The CHIP Reverse Mortgage is something we've been thinking of for some time. It fits our needs to extract a portion of our equity in our house while still living there.

Going with a reverse mortgage was a very big decision for us. We need a monthly income to supplement our $2800 in pensions.
Upon contacting the CHIP main number we received an immediate call back by Audra Branigan who answered all of our questions and sent us some easy to follow information. The application was very straight forward with Audra and Kevin Ovelson assisting and approval came within days; not weeks as we had experienced with other mortgage companies we had dealt with in the past. Initial fund received 9 days ahead of time so we are very pleased.

It was a pleasure dealing with Holly as the process progressed. She was very knowledgeable and helpful helping us navigate through the process as smoothly as possible.

Impressed with the service.

From day one I was skeptical of exploring a re verse mortgage. There is so much poor information out there regarding the process.
In exploring the positive and negatives of a reverse mortgage I found that there were fewer negatives and greater positives for my situation.
The agent Hisham Abouraya was straightforward and not leading towards a contract. There was no pressure just facts.
I discussed my situation and he was able to put together a decent proposal that I could be satisfied with.
Once I decided that a reverse mortgage was the way to go Hisham made the process seamless and with no surprises.
My situation had some extenuating aspects and he was extremely adept in working out the pros and cons.
I am very happy to have had such great guidance in this process.

My only disappointment with the CHIP reverse mortgage through Home Equity Bank is that I did not act sooner. A bit of background; I am 76 years old and not knowing how I could afford to retire. All I could think of is sell my condo and whatever equity I had left was my future. That was until sitting in the office of my mortgage manager (it was up for renewal) I asked for information on the reverse mortgage that I had heard of but knew nothing. She put me in contact with Chris Hoeppner at Home Equity Bank. Talking with Chris he explained very clearly, slowly and in a language I could understand. I said this sounds too good to be true and experience has taught me that is usually the case. He was extremely transparent with every aspect of how it worked. I said I was interested, but had to think about it. Chris then told me his field representative Sam Sinclair would be my contact and Sam will also walk me through step by step everything I need to know to be comfortable. I cannot thank Chris or Sam enough. For the first time in over twenty years I can honestly say I can retire. I am EXTREMELY pleased with Home Equity Bank and will recommend them to anyone who wants to know how to have a comfortable retirement.

All in all, it is a very well oiled procedure, an I like the fact that HEB is owned by the Ontario Teachers Pension.
