Have hired car at Green motion in…

Have hired car at Green motion in Montenegro couple of days ego.
The car was in a bad condition, had 146.000 km and numerous scratches and damages, which we all documented. After returning the car the inspector sed us to the office to sign the final protocol.
At the office the other employee at the counter presented to us an unclear picture which should show a of scratch on a windshield which was apparently taken during the handover inspection (but was not communicated or shown to us at the spot).
At this picture:
- ware no number plate, which would identify the car.
- car was located next to a wall, although the handover of the and the inspection (where the picture was apparently taken) took place in the middle of a parking lot with no walls or buildings just a minute ego.
The actual car was not any more available for an over check (just after two minutes after return)!
We have not signed the Return Form. Nevertheless the company charge € 969,21 from my credit card.
We have been clearly scammed. Clearly stay away from this company!

SCAM- DO NOT RENT FROM HERE

This place is 100% a scam. When we rented our car through them, they gave us paperwork of all of the dents and scratches. We returned the car a day early, had 2 attendants review our car that day and say it was in perfect condition and full of gas, and then I was hit with a $2k damages charge when I returned home. With the email about the damages and charges, they sent pictures of a busted windshield and all of these dents that I think we would’ve noticed when we returned the car or at least had an attendant point out and tell us we’d be charged for! This company is a SCAM, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Ended up paying almost double with imposed insurance and hidden fees. We brought our insurance waiver under their name and they refused to accept it. They also force you to pay the daily toll fee. You have other options with Sun Pass. I used to work for a car rental company and what this people twist things. They abuse because once you are there where are you gonna go? No other options nearby, you are tired, you have luggage and you want to start you vacation. The car had dents in many areas, dirty, and only 1/4 gas tank. Why do they charge the insurance if cars are scratched and dented all around? Isn't it supposed to keep the car in good condition? Best go with an airport location if you don't like what you hear from one counter move to the next.

RUN!!

RUN!!! DO NOT USE GREEN MOTION!! They ran $1,600 charge for a SCRATCH that was not there when I dropped the car off! I disputed with them they said TOO BAD- we can do it when we want! They had the car 2.5 days after the car was dropped off, until the "scratch" showed up....they likely used old fake photos for the car.

Horrible Example of Upselling

Green Motion refused to accept perfectly valid insurance through AAA, one of the oldest and most respected car insurance companies. Of course, this was only to upsell me for an additional $50.00 per day for their insurance. Every other car rental agency in the country will accept AAA insurance.

Customers intending to self-insure our vehicles are required to produce sufficient proof of auto insurance, to include comprehensive and collision deductibles.
If opting to self-insure, you must carry a full coverage policy, to include both physical damage and liability.
Not all insurance companies are accepted – please contact reservations@greenmotion.com in advance to enquire if your policy / coverage will be accepted.
If opting to utilise credit card CDW, please note liability is not covered by credit cards, and the guest must purchase 3rd party liability coverage from the rental counter.
Insurance verification must be presented in the form of documentation (declaration page of policy), email or via the insurance company’s mobile application only.
If proof of insurance cannot be provided, clients will be able to purchase insurance at the counter.

Beware of Green Motion

Beware of Green Motion — a Scam Operation

They take your credit card details upfront, but once you return the car, they debit additional money from your account without informing you. When you ask for explanations, they simply do not respond. The customer service is extremely poor and unhelpful.

I am still chasing the refund of money they wrongfully charged after my rental period had ended.

Despite escalating the issue to the CEO level, nothing has been resolved. Unfortunately, it feels like everyone in the company — from top management to front-line staff — is involved in this fraudulent practice.

I HAVE READ MANY ARTICLES ON INTERNET REGARDIG GREEN MOTION. THERE ARE SO MANY users who complain that they have been charged exccessivley for the damages.For example If for damage that should have been cost 50USD, they would charge you something around 500USD which is HUGE !!

My strong advice: DONOT RENT cars from Green Motion to prevent falling victim to these scams.

Horrible experience with Green Motion…

Horrible experience with Green Motion at Fort Lauderdale airport, I would not give even 0 !!!. first of all, location of the office… 2 shuttles, the second one you will have to wait about 30 min.. and then if you refuse to take their insurance they will do everything that you will eventually PAY for their insurance, after hours with my insurance agent, and Green Motion representative who claimed himself as a manager and who could not clearly explain on English what is wrong with my insurance , I had to come back to airport and rented with another rental car company within 5 minutes!!!!! Of course with Green motion my reservation was non refundable. I am very disappointed with this experience, worst rental company ever!

I made a reservation a week ago and…

I made a reservation a week ago and when I arrived the day of the reservation, the lady at the desk told me they don’t have the vehicle. They try and put me in a vehicle for 5 passenger, when I requested a 10 passenger. I was told there nothing they can do sorry, but charge my cc the entire rental and won’t refund for another 7 to 10 business days.

I wish I could give a zero

I wish I could give a zero! I rented at Fort Lauderdale Airport. That airport has a building for car rentals. I was told, by a third party they were airport based! NOPE, I had to take a shuttle to the rental terminal and then wait - with multiple phone calls for them to pick me up!

At the agency I was informed it was an extra $115 for 3 days due to my age! Interestingly their webpage says $10 per day AND more interestingly is I have rented in both the US and overseas and my age never had a surcharge!

