CHIP Reverse Mortgage Reviews 

I found the process of applying for a Reverse Mortgage was very easy, I felt very supported in my decision without any Hard Selling going on. I was given much information about any factors involved, so I could make a educated decision. Christian Bozza was a very easy to deal with . answered all questions and emails promptly.

Hugh and Janet were wonderful to work with. They always answered my questions and if I sent a question by text, the phone was ringing shortly thereafter with a friendly answer.
The only thing that was a concern was the shortfall at the very end. I had been prepared for a $10-$12,000 amount payable and it ended up being $15,000+. I had to make an extra trip to the bank to get this extra amount transferred at the last minute. If there was any way I could have been forewarned of this it would have been greatly appreciated.
The only other thing I would have liked to see was (and is) a breakdown of that final amount. I don’t know if that is something HE can do or if it is up to RBC or FCT. All in all it was a good experience and I thank Janet and Hugh for their hard work in making this process a reality!!

Home Equity Bank made the arranging of our Reverse Mortgage very efficient and remarkably quick. All interactions were via phone and email through Aaron who was professional as well as easy to talk with and always very quick to respond.

This was a new experience for me and I completely relied on the direction of the lenders. I was not aware of the time it takes (and the waiting time) to contact some of the companies. There were also many last minute and time sensitive tasks that the lenders required me to do. Looking back I would have appreciated an outline of what was expected from me.

I spent a lot of time investigating the concept of a CHIP reverse mortgage. Like most people I was hesitant at first and asked many questions. Was never rushed to decide. Gaurav my rep was always interested and helped guide me to the benefits. I am confident that I made the right choice and once my decision was made everything moved quickly into place. For me it’s the right choice and I still own my home and can still sell down the road … there is still equity to hopefully grow. I have explained CHIP to friends and they too have participated themselves.

I was very disappointed in the length of time the process took and the fact that my house was appraised at a certain price and they dropped it down quite a bit because of the Toronto market. If I had known id end with such a small payout at the end I would have backed out
