I wish there is rating in minus, I would've given then -100. they are the worst stupid and scam in the history of car rental history. I came in, I went to pick up the car but guess what, they were closed and after spending 3 hours phoning back and forth, they asked me to come next day to pick up the car and when I went there they told me that the car is not available any more. Do you think this is the fun part, you are wrong, the suspense is yet to come, because when I ask them for another car, they said nop there is no car for you and when I ask for refund they said no refund policy so It's kind of you snooze you loose. I was so frustrated to the point I couldn't say anything to the customer support because I know they are just employee. So pleaaaaaase DO NOT rent any car from those people and their partner in Toronto the Wisecars

Horrible experience, even worse company

Wrote another review about a horrible experience with U-Save, was told to send info to Green Motion. Have help tickets opened with U-Save, sent info to Green Motion and neither side of their company, nor the independant franchisee will reach out to me with any real information or answers, their business practices keep getting worse by the day. I thought maybe I just made a mistake using the location I used but I’m starting to thing the entire organization from the top down is incompetent. Not really sure what else to say other than stay far far away from this company and all of it’s subsidiaries, none of them have a clue how to run a business.

CROOKS!!

They advertise a low price, and cheat you when you arrive, even though you have bought all the insurance. Absolutely unethical company in Tampa. DO NOT RENT!!

The company has overcharged us.

This company has overcharged us for car rental, amounting to $100 and another $157.66. They initially said that they would refund these amounts and made it clear that this isn't a reservation fee. Of course, they never refunded. When contacting them, aside from being almost fully unresponsive and no working number, they have ridiculously claimed that this fee was a smoker's fee, when I'm not a smoker and this fee was charged at the beginning of the reservation. They seem to have multiple reviews where the agents will make up charges and prices and overcharge customers without properly refunding, which is exactly what happened in my case. This business needs to respond, refund, and properly run their business without scamming customers.

Edit 6/28: In response to Green Motion, we have contacted them numerous times via email, most recently their Bulgarian office, who has not responded at all. This company may be responding to complaints like this but unwilling to properly resolve.

Edit 6/28 2: We appreciate the quick follow through and have updated within this contact information.

Edit 7/1: We trusted that your Bulgarian office refunded as promised and they did not. It is correct that this wasn’t brought to our attention until over the past 6 months. However, your team was very quick to defend the additional charge (charging a smoker’s fee to a non-smoker before the trip even began) and, no, the Bulgarian office didn’t even provide proper receipts for their charges. Your office should have full details on the charges rendered, but you do not. As others have said, this office seemed to have made up prices and would purposely overcharge customers, pocketing money that was not agreed to. Green Motion’s headquarters also takes no responsibility and blames it on their “franchises” who operate in any way they see fit. Extremely concerning.

Hidden charges

I booked a car with Green motion and they requested a deposit of $870 dollars and fees associated with the rental were almost 50% of the rental agreement. They also made up rules along the way, requested $40 for picking up a car 90 minutes earlier and a fee of 3% of the $870 dollars to be paid directly to them as I used Amex. They also implemented a mileage limit that came out of nowhere but I reluctantly agreed as I had no other reservation. I will now never use Green motion again and I hope my review will help fellow travelers not to experience anything similar.

Booked a car online to pick up in Miami…

Booked a car online to pick up in Miami airport via Expedia. The location is far away, took 30 min to wait for shuttle.
In the office waited 40 min having 2 customers ahead of mine. After spending all that time I found that Green Motion doesn't accept my insurance (via Costco) and I have to get their insurance which brings the rent cost too high. Declined. Asked for refund - got a lot of words why it is impossible to make it now. So I left and was charged full rent cost. Didn't even bother myself to call them after

Advice: read all terms ahead of booking. I usually do, but the information critical to me (about the use of personal insurance) was not on a surface. Found it later when I knew what to look for.
My failure, I accept it but I wish the service team treat customers better

Trust me, I have a very positive and optimistic outlook in life almost nothing fazes me till I had this experience, it will be worth reading till the very end. If I could I would give them a Zero stars.

Check out all the rating websites TripAdvisor, yelp, BBB, google, and all the rest, read the reviews, and then make your decision if you want to rent from them.

I rarely write a review, but my experience with the so-called car rental was absolutely DESPICABLE, and a shame on Orbitz for recommending them as a legit car rental.

I know that I should never rent from an off-airport car rental you should stick with the brand names, it may sound cheaper but it's going cost you much more in the long run.

