Fraud/scam service

They force you to pay $60 a day for insurance even if you have insurance. Even if you meet their insurance limits they make you a $2,000 deposit. I didn’t feel comfortable paying a $2,000 deposit to a company that looks like the intentionally scam people. God knows if you’d get those $2,000 back. Do not do business with this company

PLEASE AVOID!!!! SCAMMERS!!!!
I am a 52-year-old female traveller who rents cars in every country where I go. I have never, NEVER had such a bad experience. It's awful!!!
I booked a car in November'24 at Tallinn Airport (Estonia). The car booked was a VW Golf (or similar), a small and powerful vehicle. The car offered was a Dacia Jogger, a long and bulky vehicle. I had no choice but to agree with bright white Dacia. But this was not the biggest problem. The problems are:
1. The agent on the desk was extremely rude (in addition to English, I speak Estonian and Russian fluently - both languages are equally used in Estonia). She treated me as if I was not a customer but a beggar. She used no professional language; it's tough to express in English. But she was very rude.
2. The second and most significant concern is that the agent said I must return the vehicle in the same condition I took (bright white car). I understand that this sounds ok, if you don't know the details. I was supposed to WASH AND HOOVER the vehicle before returning it to the agency! Estonian roads are very dirty all year round, but when it rains constantly in November, it's very challenging to keep the bright white vehicle clean. I am supposed to return my car at 10 am, so technically, I am supposed to wash and hoover the car (no idea where) at least an hour before. When I expressed my wonder about the strange rule of returning the car to the agent, she said that if I am not happy with this rule, I should cancel the booking and not rent the vehicle in an insulting way. When I asked what would happen if I returned the car and it was not washed, she said that there would be penalties and the cost of valeting charged. So I just walked away and rented the car from another agency which was 100 meters away. Just to let you know, no one heard about this rule in Estonia. At least another agency. I returned the car with the same level of petrol, reasonably clean (considering the weather conditions), and no one forced me to pay €50 for car valeting service before return. Not recommended at all. Avoid.

They charge me twice because according…

They charge me twice because according to them I failed to pick up my vehicle which was a lie even after they sent me a receipt. I had to file a dispute charge with my bank. When you call the number listed they NEVER connect to. Person it goes to voicemail and no one calls you back. Such a rip off place but, they aren’t getting away with this.

Never rent from this company. -100/10 do not ever reccomend.

I went through expedia to rent a car through this company. I received a CONFIRMATION email the week before my pick up to provide everything for a smooth experience. (I rent with enterprise normally and this is completely routine)

I showed up to the location, to be told the company had closed and I could not be helped. I was STRANDED in fort lauderdale without a vehicle that I had paid for.

I went through expedia for a resolution, and Green Motion City provided FALSE information to Expedia to have them reject my refund. While also sending me an email directly telling me I had to work with the 3rd party and that they could not help me at all.

I luckily called Expedia customer service and escalated the call, and the management team found the information provided by Green motion to be false. Expedia gave me my refund immediately after.

Faulty Damage Report!

First the Edinburgh location/bus changed location and the facility is sketchy. I received an email the night before to load up my license and passport, which saved time. But then they want proof of insurance that I have, I have no way to give it to them — leading to the need to buy 210 pounds worth of insurance or they would not release the car. I received a car then they took it back and gave us a giant 9 passenger van saying they had nothing else. When returning it, they found some kind of rusty dent in the frame underneath the car and said we must have done it. We certainly didn’t drive over anything that would cause this and they hit my card for another $550. I didn’t sign the paperwork saying I caused the damage. Ridiculous. I will try to dispute the charges. What an awful experience! Hope no one uses them…

I would give this place a zero if I…

I would give this place a zero if I could. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE! First of all, the office is located offsite from the airport in some sketch little building. You have to wait for the shuttle which takes a long time. I called the 800 # after already waiting 20 min and was told the shuttle would arrive 5-10 min. It was longer. The driver speaks zero English and I couldn’t remember the Spanish word for headlight. So we drove in the dark without headlights. We got dropped at another nearby sketch rental place and had to walk over. They try to tell you that you have to have super high insurance but even if you do, they’ll say there’s something insufficient. If I’m willing to sign off that I accept the liability, that should be the end of discussion. They guy, who by the way, is the one that answers the 800 #, lied and said he couldn’t even put it in the system with the insurance I have and that I would have to buy the insurance, which is more than the rental price. When I refused (I have the required insurance amount), the guy told me that my reservation had been cancelled since our flight was over an hour late and that he couldn’t rent me a car without paying from another reservation. What?! Just save yourself the hassle and your money and totally avoid this company.

These guys are thieves

These guys are thieves. They found a small and insignificant scratch on the wheel and charged me GBP250.

Furthermore, I took my daughter to the airport and was unaware I had to pay to go through the gates. It's not intutitive at all. No boom gate etc.

So, GM got the fine (which I duly paid) but then they charged me a GBP 68 admin fee to process the aprox $30 fine. Total crooks. I dont' know how they sleep at night.

I am so glad that I didn't give them any money!

I am just so happy that I booked this reservation as a pay at the counter and did not give them any of my money! Landed in Tampa, and went to where the directions told me to go. Waiting on a shuttle. There was already a couple there that said they have been waiting close to an hour for the shuttle. They called teh customer service number - if that is what yo uant to call it - she was going round and round with them on the phone, and she point blank asked, shold I go thru another compnay, and they said yes. So they left and went back to the reputable car companies at the airport, and told me good luck.

