Impossible to get hold of them. Emails get returned with domain unknown. Live Chat it is NOT, it is a BOT. When you telephone, you are asked to request a call back using live chat.

Was sad to see some bad reviews as our experience - and our first with this company - was excellent. Great price, delivered really speedily and we are very happy customers.
Two things - the two emails telling us the item was “being prepared” came days and weeks after we’d received it and have fed that back. Also the box it was delivered in was about 6 times the size of the item?!!

UPDATE: Today, 13/6/25, I received an email from the MD of Electrical World with an “overdue invoice”. Now this is serious matter and will be forwarded to CCPC and ECPI. I would avoid purchasing from this company at all cost.

I had a deeply frustrating experience with Electrical World after placing two fully paid orders in April 2025 (Order #466892 was placed and paid on 10/4/25 and invoice INV-33780 placed and paid on 21/4/25). Despite repeated email correspondence, it took five weeks for the company to confirm the contents of my order, and even then, the information was inconsistent and incomplete.
Communication was painfully slow, evasive, and often non-responsive. There was no phone number available to speak to a real person, and I was passed between staff who failed to clarify basic details such as delivery timeframes or confirm the full list of items I paid for. My emails were met with vague responses and delays, with no effort to resolve the issue proactively.
Due to the ongoing delays, lack of clarity, and poor customer service, I cancelled both orders this afternoon and requested a full refund. I have since submitted formal written complaints to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission and the European Consumer Centre Ireland, and also contacted the Managing Director directly via LinkedIn
I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking reliability, professionalism, or accountability. My experience has caused unnecessary stress, wasted time, and delayed my planned gardening project significantly.

I ordered a number of Knightsbridge antique brass electrical switches online in March in preparation for my new kitchen installation. I was able to order all required parts (i.e. they appeared to be in stock) and paid additional postage to receive the items in 2-3 days. A couple of weeks later I received an e-mail stating that half of the order was being delivered. No date was given for the remaining items. With my electrician booked I was forced to go out and source many of the items from another supplier. The first half of the delivery eventually arrived on 8 April.
I asked Electrical World to process a refund for the items that I had to purchase elsewhere. This was agreed on 18th April and they stated that processing may take 5-7 days. As of today (9 May) I'm still waiting for the refund.
I was comforted by the fact their website states "Live chat is available 24/7" but this means that you are 100% relying on them answering you. In my many e-mails sent requesting updates and resolution none were responded to in anything near 24 hours.
On Wednesday this week (May 7th) I received an e-mail stating the second half was ready for delivery and given an An Post tracking number. When I checked tracking An Post have no knowledge of it. I e-mailed Electrical World and today got a response that the items had been delivered but when I checked the tracking number on the An Post site I realised they had used the tracking number for the first half of the delivery on 8 April!
I suspected I would never receive the second half of my order nor get the agreed refund however by 16 June the situation was all resolved to my satisfaction.
Electrical World is a company with a decent website that makes it easy to order from a very good range of products at a good price. However in their hurry to provide an inexpensive ‘up to the minute’ customer service experience via their online chat function they have actually ended up providing one of the worst and most frustrating customer service experiences I have ever experienced. This could be easily resolved by providing a telephone line for customers to call in the event that the chat function cannot resolve the customer’s issue as was the case for me. Ultimately Electrical World made good on all its promises but only after 3 months of multiple e-mails and extraordinary frustration.
