We have been a few times before and it has just been ok,
After yesterdays bad experience it will definitely be our last time,
We started off with four coffees had to ask for spoons and sugar, no problem said the waitress, we never saw her again
We had to ask another table for there sugar still no spoons had to use a knife to stir our coffee
We then ordered four snacks, two arrived we waited for the other two but didn’t arrive we waited ten minutes and had to chase up the other two that took on other ten minutes
One order was a chicken and chorizo toasty but there was no chicken on the toasty just chorizo and that was like dry leather so had to wait it to get that sorted
The chips were like fried toe nail clippings and cold
So we complained and requested a fresh replacement
They arrived but were exactly the same just a bit warmer couldn’t eat them.
Our friends coronation chicken sandwich nearly blew her head off, she had to request a glass of water.
So just to sum it up poor service very poor food
We made our views known to the waiter in return we just got a smile
My opinion now is as long as they are making money no one really cared, complaint’s seemed to be the norm and have no intention to change
Horrible service, spoiled meat, no refund or replacement
Horrible service, delivery company didn’t ring the doorbell and dumped the box by the drain at the side of the house.
The meat was ruined, the box was soaking wet.
I called to ask for a replacement as a goodwill gesture and was refused.
We will never use this company again and I will let everyone know that we have had a terrible experience with a useless customer service follow up.

Ridiculously slow small chips!
Second time in two weeks wanted a quick Portion of small chips for a teenager and both times took 15 minutes. Just don’t understand why they aren’t looking through easy orders while wait for the bigger items to cook ??

Have using greendale cafe and shop for many years and couldn’t fault either, food was always perfect ,
BUT
unfortunately since the expansion of the smaller cafe to a much larger restaurant the kitchen staff also have changed and the experience is : The service is generally good but the food has suffered.
It’s not anywhere near as good as before.
It’s a shame it’s turning the way it is especially as the carter family have worked so hard in making it a success.
Please sort it and make it as great as it used to be
Dreadful fish and chips
Dreadful fish and chips. We've had them from here in the past and thoroughly enjoyed them but batter was awful and chips must have been the end of lunchtime leftovers. Never again.
Their juice is OFF.
We bought a variety of items for our first purchase from this business. Primarily orange juice , advertised as freshly squeezed. We received 6 glass bottles of juice. On opening the first we were met with a strong rubbery smell , very unpleasant , on inspecting the bottles there was black sediment in the juice. On tasting , we had to spit the juice out. Four of the six bottles were the same, two were still smelling of rubber but not so much. We rang and spoke to Helen . This lady did not want to listen , did not want the juice back , issued ( eventually ) a voucher for the 4 juices not the whole number. I was insistently told that that there was nothing wrong with their machine , I was the first complainant , there couldn’t possibly be anything wrong. We emailed photos of the black sediment , I wrote an email in complaint and today received an equally unhelpful phone call from their supervisor. As these juices were for a disabled vulnerable person , do not buy from them. JUICE OFF.
Looking at previous reviews I’m not surprised that we have received the customer service , if you can call it that , that we have. They should be ashamed.

We booked a family get together for 9 people when we arrived was told kitchen closed only take away available but we could eat in, took 55 minutes to be served to us in takeaway boxes. Jumbo sausages were 2 small burnt sausages. Chips over cooked and soggy we complain about wait time as other people were being served before us. Didn’t complain about food as we were so hungry. Very very disappointed worse food and service we have ever had there, won’t be coming back in a hurry.

Terrible customer service rude shrill person manager not interested .I won’t use this dreadful company again took a day off to have Christmas food delivered not being delivered being delivered tomorrow when I am at work so have had to cancel no remorse regarding shoddy poor service This company have had my money for weeks now I have to wait 3-5 days for a refund . An uter shambles of a service go to Dart farm we’re they now how to speak to customers no polite people available at Greendale shocking I seeI am not the only one to write this kind of review
Poor Customer Service - I think may be Porkie Pies
An order placed on the 6th of December for delivery on the 19th of December was cancelled by Greendale due to Xmas parcel collection restrictions by DPD from the 19th of December. Based on the information provided my order should not have been affected as it should have been delivered on the 19th and not collected from their warehouse.
I contacted Greendale and requested an earlier delivery slot but was told they could not do that. However, delivery slots were still available for the 15th band 16th of December when checked online today.
Not impressed, very poor customer service. Interesting to note that my other supplier also uses DPD and is not placing any restrictions on deliveries. I guess they will be getting all my orders in the future.
Update - Greendale recalled their original email with details of the alleged delivery restrictions from DPD. However, copies have been made and I also forwarded the original email to another email address, so I still have the full details. I think that just about sums it up.
This is the content of their email:-
Good afternoon,
DPD have contacted us this morning to inform us that they are experiencing an unprecedented demand for their services caused by the recent Royal Mail strikes, therefore they are currently unable to fulfil their contract with us for collections and deliveries. This means that unfortunately, we will be unable to deliver your parcel next week as planned. This situation is completely out of our control, and we are incredibly upset and frustrated that we must do this to our loyal customers.
We know that this is extremely disappointing, and we appreciate that this will have an impact on your Christmas plans. We ourselves have only found out this morning via email and have been in contact with DPD to try and resolve the issue but unfortunately, they have made their final decision.
We can either refund and cancel your order or, you can collect it from our store on your original delivery date if it is possible for you to get to us. If you would like to collect from us, please contact us by calling 01395 232836 by Wednesday 14th December at 4pm. If we do not hear from you by this time, we will issue an automatic refund.
Please know that this is not something we want to do, and we are sending our sincerest apologies for this situation.