I had paid for a collision damage waiver. They wanted me to spend $140 for personal liability! When I said I have it on my personal policy, they demanded access to that.

The straw that broke the camel’s back, was they refused to rent because I refused to sign a blank contract. ( vehicle mileage and amount of fuel) Inasmuch as I was renting with a limited mileage allowance, accuracy, very important.

The reality, they beat me with their refusal to my telling them to forget it! Of course, no refund was offered and I need to chase that,

I wouldn't even give them a star

I wouldn't even give them a star. Rented a SUV in Orlando. Of course they didn't have one even though that's what we reserved and paid for so we ended up with a van. They charged a $500 deposit. Ive used all they major car rentals and usually I'm charged $200-$250. Returned the van Monday morning. Called after 5 days about the deposit hold on my credit card as from my experience with all the major rental brands its off in 2 maybe 3 days at most. (I know they say 3-5 days) Called Green Motion and they told us 10-20 days. Like you have to be kidding me. You got the van back and I'm sure you rented it out. It shouldn't take 10-20 days to release the hold on my credit card. Absolutely absurd. I would sooner walk then ever rent there again. What ever amount of money you think you might save by using them save yourself the money and aggravation and don't rent. So "Motion" might be apart of their name...but its clearly "lack of motion"

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges.

Please visit https://greenmotion.com/terms and select the country you rented from to see the deposit information which will advise the general timeframe that you can expect for the release of the deposit.

Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you.

Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you.

If this amount is still not available in your account after 30 days from the last day of your rental, please contact us at escalation@cs.greenmotion.com.

NEGATIVE NEGATIVE RATING RUN AWAY SCAMMERS

This company doesn’t deserve even one star — if negative ratings were possible, Green Motion would earn them.

My experience with their agency in Rabat, Morocco Hassan location, was nothing short of appalling. I reserved a vehicle online, but instead of receiving professional service, I was met with deception and predatory practices.

First, they demanded a $2,000 deposit, an outrageous and unjustified amount — far beyond industry standards. To make matters worse, they offered to reduce the deposit only if I paid an additional fee — a scheme that was never disclosed in the rental agreement and feels like a deliberate scam.

Second, they refused to accept my credit card’s rental car insurance, which is recognized and honored by rental agencies worldwide. This is a clear attempt to force customers into purchasing their own overpriced insurance.

Third, I was told I could not take the car outside of Rabat — a restriction that was never communicated during the booking process. Additionally, their supposed mileage limit was not mentioned in the contract or confirmation email. I even provided a screenshot as proof, yet it was dismissed.

To make matters worse, the staff were incredibly rude, unprofessional, and unwelcoming. I felt uncomfortable and even unsafe dealing with them.

This experience is not an isolated case. There are numerous complaints about Green Motion's agencies in both Rabat and Casablanca, with customers reporting scams, hidden fees, and mistreatment.

I strongly advise against renting from Green Motion. Their practices are deceptive, their agents disrespectful, and their service utterly unacceptable.

Stay Away From Green motion fraud???

for a 2 days car rental in fortlauderdale they refused my Mc World Elite car insurance and charge me a extra. $80.00 for insurance a $ 150.00 deposit. and i was told by adam we dont any more good suv available

They overcharged me double the contract price

I would like to give them negative 5 stars but I can't.

They tried to overcharge me what was quoted by Priceline when I initially picked up the car. After pointing that out, they adjusted the amount back down to the agreed price.

When I dropped the car off I was 1 1/2 hours late and they charged me $153 extra, more than double what they charged me for 5 days rental. I am now fighting this charge on my credit card. They would only respond by email and will not take any telephone calls. They said that the late charge is based on market rate. I have never been treated so badly.
Run the other way - do not rent from Green Motion!!

Rental BeWare!!!!

This place is the worst place to rent from. We rented a car and needed to show them some scratches as the sun would not allow up to take a good picture. They told us not to worry about it - they don't charge for scratches. Then after finally our bill they told us our receipt would be emailed to us. Two days later we had not gotten a copy of our receipt. I called and it took another two days before we actually got our receipt. Then upon return of the vehicle, we were told to leave it in the return area and someone would pick it up and check it out. By the time we were leaving, the car was still sitting there. Five minutes after departure, my husband remembered that he left his handicap sticker in the windshield visor. He immediately called and of course got the run-around. We could not call the actual location, but only talked to their main number. Each time, they said someone would get back to us. If they really clean the cars themselves, there is no way the handicap sticker would have not been recovered. We just wanted them to mail it to us (at our expense). This took place on 3/22/2025 and to-date no one from this company has called us back. Poor customer service and I will pay the extra to get a reputable company to rent from in the future. Rental Be Ware!!!

Never again in Orlando

They charged all these extra fees and i had to buy their insurance which was never stated to me and i called three times! Their policy they use is not fully on Priceline and i will NEVER rent from them again

Everything was fine until I got hit with over $200 in hidden fees and the company refused to discuss them with me. I'll never use them again. I don't support "buyer beware" type companies.

This company is in all definitions a…scam

This company is in all definitions a FRAUD! They misrepresent the booking online and try to charge you for all these extras when you finally arrive at another misrepresented location. If you don’t pay there fee’s, you can’t take the car you already paid for. I’m interested in starting a class action lawsuit. There are thousands of people like me that have had to deal with these people. Let’s all join together and never let this happen to another person.
