Unethical conduct and deeply unprofessional handling of legal process
My experience with DCB Legal Ltd has been extremely concerning and, in my view, wholly unacceptable.
A County Court Judgment was obtained against me without my knowledge. I did not receive any of the alleged correspondence, including the Letter of Claim or the Claim Form. When I raised this, no evidence of proper service was provided. Simply stating that letters were sent is not proof they were ever delivered.
Rather than properly addressing this, my complaint was dismissed with a generic response that failed to engage with the core issue. Responsibility was shifted onto me without justification, despite the serious consequences of obtaining a judgment without confirmed notice.
What is particularly troubling is that I made it clear I am willing to resolve the matter and pay any legitimate amount owed. This was ignored. Instead, an inflexible position has been maintained, with no meaningful attempt to review or correct what appears to be a flawed process.
Obtaining a judgment in these circumstances raises serious concerns about fairness and adherence to proper legal standards. The lack of accountability shown in their response has only compounded the issue.
Due to the way this has been handled, I am now escalating this matter to the Legal Ombudsman and the Solicitors Regulation Authority for formal investigation.
I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution and to challenge any assumptions made without clear evidence.

They should be negative stars for these piranhas! I received a court letter letter today for over £240 for parking over by about 10 minutes if that, in a disabled bay two years ago. I had my badge on display. I will fight them and counter sue for £5,000 if they actually win for disability racism and a wrongful claim. How on earth can they take me to court for parking legally in a FREE disabled bay is beyond me! Signage was not visible to me at all. This company is full of uneducated bullies who will turn on one another eventually. A total disgrace to their so called profession!
My brother passed away in October
My brother passed away in October, and from November I have been inundated with letters to my address for him. He has never lived here. Despite several phone calls and emails, several times uploaded his death certificate, even after being reassured they would update their records, still the letters arrive. It’s horrendous. I’m grieving for my brother, and have suffered and am still suffering with severe anxiety and stress. At 1 point when I gave my brothers name followed by (Deceased) the person asked me to spell it thinking it was his surname. Disgusting ! I am totally stressed to bits.
Asked several times for their complaints procedure but just been ignored. It’s now going to be dealt with by a solicitor, and hopefully this can be sorted and I can pull myself together and relieve the unnecessary stress caused.

DCB Legal do not send out pre action…
DCB Legal do not send out pre action documents and get CCJ s without you even being aware. Many people pay up as the £1 parking ticket is now £301! People look at legal fees and work out financially and stress wise it's not worth fighting. But, please, complain to the law society. You will get many rejection letters from SRA saying they can't see a breach(as they have a back log of 4000 investigations), but if we all stand together, one day they will have to do something. The above is my experience.

Under their guidance l wrote a letter 18th Feb 2026 to settle the issue in their favour. Despite being totally unaware of their claim against me.
It was my understanding they would have to prepare a Consent Order setting the judgement aside , basically removing the Register of Judgments , credit reference agencies.
Heard nothing.
Instead they continued with the action.
Completely against their assurances they would review my case before any further action.
Whilst l wait for a response they continue with actions, totally unethical and should be thrown out of any court.

I refer to the above judgment, which has recently come to my attention.
I understand proceedings were served at Rishworth Hunting Lodge, Rishworth, Sowerby Bridge, HX6 3SA. This address has never been my residence, and I did not receive the claim form or any prior correspondence. I was therefore denied the opportunity to respond before judgment was entered.
In light of the apparent defect in service, I reserve my right to apply to the court for the judgment to be set aside pursuant to CPR 13.2.
However, in order to resolve this matter swiftly and without further cost to either party, I am prepared to pay the full outstanding balance of £293.09 on the condition that you agree to a Consent Order setting aside the judgment and confirming that it will be removed from the Register of Judgments and all credit reference agencies.
Please confirm in writing that you will agree to a consent set aside and provide a draft Consent Order for signature. Upon receipt of confirmation, I will arrange immediate payment.

Explore options before using DCBL
I believe that when using debt recovery services, greater care and transparency are needed. In my experience, the process becomes ineffective as soon as a debtor claims vulnerability. While I understand that situations involving mental health or other vulnerabilities must be handled sensitively, it appears far too easy for such claims to halt enforcement entirely, with little clarity or support provided to the creditor.
I am not confident that staff are adequately trained to assess or manage these situations consistently. What often follows is a lack of progress, limited communication, and the responsibility falling back on me to chase updates or payments. Despite the fees involved, I have not seen the level of service or results that were initially suggested.
It is particularly disappointing to be told that recovery is possible, only for the process to stall, and then to be charged additional fees such as £75 for withdrawing the debt without any meaningful outcome.
Overall, I find the service lacking in effectiveness, accountability, and value for money. Based on my experience, I would not recommend it, and it appears that many other reviews reflect similar concerns this also concerned me.

This company is constantly harassing me. I have submitted my case to the court over a year ago which the court have acknowledged and told me that DCB legal failed to submit their case before the deadline so it not going to court . But a year later I’m still getting 3 calls a day !! When I pick up I’m on hold for over 30mins or get cut off .. I didn’t park so
give me a court date or leave me alone !!

Absolutely disgraceful that this company is able to operate. They lie repeatedly. They send threatening letters and continuous phone calls. They prey on vulnerable people. How long before they tip somebody over the edge? I can believe the regulators actually aren’t doing anything. Someone somewhere needs to grow a pair!!
