Over Big House Experience
Geschreven door het bedrijf
Our aim is simple: to offer truly wonderful experiences in truly exceptional houses, for groups of friends and families. We have curated our fabulous collection of large houses to rent with great care. Each and every house has been hand-picked with those truly wonderful experiences in mind. All have oodles of space, luxury as standard, and unique features that add the ‘wow’ factor.
We’re a family business. It started with just the two of us; husband and wife duo, Gareth and Claire Allen. We’re developing a team of lovely like-minded people around us as we grow, who will make sure we never lose that family business feel. And that means we’ll never lose that level of personal service that our wonderful guests have come to love.
We are selective. And unapologetically so. We feature only houses we’d be genuinely excited about staying in ourselves. It’s not about numbers for us – we’re happy to keep our collection of properties small and beautiful if that means we can recommend each property with confidence and pride.

Rippon Hall
It was our second year staying at Rippon Hall. A fantastic house, very well appointed with everything you could think of needing for a weeks stay with a large crowd. We are a multi generational group ranging from 20-84 in age and everyone was happy. The parents were particularly grateful for the 'Party Barn' set away from the house! Even Henry the Labrador would recommend! Thank you to Clarke for being on hand in case we needed any help.

Hi Sara,
Thank you so much for your lovely review and for choosing to return to Rippon Hall for a second year. It’s wonderful to hear that the house worked so well once again for such a brilliantly varied group of ages.
We did smile at the parents’ appreciation of the Party Barn – having a little distance between generations can occasionally be a very useful feature! It’s also great to hear that Clarke was on hand when needed.
And, of course, we’re particularly pleased to have Henry the Labrador’s seal of approval! We’d be delighted to welcome you all back for year three.
Best wishes,
Gareth and the team at Big House Experience.

Absolutely brilliant!
Booking with the Big House Experience team was fantastic! They made our booking seamless and so easy. Communication was excellent throughout the process.
We booked the Swaffham House for a group of 15 to jointly celebrate 7 of the group turning 40 and it was absolutely amazing.
The house can easily accommodate everyone and you don't feel like you're on top of each other as there are multiple reception rooms and this also goes for the garden which has so many different locations where seating is provided! The garden is also plenty big enough for activities - we played rounders and cornhole in the rain (we took our own equipment) and sat around the fire pit in the evening.
The kitchen facilities, crockery and utensil were brilliant and enabled us to cook a lovely 3 course meal and breakfast for the group.
The host was on hand if needed and very helpful with any questions we had.
Parking at the property was great as it fitted all 4 vehicles we travelled in.
In regards to location, we honestly couldn't give a review as we didn't have to leave the property for the whole weekend as everything we needed was there but the drive to and from looked lovely!
Overall, it was a fantastic place to stay and we would definitely recommend using Big House Experience for anyone wanting to stay in an amazing property.

Hi Ashley,
Thank you so much for such a fantastic review. Seven 40th birthdays in one weekend is certainly something worth celebrating, and we’re delighted that Swaffham House provided such a brilliant setting for the occasion!
It sounds as though you really made the most of the house and grounds – we especially admire the commitment to rounders and cornhole despite the rain! We’re so pleased the space worked well for all 15 of you, from cooking together and gathering around the fire pit to simply having plenty of room to relax.
It’s also wonderful to hear that you found booking with us so straightforward and that the support at the property was helpful throughout.
Thank you for recommending us, and hopefully we can help you find another excuse for a big celebration before the next milestone birthdays come around!
Best wishes,
Gareth and the team at Big House Experience.
The Hideaway, an exceptional venue
The Hideaway is an excellent venue for large groups, having ten en suite bedrooms located in a peaceful rural setting. It is easily accessible from both the M4 and M5
The very spacious accommodation includes exceptionally well equipped kitchen and an additional catering kitchen. A wide range of quality equipment was provided. The electric car charger was very convenient and the large covered terraces were particularly useful in the hot weather
The owners are extremely helpful, responding to all over needs and questions and providing a welcome pack.
It is a truly top rate holiday home.

It was a fantastic experience from beginning to end.
We stayed at Crofton Lodge for a special family wedding anniversary and 18th birthday 🎁 celebration. We were a party of 16 which included mixed aged groups and the youngest was 8 months old.
The children and adults never left the pool and juzzi.
Cheltenham was also a fantastic location to see the Cotswolds and to meet up with family from all over the UK.
We also hired a chef named Salim Drouich who was also fantastic and added to our weekend away.
We would use Big House Experiences again with no hesitation and want to thank Liz and Lisa for all their help.
We have made a lasting memory which meant a lot to us.
Many thanks once again.