So I waited in the 95 degree heat, for about another 10 minutes, and left also and went to one of the reputalbe car companies in the airport. Was dinished in 10 minutes, no exhorbent insurance fees, toll passes, mileage limits or anyhting.

Then at 7:30 I get a text from Alejandro wanting to confirm my rental, I was just like no, I already have a car and don't need your company, do better business. So happy I didn't pre-pay with them, I just had a gut feeling that $70.00 was too good to be true for a rental, and it defnitely was. Avoid the headaches, the no shuttle showing up, all the extra fees and just rent from the airport. ****Do not give them any of your money****

Do not use this company

Do not use this company! They make you get additional car Insurance that you don’t need, even when you have full personal coverage on your own insurance! They put all of this in fine print that you don’t see or notice until it’s too late . They charge your account additional charges and hope that you won’t notice. Beware! I will never use this company again! And if it’s too late for you, make sure you check your receipts and check your bank account!

If opting to utilise credit card CDW, please note liability is not covered by credit cards, and the guest must purchase 3rd party liability coverage from the rental counter.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - UNRELIABLE!

I wish if I can give this company a zero rating. Our trip to Orlando was a disaster. Upon our arrival, we were told they overbooked and wanted to take us back to the airport. We had kids and luggage, we uber to our hotel instead. They were very rude too. When we got there they did not even ask for the reservation name or any information. The employees were chatting outside and we had to wait for them and soon as she entered, she told us no cars available. I would advise you, use Expedia to book, it is more reliable. We ended up using Advantage. It cost us way less than Green Motion.

put me into $7,000 debt

Literally put me into $7,000 debt and I budgeted a 2,000 car rental for 2 weeks. They said Scotland had no charging ports so the car I was going to use would not be a good choice. I ended up getting the only one in the lot, a 6 seater that was MUCH more expensive, and then there was a hairline scratch that I didn’t look for before hand (wouldn’t have noticed it anyways if I did) that was an extra 2k

They were so nice and helpful, but as I arrange how to get my credit score up from my 7k in debt, I can’t help but WISH I hadn’t gotten a rental here. It would have been cheaper to take a taxi everywhere.

For my people out there, don’t let them talk you into ANYTHING

Awful experience!!!! SCAMMER!!!!

Awful experience, please do not use this company! They scam you with liability insurance coverage charges, it’s ridiculous. Liability insurance is OPTIONAL not mandatory, they are liars! I have rented cars many times but this is the first company that decided to charge me for cleanup fees. They claim that the car is not in the same condition prior to renting, calling it a breach of contract. So, they charged hundreds of dollars on my credit card without sending me the actual invoice for it. They are thieves who take advantage of innocent people on their vacations. It’s obvious they have been running scam business for years and still getting away with it. I am disgusted and they make me sick to my stomach. I should have just cancelled the reservation when I walked into their office. The location being so far away from the airport and making you wait so long at the desk.. I should have known!!!

Rental Car was Disabled

Rental Car was Disabled by owner because Green Motion didn't pay the lease to owner. This happened 4 hours into our rental. Car was disabled and it would never start. We returned car keys to the Green Motion office in KRK airport, but they would not release responsibility for our car because they haven't seen it. To this day they still didn't pick up the car. Phone number doesn't work.
DO NOT rent here, it's a scam.

Do not rent here

Booked a car rental on Expedia and then when arrived even though we showed we had full covereage auto policies through Safeco and Nationwide (with documents) they said they did not take Safeco (even though it is Liberty Mutual and they accepted Liberty Mutual) and that what we had with Nationwide was not adequate and in order to continue on and make connections were required to purchase additional car insurance at the counter. They also told us we would receive credit for our personal auto policy and would only be charged an additional fee and then we were billed $107 additional on top of the Expedia booking just for additional insurance for 3 days even though we had two auto policies with full coverage insurance. On top of that the itemized receipt for the insurance was one amount and then they billed our credit card another amount with an additional $20 that is not itemized and said it was for taxes when taxes were itemized on the receipt. So double taxed? When we returned the car we observed another man arguing with the counter and going through the same thing and an additonal woman had just gone through it and refused and was taking a shuttle back to the airport to rent a car from someone else. They are clearly putting one thing online with Expedia and then gouging customers upon arrival when they are at their mercy if they have connections to meet. There is no transparancy and we did not have any problems like this when we rented from Easyrent in Tampa before. When we contacted them upon completing travel they said we signed so it stands and would do nothing. They also would not let us speak to a manager. Do not rent from this car rental business, they are scamming customers.

No car available despite reservation and confirmation

Reserved a car through booking.com, when we arrived and after we waited in an hour-long line, they did not have a car for us. Thank goodness we had not already paid based on the reviews.

Worst car rental company ever.

Worst car rental company ever.
We booked a car through Expedia from Los Angeles Airport. We also purchased car insurance through Expedia.

When we arrived on location they asked us to pay another 1100 $ for insurance and they told us that insurance we bough on Expedia is not something they recognise. They told us that their insurance is something we need to pay if we want get a car. There was also another additional requirement - they wanted our credit card and we had only debit card. They were very unpleasant all the time.

Since we already previously paid everything to Expedia we did not want to accept additional cost, they told us that we can cancel the booking without any cost.

After that we called Expedia and their customer support told us that they need to check with GreenMotion if GreenMotion is willing to return us our money. Few days later we got email from Expedia saying that GreenMotion is not going to return us our money.

So long story short, they took our money even though they did not give us the car. They also lied that they will return the money.
