I paid off a mental health hospital bill with my care credit account online at the hospital’s website. When the option didn’t come up to offer me 3-12 months at 0% interest to pay off the bill with care credit, I texted care credit . I asked the representative why it is not showing the bill I paid under a promotional 0% interest and why it didn’t give me the option of how many months I want to pay it off, I was told it would show when the transaction was completed. At that moment it was still in a pending status. I could have requested to have the transaction cancelled if I hadn’t been lied to.
So the next day I checked on the charge and it showed the transaction completed but still not listed under a 0% promotion. So I used my previous ticket number and reached back out to care credit. This time I was told that the service provider has to offer the promotion to me at the time of service. I explained AGAIN that I paid this bill online the previous day and was told the promotion would be applied once the transaction completed. This new representive assured me this was not the case and the service provider is not listed as a medical provider anyway. What? I asked for a supervisor.
The supervisor told me that he cannot stop/reverse the transaction now that it is complete and I’m not allowed to pay it off with another lower interest bearing credit card, BUT he said I could pay it off with a balance transfer. Ok. A hassle but not insurmountable.
My husband opened a credit card with our bank that has a 0% balance transfer for 12 months just so we could move the balance from the care credit account to this new credit card but I was wary. I have another $3k ambulance bill I wanted to put on the care credit card before doing a balance transfer and paying the care credit off, but I was worried. What if care credit or my bank pull some other hijinks. So I called and confirmed my bank doesn’t have any issues with doing a balance transfer with care credit but I may want to check with care credit to make sure they don’t reject the payment. Again what?
So this time I call. I call in person so there is no misunderstanding or miscommunication. The rep I spoke said they accept balance transfer and gave me the address to mail the check. I was just about ready to hang up when I confirmed that all I would have to do is give the address she gave me to the credit card company and tell them I want to do a balance transfer with my care credit account and they won’t need anything else? This is when she said that they do not accept payments from credit cards. If I want to send a check to that address then I can. Ok. Final time. What???? I informed the rep that balance transfers are when you pay off one account with another, usually another credit card, because the transaction she was describing is called PAYING OFF THE BALANCE!!! EVERY CREDIT CARD WILL LET YOU DO THAT!!!!
So it appears as though not only am I F’ed by the hospital and ambulance company but I’m being F’ed by care credit.
In the 15 pages of small legalese they send you when you first sign up for a care credit it probably tells you all this, but I read it and checked with my lawyer as much as the rest of the saps with a care credit card. Beware!

I used CareCredit to finance $5,000 in hearing aids and was told my monthly payment would be $179 until the balance was paid off. I set up automatic payments specifically so I wouldn’t have to monitor the account every month.

On 7/1/2026, I was suddenly charged $2,635.64 in interest, with no warning. When I called, I was told my “promotion” had ended — a promotion I was never informed about, never agreed to, and never received any notice for as it approached the end. They offered a 30‑day grace period, which I only learned about because I happened to catch the charge by chance.

I paid off the balance immediately, and they agreed to waive the fee. But on the next statement, they added another $65 interest charge, even though my account showed a credit balance. I had to call again (after another hour‑long wait) to get that removed. Then I was told I had to call back again a week later to request a refund of my credit balance, and then wait 7–10 days for a check.

Every step required long hold times, multiple calls, and no accountability for their lack of communication. If I hadn’t caught the charges myself, I would have been stuck paying thousands in surprise interest.

Added an authorized user to my account. 3 weeks later still have not received a card. They said 7 to 10 days. Called and inquired, they see the addition, no card sent. Also, reduced line of credit, said they sent a letter. After further review, they never sent a notification letter of credit reduction. Now 7 to 10 days again for additional card. Had to request increase in credit. Still not as high as original line. Income is the same. Credit is excellent!!

They have processed my payments incorrectly multiple times. This has left me so upset because I make my payments on time every month and yet they have hidden my so called expired promotional purchases with balances due, which never had their payment allocated correctly for my statement so that I keep getting charged interest and when I called, they keep telling me that I’m unable to file a dispute because they can’t track down how my payments were allocated incorrectly. This is such a predatory company. Please do not trust CareCredit.