The most amazing place we have ever…
The most amazing place we have ever stayed in . Pengarth Castle near Macynllyth- as soon as we arrived we were greeted in the drive. The grounds and interior were very high standard - such a high bar to follow actually . Spent a lot of time in the hot tub - which had a sound system and TV as well as the superb views across the valley and estuary . Walks around the extensive grounds - woodland and formal gardens - accentuated by the occasional visit from the local Kites and Osprey from across the valley . All wonderful 😃

Big House Experience were a joy to deal with, as was Rob, the owner of Three Little Pigs. Made us feel very welcome.

This was our second stay at Rippon Hall…and we've booked for a third
This was our second stay at Rippon Hall in Norfolk. Last year we took three generations of family for a week, eight adults and 5 kids (11 -16) and a dog. And it was magic.
There was space for the kids to have their own rooms. The outdoor pool, games room and lawns for croquet or badminton meant they were spoilt for choice without venturing out to the delights of Norfolk.
The Hall and grounds are beautifully looked after. They retain clearly the feel of its owner. And yet we were made to feel that while we were there it was our home. The welcoming team were great - and the practical arrangements were geared to fairly large parties - so there was ample of everything.
At the end of our first visit, we rebooked (by popular demand) for this year. It's always a risk trying to repeat a wonderful experience.
But this year was even better. And showed us that with familiarity comes the freedom to try new things. So, "dear reader", (feeble literary quote), we have booked - on a unanimous vote - to return to Rippon Hall for another week next year.
I would just add that for us this is a combination of the way Big Experience handle our bookings, the very competent and friendly way in which the team on site welcome and support us so that we can enjoy an unforgettable experience in a very special place -Rippon Hall.

Hi Robin,
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. Returning to Rippon Hall for a second year was already a lovely endorsement, but hearing that the second visit managed to surpass the first – and that the unanimous vote is in for year three – really is fantastic!
It’s particularly lovely to hear how at home you feel while you’re there. Rippon Hall has such a special character, and it sounds as though your family has found the perfect place to spend time together, with plenty to keep all three generations (and the dog!) happy.
Thank you also for your very kind words about both our team and those who look after you at the house. Knowing that the whole experience, from booking through to your time at the property, has helped create such special family memories means a great deal to us.
We’ll look forward to welcoming you all back next year for the next chapter – “dear reader” and all!
Best wishes,
Gareth and the team at Big House Experience.

Everything was very efficient and the houses on offer excellent. We really could not fault ours (Boleyn Hall).
The only reason I have not given 5* is that I had to chase them for an answer to a question.

Incredible property!
Incredible property!!
Where do I start?! The entrance gates are the first thing you see when arriving at Bleamoss Hall, they are grand, tall and look very secure. The sweeping driveway builds the anticipation as you approach the building which looks magnificent. Immediately upon entering the house, the feel is of high end boutique hotel, with luxury exuding from every room and detail. The communal spaces are well thought out and comfortable. The contemporary styled kitchen is fully stocked and equipped, meeting every need, and the bean to cup coffee machine was a firm favourite.
The game’s room was heavily utilised during our stay and was a great space.
The bedrooms were all incredibly comfortable with quality linens, heavenly pillows and the complimentary tea and coffee facilities were a really nice touch. I personally had a great nights sleep every night and actually want to know where I can buy those pillows from!!
The best feature of the house is the bar area. Again, well Stocked with cocktail shakers, glasses of all sizes and again, a feeling of opulence, we all enjoyed mixing our favourite signature cocktails and enjoying the space fully. The outdoor space was well utilised and impeccably maintained. My dog enjoyed exploring the many acres, and lying in the fountain when he was a little too hot. It’s very difficult to find fault with this grand property, but if you’re planning on using any streaming services on the TV’s, the WiFi is not quite adequate and the incessant buffering resulted in frustration and abandoning the movie night. I’m hopeful that the broadband situation is something that can be remedied as my family and I are already planning our return to Bleamoss Hall!

Hi Ruth,
Thank you so much for such a fantastic and detailed review. We’re delighted that Bleamoss Hall made such an impression from the moment you came through the gates and that you enjoyed so many of the thoughtful details throughout the house.
It certainly sounds as though you made yourselves at home – particularly behind the bar! We also love the image of your dog making full use of the fountain to cool off. We’ll pass on your comments regarding the WiFi, as well as your very enthusiastic endorsement of those pillows!
The fact that you’re already planning a return says it all. We’d be absolutely delighted to welcome you and the family back for another stay.
Best wishes,

Exceptional Properties, First-Class Service Every Time
We’ve used The Big House Experience multiple times now and have always had a fantastic experience. They have an impressive selection of beautiful and unique properties, with something for almost every type of stay or occasion.
What really sets them apart, though, is the consistently exceptional service. Whether it’s liaising with hosts to help arrange special requests, answering questions or helping with the administrative details of a booking, the team are always responsive, helpful and professional.
Having stayed at a number of different properties through them, the experience has been consistently first class from start to finish. Our recent stay at Ocean House was perfect. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with The Big House Experience again and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a special group stay.
