We chose this company over cheaper alternatives largely because of Callum Kerr, who was excellent from start to finish—knowledgeable, approachable, and willing to help even after installation.
Neil and the installation team did a very good job and were quick and efficient. However, the office support was a real letdown.
An inspection appointment was missed after an email went into spam, and despite it containing important information that required a response from me, no one called to check I had received it. As there is no phone support from Friday to Sunday, (which makes resolving issues impossible over a weekend), I had to wait 3 days before discovering that the inspection had been rescheduled for the following Friday, (5 days before the install!)
They also threatened to not remove the scaffolding, withhold certificates and SEG paperwork until they had received payment, an unnecessary threat owing to my having already paid in full, when I responded as such, it took days to confirm the payment and weeks for the paperwork to arrive.
Leaving all the packaging for disposal wasn't reasonable, especially a large pallet that I had to cut up with a saw to get into my car for disposal, I wonder how older customers would have coped with this?
The scaffolding contractors were the biggest disappointment: rude, damaged fence panels and a garden light, and left debris behind.
Great solar install, but the office and scaffolding experience really spoiled it.

Efficient and effective

Update: our problem was resolved with a technician's visit on August 21st for which we paid £100 plus parts. Good value after a long lead-in.

Our array was installed by these people three years ago but we have a row of PV panels that has not been generating for some time. The company will not respond to voice calls, emails, or website request for call back. SO frustrating! Update: On July 16th we asked for clarification of what the £100 call-out charge included and requested detail of further potential charges. Although the company found time to reply to the above review on Trustpilot they still haven't replied to us! Meanwhile, only half our PV panels are able to generate as the other half are disabled by the fault. We did receive a call from a very nice salesman just after we posted this review, but he was unable to answer service questions. We don't like giving a negative review, but is it a way of getting a reponse at last from the company's service department?

From the initial enquiry and then meeting Callum to the installation and initial teething problems setting up. The service was outstanding. I didn’t feel pushed into anything and there were lots of options available options to suit my budget.

I’m very happy with my solar installation and the whole experience with this company. Callum and Neil did a fantastic job with planning the system and carrying out the installation. They were professional, knowledgeable, and kept me informed throughout the process.

Overall 5*+ experience. No hard sale. Callum visited my property in person rather than providing a quote over the phone. Very knowledgeable, was able to answer all my technical questions unlike a salesman being in my property. Very professional service. Looking forward to my savings moving forward.

I contacted this company for cavity wall insulation and extraction Cullom kerr came to do the survey for us and told us that the in cavity insulation was there and needed to come out and said that he would sort it out for us and then we had a phone call from Catherine at the office and she said that we had to pay a deposit which we thought was ok but she was very demanding so I paid the deposit a couple of weeks wet bye so I rang Cullom and he said that he would sort it a week later we had a phone call from max energy and said that they are going to do a cavity extraction and they did and then when they finished Catherine was very persistent for the balance to be paid which Cullom had not done a survey which when I contacted him he came back and done a survey and he told me that I should contact j j crump for my cavity wall insulation so he told me that it would be better if I contacted them directly and i did and there surveyor came and did the survey and he said that some of the insulation is still in my wall at the front of my house and in the back of my house so I contacted Cullom kerr again and he told me that he would sort it out for me so i left it with him and 4 weeks later he will not answer my calls and the office will not answer my calls and my emails so in turn i have paid for cavity wall extraction which has not been done properly thanks to carbon saving energy so stay away for this company for cavity wall extraction and installation thank you.

Callum Kerr came in person rather than just look at my roof from Google Earth.

There was no pressure and no underhand sales tactics (unlike other salesmen). He clearly knew his stuff.

The survey he did was very factual (no over-promising), and did his best to find ways to maximise the number of panels.

He was also extremely patient in answering all my questions.
It was a real pleasure to deal with him. He genuinely listened to my requests and where possible made them happen.

The Carbon Saving group were very flexible to my needs, and true to their word and beat others on price.

The panels and battery were installed in a day, and within weeks of agreeing. The installation team were good as well.

I'm extremely pleased with the installation and quality of everything.

I'm looking forward now to reducing my energy bills.

Callum came to my property and worked to try to find the best battery solution for my ( non standard) solar array. Very informative/ no hard sell/ genuine customer centred advice.

I, like many other people, saw a piece about 'free solar power installations' based on what transpired to be false promises. However, one of the many contacts I received was from Callum Kerr and he explained the problem about the false promises (designed to collect data then made availble to a range of solar energy installers), did not pressure me (unlike some of the other responses I received) but delivered three preliminary options based upon our dialogue. Based upon his valued input I did not go ahead with any supplier but were I to change my mind - he would be the person I would call.

Engineer turn up on time with all equipment and install in hours. Ran me through all settings on computer and was happy with advise. Very happy with price and work.

I regret choosing Carbon Saving Group for my PV system. Not only has the system underperformed from the start, but the installation wasn't even completed on the day. They forgot to install the earthing rod, and I had to chase them afterwards to come back and finish the job - something that should never happen with a professional installer.
Support since then has been just as frustrating. They respond to emails when they feel like it, and when they do there is no urgency or meaningful help.
This company might be fast to take your money, but their aftercare is poor, communication is inconsistent, and they clearly don't prioritise customer satisfaction once the install is done.
Carbon Saving Group talks a good game but in reality, you're left with an incomplete, underperforming system which you paid thousands of pounds for, and a company that doesn't stand by its work. Very dissapointing.

Was recommended to use them, loads better than more expensive national company. Prompt fitting when we decided to use them. Really good follow up, especially with finding better tariff - thanks Callum!

Just had carbon saving group round to fit solar very happy all the team were friendly Tom the surveyor explained everything we needed to know , help us pick the right system , there were so many to chose from, the installers were all great finished on time and in the rain thanks guys great team work would highly recommend.
