One basket was fine and the flowers…
One basket was fine and the flowers were ok. Some had broken off which is to be expected in transit. It is very pretty and thriving.
However the other was awful. The plants were broken off by the stems and this left the basket with a big gap in the middle with no foliage or flowers. Lots of flower heads were broken off-farm more than the other basket.
The packaging was very tight over the baskets and I think this is maybe why there was so much damage. It was not due to delivery handling. The bad basket was so tightly packed that we had to cut the outer box, then the packaging to get it out. It is taking a long time to fill out and looks very spindly compared to the other.
A real shame but I had to keep them as we had visitors coming and wanted baskets up ready. I think more care needs to be taken with putting plants into the outer boxes. It’s sad to see beautiful flowers killed like this.

could easily have been so much better
turned up squashed into a box that was too small with no space for airflow .... accept that baking in a couriers van is not Gardening Direct's problem .... emailed and received a nonsense AI response.
A further response which may or may not have been AI offered refund or replacement. I refused either & suggested that they might like to surprise me - they haven't, but have acknowledged that packaging in my case was an issue but didn't give any indication of an intention to improve or review it.

Out of 8 baskets recd 2 all plants were…
Out of 8 baskets recd 2 all plants were wilted and have now collapsed and died in the other six one verity of plant has also collapsed.
I have checked one basket for grubs but no sign, I have therefore used some of the compost to pot up agapanthus as a test to check for contamination
Compost was moist on arrival.

Poor plants arrived looking rather sorry for themselves as they were fully grown and rather battered. I delayed this review to await recovery. They have all recovered and are looking happy now. Well done packaging department and Yodel (or whatever they call themselves now).

Gardening Direct give a very good service. I have been using them for years. A couple of problems this year is the delivery. The plants were left in the the sun all day as I did not know they were there, the plants were not healthy and struggled. I did not contact Gardening Direct about this problem.
Another problem, the plants were not packed well and some snapped. I was fully compensated with a written apology.

the flower plants arrived almost dead, they had been tipped from their container and were a complete disaster, I have informed your Staff who told me to try and plant them to see if they could survive, I am not taking the trouble to plant dead plants in containers
