Amazing as always
Amazing as always, shame I’m from wombwell and delivery is expensive, so I have to drive around 29 minutes each way to get the cake, but using this branch for over 2 years and worth everytime 🥰 the staff always polite, cakes are amazing and they always try their best to accommodate what customer need, easy to order online, outstanding service and wonderful quality.

We’ve ordered from Cake Box many times…
We’ve ordered from Cake Box many times without any issues, but unfortunately, this will be our last order.
My wife’s birthday surprise was ruined by the delivery person’s lack of care. Your response that we should “check the cake at the door” and that you’re therefore not liable for any damage only added to the disappointment.
Why would you ask someone who answers the door to inspect a cake and check the spelling of the name when the order isn’t addressed to them? It was supposed to be a surprise. Handing over inflated balloons and announcing that items were missing from the order hardly helped either.
When I called your main telephone number, the lady I spoke to was extremely rude and made me feel as though I was being told off for complaining. I was then told to find out myself which shop had made the cake and contact them directly. Surely your team should be able to identify the shop from my order and help resolve the complaint.
Mistakes happen, but the way you handle them matters. What should have been a lovely birthday surprise turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience.
I wish you all the best, but you’ve lost a returning customer.

Bad food colour that spoiled the taste of the cake
The food colouring used in the cake was too strong and that tasted a bit off it. The red colour didn’t come off the hands and the mouth even after multiple wash. Cakes were kid’s bday party. So it was a major turn off for the parents and the kids

Cake Box were brilliant
Cake Box were brilliant. We had an issue with my daughter standing in the cake and they took the cake back and fixed it within the hour for a small fee saving the day. The cake looked great and my daughter was thrilled. Highly recommend.

My daughter's cake ruined
Ordered a cake with a chocolate base which you have to pay extra for. When we cut the cake it was a vanilla base. My daughter wouldn't even take a bite so the party was ruined. I had to get her another cake. Emailed cakebox and they got back to me to say they're sorry and they'll investigate. I wasn't offered a refund/compensation straightaway. I provided proof of my order and the vanilla base cake. Still waiting for a reply and my refund/compensation. I was a regular customer but I won't be ordering from the again. Terrible customer service.

I am extremely disappointed with both…
I am extremely disappointed with both the quality of the cake and the customer service. I ordered a strawberry cake for my daughter’s birthday, expecting a fresh cake prepared for the occasion. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I watched the lady take a cake straight from the display and add the birthday message to it. She then told me that she hadn’t had enough time to prepare it.
The cake looked old, and the strawberries on it were partially rotten. When I pointed this out, instead of apologising or trying to resolve the issue, the lady told me that the strawberries “weren’t that bad”.
I find this attitude completely unacceptable. This was supposed to be a birthday cake for my child, not a cake taken from a display case with serious questions about its freshness.
