fan) should be added to allow the warm air to escape from the raised area of the home. It was very warm so we had to use the air conditioning in May. This would result in energy cost savings. Also, all the signs on the wall next to the front door need to be fastened to the wall at the bottom. When you run the heater, they flap up and down. The booking process was very easy and Cool Cabins kept us well informed.

Last minute getaway
I’ve been to big bear several times in the pass but this experience was different. Beautiful cabin in a quiet street. Cabin was extremely clean and we loved the comfortable feeling. My family and I just had a wonderful time. Cool cabins was a simple and reasonable price. The only thing was the cabins upstairs bathroom door needs replacing and the shower head. Besides that it was a perfect cabin.
