Most engaging utility provider
Electric Kiwi is the best utility provider I have ever experienced. Their responsiveness is second to none, pricing plans are adaptable, economic and your consumption data is readily accessible and well presented. I'll certainly say them again and recommend to one and all!

This company is absolutely shocking
This company is absolutely shocking, I pay my bill and the next week I find I am pay a lot more than what I expected. We went away for the weekend come back and our power bills had sky rocket and yet there was no one home in this particular weekend. It is only myself and husband that live in the apartment and he is away working most times and I am away at nights. I have tried to msg the support team through live chat but no one has given any answers. I have trouble with the banking system they have in place it doesn’t allow me to use it the app only allows my credit card details so I am surcharged every time I pay my account. If I try to use the banking system they have in place the whole app locks me out of my bank account and I have to go into the bank. They haven’t answered any of my questions as yet. This become annoying and very frustrating 😡

Just dont there absolute liers and scamed every one when frank shut down power bill was over double what i was paying even though they were the cheapest option on power switch absolute scam. Have now changed to power shop and bills are manageable again thankfull

Just a small comparison...
Contact will supply power at 13.2 cents kwh off peak 26.4 kwh peak times and $3.28 a day.
Electric Kiwi will do 30.21 cents kwh off peak. 33.56 peak times and $2.67 day plus the free hour each day for an hour at the time they designate....
So a similar plan but way more expensive.
Correct me if I'm wrong Electric Kiwi.

Pricing and usage can indeed vary widely, and it’s important to find the best fit for your household to suit the usage you have. Larger retailers also can often customize deals for properties with higher price categories since they have more leeway to do so, while pricing in general (and ours) is influenced by several factors, including network charges, EA levies, meter configurations, area location, and the price category assigned to your meter.
For some properties (e.g with higher price codes), for sure we don't have a better deal, so we highly encourage people to browse and research the best plans for their households! PowerSwitch can be a great site for that! The largest factor affecting billing is usage patterns. Our model benefits homes that are proactive with load shifting and utilizing their usage effectively. Often, what you'll see varying in providers is the daily cost vs rates. Some providers, Contact in this case, have higher daily costs, so they can offset and offer lower kWh rates. This generally benefits homes using a lot of power since a higher daily cost allows for cheaper rates per kWh, which works out cheaper for the quantity of power used. If you are a home with low usage, then lower daily but higher rates since less power is used overall per kWh would add up less.
Our Hour of Power is designed to help you save. You can definitely choose a 60-minute off-peak time slot that fits your schedule, and we use your smart meter to track it! You can change your Hour of Power anytime via our app or online portal. (Look for the ‘POWER’ section and the pencil icon.) The last time entered before midnight is the time selected for free power each day. Off-peak hours are available between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