I received a card with care credit with a limit of $7000. I used the card twice. Once for the entire $7000 and paid it down to under $3000. Then I used it again for $3000. Then I noticed my limit go down. It has happened 4 times. Everytime I get the balance down and the available credit goes up they lower it. This hurts your credit score. Utilization ratio goes up!!!!! They do not send out a notice or a reason why. Customer service only says we review your account regularly and make adjustments as needed. I’ve had their card for over two years and never missed a payment. I can’t wait to pay this off. I may as well close the account and deal with the drop in my score. Then rebound. No sense in letting them continue to hurt my score.

This company spams my email constantly with no ability to block or delete. I have no idea how well they work, but have no interest in their spam, nor would I ever use them because of the negative feelings I now have towards them.

Just a terrible financial institution. Did help out during an unexpected emergency. I pay 1k a month have set up auto pay that never works so they hit you with the late fee. Manger just hung up on me when I called and gave my name and the reason I was calling. No call back so it was intentional. Spoke with Hugo today (the manager at 6:45pm he asked why I was calling I told him he hung up right away TERRIBLE COMPANY THIS IS FOLKS THERE ARE OTHER WAYS DURING AN EMERGENCY!!!!

Care credit has a awful customer service period. You will wait over half an hour for each call only to find out.You'll have to call about two or three times to get through.Because you will run into someone that doesn't know what they're doing.They hang up on you. You will experience that.They don't listen to your needs, but rather what they think.Your needs are. They they will have the customer service manager with no experience. When you finally get to someone that can talk to you. According to my experience, it was someone from synchrony bank called Marianna. What's an awful manager. She was combative, right out the gate, and she just was talking to me like I was a child. When I stated to her what my concerns were in customer service and how they even had me waiting for over 2 hours. She was more worried about how else can she help me? As opposed to helping me put in a complaint. She kept talking over me and she did not care by dismissing my concerns on my account with my name and was just giving me whatever she could to lure me away from my main objective, which was to concern on my account. I now have read a lot of customer service reviews and realize that I've dodged the bullet by them. Not being the ones that I use to care for my pet. Their customer service is absolutely awful, and they will do everything they can to detour. You from your main concern about your account and dismiss your needs. Based on my experience, I am sharing this with you so others don't go through weather.Myself and my family went through.

carecredit providers are not loyal with their customers and charging the balance which doesn’t belong to me and it was fraudulently charged from Earth spa with a conversation that I can cancel this service any time and I did cancel within one month. I did not get a single Facial from them out of 12 but they charge me 2200 and CareCredit is helping them and charging me. These are fraudulent charges against I will fight and I will not pay a penny to them be aware of care credit.

If you make a duplicate payment, they WILL NOT refund the payment instantly to you no matter what. They tell you that you have to speak to a manager but the manager will not do it either. All they will do is mail a CHECK to your address and it takes 2-3 WEEKS. This is very very poor service and it is a lie that they cannot reverse the payment. They take our payments instantly and electronically so that means they can easily reverse the payment instantly and electronically. Also, they need something in place to prevent a duplicate payment in the first place, otherwise they need to return the second payment immediately. They refused so I want to let people know of their shifty policy.

Calling it CareCredit is misleading—ScareCredit would be a more accurate name. My experience was extremely disappointing. The payment terms ended up costing me far more than I expected, and I felt the way everything was presented wasn't as clear as it should have been. I regret opening this account and will never use it again. Read every detail before signing up, because you could end up paying much more than you anticipate. I would not recommend it to anyone.

I was charged twice on the same day for vet services. I called to have it resolved. They assured me that it would be taken care of.
9 months later and its still on my account. Called again and was assured that they would take care of it.
2 weeks later and its still on my account.

