At first it seemed like a great community and still is, but more and more it feels like they are constantly selling you things and producing low-quality content videos. I'm hoping there will be an alternative competitor but until then their forums seems to be helpful.
The humble brag from Brandon gets quickly annoying in his videos to the point where I skip when he talks. Also his highly marketed conferences/vods etc are filled with fluff information and mostly just a motivational speech about real estate as opposed to any real content. He seems to use this outlet as a self-journaling therapy to just talk about himself.
Still searching for real content, One I found so far is MultiuniverseU. Still searching for others..

The concept is there, but really makes it difficult for the small investors. Website has glitches, and you aren't allowed to ask for emails to those you want to connect to outside of the website.

Take poor photos, write poor descriptions." It's such a broad generalization. And don't they realize many listeners are small time investors? In a recent episode they referred to contractors as dogs, and when they corrected themselves they used the term "kids" instead. Give me a break. Brandon and David need to get off their high horse.

Worst company ever. Period. They index all their forum comments on Google. A client made a post that was false about our company. The client then wanted to take it down but Bigger Pockets doesn't allow the option! And this false information is INDEXED on Google. We have only but one option: to file a lawsuit to try to get it removed.

Don't expect your 90 day journal to come anytime soon. I joined 2 1/2 months ago and still have not received it. Customer service is terrible and no one seems to really care. Is this how you do business? It is ironic since they preach getting things done. it is extremely unprofessional. Congrats Brandon on your book. Will anyone ever receive it?

Warning! Cost Calculators are bait & Switch
Don't fill out the cost calculators; it'll take you 20-30 minutes, and it's nothing more than a bait&switch ploy meant to coerce you into paying for a membership.
Even if you register, you'll never see that work again. It's unclear, even if you do pay for a membership, if you'll ever recover that initial submission.
Their customer support was dismissive and unwilling to rectify the problem - terrible outfit - scammy.

I was a huge fan of the Bigger Pockets podcasts for years.
Then I joined the forums.
I was very optimistic at first.
Don't post in the wrong place or ask the wrong questions. And you better have done a lot of investment deals, have a huge amount of money and hundreds of posts or you might get scolded like a bad child.
The site is also a bit glitchy and cumbersome to navagate.
They try to plug pro membership a lot which I almost purchased.
Now I feel it's not worth going on the forum.
It literally completly changed how I feel about Bigger Pockets. I don't even want to listen to the podcasts anymore.
I'm still in shock.
I've never had a bad experience on a forum before Bigger Pockets.

I love biggerpockets so much! This podcast has changed my life in how I perceive money and real estate! Thank you guys so much, I bought my first home when I was 21 and house hacked the heck out of it, there’s no way I could’ve done it with out you guys so thank you:)
I was an active member on the forums, with over 100 posts and growing. Suddenly, I can't log in anymore, they decided to close my account, citing that I was attempting to sell something, and had been repeatedly warned not to. I had received no warnings! This was unfair and petty of them, and support requests to their service received no answer.
I'd have no problem paying $5-$10/month depending on how involved I am, but this is too much for not enough services.
The worse of marketing techniques. He blatantly lies to you and guaranteed a FREE book if you sigh up on mailing list. Guess what? No book, three of us have tried getting book. However there is a link to buy book! lol..but you've signed up right?! Trashy tactics and the reviews of those that actually paid are AWEFUL of how he treats and blocks you from site you paid for if he doesn't like something you posted or didn't agree with something he does, some even mention per mere questioning.
Do your homework before giving this scumbag money. Didn't all the florida timeshare salesmen retire after the 80's!?
Your podcasts make me nauseous. Both Josh Dorkin and Brandon Turner sound like 2 spoiled brat hipsters with way to much privilege. Your simple, dumb humor gets old fast! Be more professional. Your guests seem to be all hype and extremely narcissistic when compared to other podcasts. You both are all over the page with your interviews as well. Stay on track. Your guests also seem to highly exaggerate their claims and stories as well. Can anyone say FAKE??? Time to grow up boys and get a little more serious with your podcasts. Just saying.
One of the best website about real estate investing. It's like a wikipedia of real estate investing. Also you can learn anything in the forum from seasoned investors.

Very large Real Estate investment site - - Hi participation, low quality and little authoritative information.
I bought and managed a multi-family rental for 19yrs. I went to RE seminars(before buying or joining BP), bought lots of informational products only to learn from hard-knocks that I was buying half-truths. Several products were aimed at the investor's FUD: Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. Heavy emphasis was placed on Asset Protection via a legal entity owning the investment and isolating the investor's personal assets from litigation. Also learned that Federal and State Fair Housing Regulations are the cornerstone of rental management and few investors were even aware of such. Then I participated for about 18 months as a Buy & Hold investor - -
Summary: "The inmates are running the asylum". The naive, uninformed and wishful thinkers post and comment to one another as "peer experts". Few rational and experienced let alone professionals contribute to the chaos of the Bazaar. Unstructured forums allow the same question to be posted and ruminated creating a large set of duplicate or conflicting answers - - and the biggerpockets.com(BP) staff and management just don't care.
My gripe is several "sophisticated techniques" of investing are heavily promoted and not Censured by BP include some techniques which are nefarious at best and frequently blatantly illegal in several states; eg: Wholesaling. Just like any broker, a wholesaler gets two parties together - - for a price. Brokering without a license is a violation of most State Real Estate laws. BP staff and management allow such babble as if it were 'just another choice'.
Another example is transferring a property title from personal to a legal entity. Numerous comments exist where these inmates of the Bazaar suggest "the due on sale clause is seldom/never invoked". WOW! Talk is cheap, especially when the consequences land upon someone else. Additionally, using a legal entity is couched as "asset protection" but the negative consequences are never disclosed, such as Difficulty in obtaining credit under the entity name.
Deriving revenue is typically a problem for most websites. BP creates a primary stream from a layered membership structure. The bottom level is free, the intermediate level is one price and the elite level "Pro" is a few hundred bucks with some additional benefits attached. Problem; What is a "Pro"; someone with credentials in the field of Real Estate? Nope! Anyone willing to fork over the few hundred buck to get this label attached to their login - - IMO, intentionally misleading!
After attempting to keep the uninformed out of trouble for many months, I finally threw in the towel when someone asked about placing a Lease Option(LO) on MLS listings. When told 'you need to own or be the sales agent for said property', the response received back was "it's part of the own nothing and control everything" (aka John D Rockefeller). I guess anyone can create an LO on anything??? NOT!
There are other nauseating subjects as well, but I've had my fill. If you're reading content from BiggerPockets.com, be sure to validate any ideas you glean using secondary sources and validating against YOUR State Regulations.