Crabs are kept in horrendous conditions. Crammed into tanks, stacked on top of each other. Miserable situation for sentient beings. You wouldn't cram lambs or pigs into pens like that. Just because you can't hear them doesn't mean they are not suffering. Aside from the cruelty to the crabs what message are you giving children about the humane treatment of living things.

The sausages were as described, Pork, Tomato & Basil, but with full flavours & textures of all the ingredients, making them cook and taste perfect.

Definetly not fresh
My wife took me there for breakfast today and i order my favourite which is smoked salmon with poached eggs on toast, the eggs and the toast was fine but the salmon was absolutely disgusting, it was white, very sweet and mushy, i could almost swear it came out of a tin so icalled the waitress over and she said it was fresh from the fridge (lol), for a place who claim to catch their own fish is appaling, never again.

I asked the deli assistant a question and noticed she was busy chewing some food. She started to talk back to me and food debris shot from her mouth over the deli food. Surely staff should not be eating while serving and talking to customers! Ewwwww!
I tried to contact Greendale but no answer to my phone calls so here I am.
Also the man next to her serving had a very dirty apron on. No pride in appearance.
We also noticed that a tub of roses with an extortionate price tag of £10.95!! Seriously if you want a tub of chocolate head elsewhere.

I have been purchasing from here for…
I have been purchasing from here for the last year nearly and my last 2 order was dissatisfied. Our dog ended up with more of the diced beef than us because of all the fat and tubes, bacon has shrunk to the extreme and was underweight by 100g also the sausages have shrunk. I wish I could post pictures as seriously considering going elsewhere now.

Bitterly disappointed with our meal this evening.
Waited 15 mins for our order to be taken. Starters brought out fairly quickly but I was taken aback when the waiter said to let THEM know when we were ready for our mains. Which we had to do as no member of staff approached our table after we had finished our starters.
Main dishes arrived, eventually, but were only lukewarm.
It was so cold in the restaurant I had eat with my coat on!
What a complete waste of money and an awful dining experience.
Appalling click and collect seafood experience
Web order reference WEB67481 I ordered on 8th September a selection of items from the fish counter for a family BBQ on the 10th I was impressed by the slick website and decided on click and collect so I could pick up the order on the way.
Received my email on the morning of the 10th informing me that the order was complete and ready for collection. I was in the email directed to the tills to collect my order which as a regular customer I thought was odd as I don't recall seeing any area behind the tills for storing click and collect orders in the past .
I arrived at 1.30pm the till queue was big and after queuing I got to the till to be met by a blank looking face when I explained I was picking up my order . The staff member had no idea about click and collect and after a few minutes another member of staff had to assist, they were gone for 3 to 4 minutes returning with a huge box . It was a hot day and I didn’t open the box as I had an hour drive and didn’t want the heat to get at the chilled contents .
Upon arrival at the BBQ I opened the box and immediately realised the order was not complete in fact only part of the order was in the bottom of the huge box.
I immediately looked at the printed delivery note which incidentally had the box checked to provide alternatives if stock was low. All I could see was blue biro crosses on the missing items with a staff signature. There were no alternatives provided and I hadn’t been refunded for the missing items . I immediately got on the phone and spoke to a very polite staff member who couldn’t assist as the relevant department were not back until Monday and had gone home.
I requested a refund which the member of staff said she could do , shortly after she informed me that this also could not be done until Monday … I am not expecting a refund without chasing so will update this post.
I feel totally let down I had to go and find a supermarket to replace the missing items , if I had been given alternatives it wouldn’t have been so bad , if I had been told items were missing upon collection I could have selected further items from the fish counter, if I had been refunded it would have been nice .
Not impressed and waiting for a response on Monday when refund has been sorted as I was told by the member of staff “ You will be called on Monday when it has been sorted out “ If Greendale are reading this if I can be called on the mobile number on my account not the number provided on Saturday as this was the landline number of my family where the BBQ was

Take Away Fish and Chips were awful... I was looking forward to them , however not sure what the chips were cooked in but tasted like a very stale oil .
very disappointing and we threw them away...a complete waste of money, and would not bother with a take away from their again.

£36 for 4 cod and chips absolutely disgusting chips old and reheated couldn’t eat them batter not properly cooked. Never again
Don’t waste your time.…
Turned up as couldn’t book as no one answered the phone, was ignored by 3 members of staff as they were stood talking, eventually one acknowledged us and mumbled that we had to sit outside with a 2 yr old when there were 10 tables free inside the restaurant. No reserved signs on the tables. We were offered blankets if we were cold, which were thin and cheap.
Poor service and treatment. Not what we expect from the prices charged!!!!