I am very unhappy with Care Credit. I've had 3 issues over the last 3 billing cycles, and get a different story each time. Now they say they can't refund the interest they charged me because it was one statement period ago. If you make me charges and have a deferred interest balance, you MUST CALL THEM to tell them to apply your payment to the new balance with the rest to the deferred interest. If you don't, they will apply it to the deferred balance and hit you with 32.99% interest on your new purchases. And then give you the run around and not reimburse you for the interest. I would NOT recommend using them

Carecredit...you have to watch them.
I was almost finished making payments on this account. I was making my monthly payments on time mind you, they said that I had a promotion that I wasn't even aware of that expired on June 23, 2026 and that because I still had a balance they charged me interest of $1,233.00 to my account which raised my balance back up to $3300+ which is ridiculous was almost finished paying and they said there's nothing that can do. They said if I make a payment in full of $1,400+ the fees would be waived if paid in 30 days, if I had that much money I would have already paid it. They said there was nothing they can do to help me. I haven't used the account in over a year + because I was trying to pay it off. So, I just wanted to let you know to be aware if you are using this Carecredit company please just pay attention to everything because that is not right. I'll definitely find another way to get the services that I need but not with this company anymore.

In a time of desperation, people sign up for this without fully understanding what they are getting into. Make sure you pay every penny, literally every penny, before the expiration period, or the entire interest rate hits, even if the rest of it is paid off. 33% interest. I won't use it again. Unfortunately, it will likely mean I cannot provide more then routine medical care for my pet in the future. Terrible company to take advantage of people like this.

This company prays on people who don't have money for dental or health care. If you do not pay within your promotional period, what they don't tell you is they will charge you the interest at 33% for the entire purchase. Not your remaining balance. I had $300 left on my bill and I just checked and I had $973 added in interest. I call and they wont remove it. I was two months away from paying off my entire balance and I've been making $175 payments. I want to throw up.

They did me a solid once on some interest reversals, that's why not 1 star. But I see why they are horrible. I received the "incompetent and / or mean customer service ""help""" today. Don't use this company, after paying for years and finally paying off a balance and their ridiculous interest charges they lowered my available credit because I took out a $10,000 loan somewhere else.

Care Credit, their customer service & interest rates are horrible. I had a bad experience with them when I paid off my account in full. 2 days later the balance showed it wasn’t paid. I submitted payment again which was $9,987. Synchrony (care credit) deducted this amount twice from my account and wouldn't refund me. I had to get my bank involved who retrieved the amount. Care Credit charged me a $34 fee (for paying me back the $9,987 they took from me); a fee I never knew about because the notice they alleged they sent to me was not received. I thought I was paid in full. They reported to the credit bureau a 30 days late pmt, which reduced my score from 800 to 720. They were unwilling to help clear this up.

A Supervisor kept talking down to me as an Example, telling me she wasn’t asking open ended questions when I gave more than a yes or no answer. Yes, that did upset me and yes, I did ask her if I was being interrogated or being questioned.

The experience with them was beyond bad!

If I could have rated them a zero, I would have.

I applied to see what credit limit they'd give me. Since doing so I have been receiving nonstop calls, emails and letters. To the point of harassment. Not only from them but for companies they sold my information to. I was considering going through with them but if this is how they act before I even sign the dotted line, I can imagine how they'd be once I owe them money.

I cannot stand Care Credit/Synchrony Bank! I had a dispute with a ripoff dentist and Care Credit continually sides with the dentist/doctor. They will make you pay no matter what the circumstances are.
So then I start paying on my balance for about 7 months and notice the balance is off about 200.00
I call to find out why? They tell me it’s not at the zero interest rate anymore. Which I find hard to believe because it has not even been 1 year since I saw the dentist. I know I had 0% interest on my contract until I paid it off. It said so, on my statement.
I’m going to pay this balance off and be done with these people. Also going to cancel my Amazon card as well because they are Synchrony Bank also.
Everything going forward, if I need to, will be put on my Venture Capital One card. If you have a legitimate dispute, they will believe you!
