Detectivemysterymasters Reviews

Good fun, takes a bit of time but if you work as a team it's all good.

Ordered an item and while it did get lost the first time I emailed them and they sent me a new one for free! We played it with friends and it was so much fun. The attention to detail and qr codes and all. In an age of digital media it's nice to have something physical every now and again.

I ordered the three mystery one and had great fun with my family.

As I wasn’t needing it urgently, the delivery time didn’t affect me.

My daughter was especially smitten by it

I was actually impressed by the details eg quality of name cards, photos of suspects actually.

I ordered the Van Hout Story a couple months ago. Finally got a chance to play. 5 of us on the "investigating team". It made for a delightful evening. I ended up ordering 3 new games to have on hand and will be using them when guests arrive this summer. I wish they offered more Detective series.

UPDATE: I don't get all of these negative reviews on shipping. I've ordered from them 3 times and never had an issue.

I ordered and received the three mysteries. I ordered at the beginning of December and received the package in time for the holidays.
It's fun and entertaining.
In my case it wasn't a scam.
Sorry about that situation for so many of you.

Unlike a some of other reviewers, my experience w/Detective Mystery Masters was exceptional - from their website, to ordering & shipping. The items were ordered as a Christmas gift for my grandchildren, who enjoyed playing.

Ordered 3 mysteries prior to Christmas ( 1 for each adult child) arrived in plenty of time. They have added the mysteries to their collections of box games. No complaints from any household!

I ordered 3 pack and when it arrived, we were excited. We took them on vacation with us for a fun game night. they were challenging but still doable. My wife and daughter and 2 grandsons could not stop. ended up having a second game night to finish them up.

Quiet service. Nice quality. Enjoyed myself with doing it.

Ordered the 3 case pack for Christmas and had a great time as a family solving the cases!! All items arrived on time and everything we needed was there! A lot of fun to be had solving the mysteries!!

There are not enough stars for me to review this phenomenal product! I bought one of the mystery cases as a fun activity for my husband and I. It was a Christmas gift to us!
On the day we decided to crack it open and solve the case - our 11-year-old son joined us. I had no idea it would take us on a two hour adventure that felt like we were real detectives solving a real crime!
The package comes with everything you need - beautifully printed pictures of suspects, forensic, and laboratory reports, clues that you need to look at and think carefully about and directions on when to use the Internet and various website websites that provide additional clues. It is exactly like what a detective would do to solve a crime.
My favorite part was not only a well thought out story and characters, but the fact that there were certain clues only our 11-year-old picked up on and some that either myself or my husband did. I loved that the best - any age can do this and participate and be equally as helpful as everyone else. There were many clues we missed too.
When you buy this set - and do yourself a favor and buy a bundle with multiple case cases because as soon as you are done, you will want another one - solve it in a room where you can pin the pictures on the wall, use sticky notes for clues and connections- and you will have two full hours of entertainment.
It is so well-made and so well organized - I have not seen something so fun and challenging and exciting in this genre of games for years!
Trust me it is THE BEST!

We had a great experience with this “cold case in an envelope” concept. My 17-year-old got completely drawn in—it wasn’t just a game, it felt like working through a real investigation. The clues were well-balanced: challenging enough to feel rewarding, but never so difficult that it stalled the momentum. The storyline unfolded in a way that kept her engaged the whole time, with just enough twists to keep things interesting. Definitely one of the more memorable gifts she’s received.

We ordered the set before a family vacation. We dove into the first mystery and had a great time solving it! Two nights later, we tackled #2.

It was a great experience. We made many memories, and we still talk about the fun we had several months later! We will DEFINITELY be ordering more!

I ordered these as a bundle for my wife’s birthday. Everything arrived in a timely manner. A great experience for us.

Excellent gift idea - well done, love it!

Really enjoyed reading through this with the family and a few friends. We looked for motive and simply had to take a step back and specifically answer the question that was asked. This game has great potential! I like how they have been able to refine and will continue to do so in the future!

Got everything I ordered, as described.
Misplaced something and reached out to customer service and they responded promptly and helped me locate what I thought was missing.
It's a neat little thing but it requires an internet connection so you can't just play it anywhere.
The scenarios aren't that hard. Which is also good, you want the group to feel like they solved it.
It's a fun few hours but it's a bit expensive.

Our mystery was a lot of fun. We (4 of us) spent more time trying to find secret angles for everything like an episode of CSI and did a lot of laughing and guessing. The interactive nature of how to proceed via email added some great authenticity and we were ecstatic about solving it.

Ordered the 10 game bundle in January 2026, and as of 8th April have not received it. Tracking has not moved since the 19th January so I have raised a chargeback with my credit card. I have contacted their support email a number of times, but not had any response to date. I did get the digital download 'free gift' with my order, and printed it yesterday. It's 30+ pages to print, so quite a lot, but it absolutely doesn't make up for the lack of receiving what I paid for. I had seen the game advertised on Facebook and did a quick look at reviews at the time, I'm really sorry now I didn't do a more comprehensive check - haha, I failed as a detective!

Ordered 10 (2 5pk) on December 15th - just received 5…it’s Sunday, March 29th!! Lots of excuses, no refunds.