1)They tell me it will be $184 for car insurance for the 2 days, I told them I paid it on Orbitz, and they told me that the insurance I paid online was just for the collision and we need full coverage on the car, so I told them my CC had car rental insurance. “sorry we don’t take CC insurance”. Then I saw another fellow "crying" to them about the $960 they were making him pay for insurance for his 6-day rental. He told them the same thing that he bought the insurance from Expedia, and then I heard the the "salesman" telling him that if he had 1 of the 5 insurances on his personal car they would honor it. I told my guy that I have Geico, he was taken aback and told me they only accept my insurance if it covers a minimum of $300,000. Ok finally I got that settled.

2)Then he tells me that they are putting a $2000 security deposit on my card, and it will be released in 15 days.

3)Next he tells me there is a $25 a day for the Sunpass (E-ZPass). I told him that I brought along my own E-ZPass. “sorry all our cars have our own pass, if you want you can wave it but if you go through the tolls you will be charged the tolls plus a $20 per toll fee” I waived it cos I knew the roads and how to avoid the tolls.
4)Then he tells me that there will be a $500 charge if I lose the key.
5)I got in the car and left and was just happy to leave that place this whole ordeal took almost an hour.

I have never had any of the above issues with any other car rental in the past and I rent cars on an average close to 20 times a year from most of the major brand rentals.

To my bad luck, I accidentally took the toll road that cost I think .66 cents

The car transmission was shaking the car almost every time it changed gear but I was afraid to call them cos they would tell me that I damaged the engine, so I kept on driving with a jerking car every so often. I decided I have write a review and let the world know what type of Schistters these people are.

When I got to the hotel I went online and saw all the terrible horror stories from most of their customers, some of them got me so upset as to how they can make people's vacation such a nightmare.

When I returned the car the guy behind the counter was much more polite than the other guys from the day before and I told him “Service was excellent and was really happy and by the way I went through the tolls by accident” he tells me if I give them a 5 star he will wave the tolls. He takes my phone and goes on to my google account and types in “Christian thank so much” and puts a 5 star.

I waited 2 weeks to write this review cos I was waiting for them to release the $2000 security deposit off of my card. I can not reiterate more by saying do not use them they are not here to service you at all, they are there just for the “hit and run customers” do not believe any of the 5-star ratings cos I'm sure they were coursed into rating it just like I was.
I know the low price ONLINE seems too good to be true, and that's because it is. The restrictions that they will impose on you are not worth the headache.

This is going to be their response:
"We’re sorry to see that you didn’t have a five-star experience at our Miami Rental location blah blah blah"

It really hurts me to write this but I'm doing this so you don't fall in the same trap we all did

Run away from this company

Run away from this company, they are thieves. They offer attractive prices online, but once you arrive at the counter, they will force you to take insurance for $300 or $400, otherwise you won't leave with the car. Additionally, they will ask for a security deposit of $2000 in order to scam you when you return the car. They will claim that you have damaged the car and take whatever amount they want.

Worst Rental Car Experience ever

Our flight was delayed and when we arrived they were closed. I called the next morning and the extremely rude woman who answers the phone picked up the phone yelling at someone in the back...then proceeds to tell me they had already canceled my rental when we didnt show the night before. (We did but the close at 9pm!) She tried to say we cant have our money back.
Once it was realized we booked through price she told us "call them for your money" and hung up on us.
I wish we could give zero Stars.
Unprofessional. Not even in the airport. You have to take a taxi or bus over to their office.
Inconvenience.
Rude!! Do not waste your time!

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. Would not return calls after multiple messages were left. Hidden fees from what was originally quoted. Would not work with customer to resolve issues/complaints. Cars are not good quality.

This is a horrible company to rent…

This is a horrible company to rent from. Don't let the cheap fool you. My rental cost was paid in full, until I showed up to pick up my rental. I was told I have to take the 3rd party insurance which is about the cost per day to rent the car and if I refuse and would like to use my own auto policy its a $2000 deposit, after I took the 3rd party insurance, I still had to pay $150. 00 deposit which I am still waiting to be credited back to me, 7 days after i return my rental. Beware if there's a minor ding, they will try to get you to pay for it. Whatever it takes for them to keep your deposit.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. WILL extort money from you in excess of what you already paid no matter what. Guy in line in front of me declines in surance but they don't accept his brain of insurance and he is then forced to purchase theirs. 300+ extra for his rental in excess of what he has already paid for. Me, 50 state street legal with progressive insurance... Doesn't have the 300k required to self insure. Skip this rental place. They will scam you of cash beyond what you already paid for.

SCAM ALERT!!!!

I sent my senior parents to Florida for their 50th anniversary for 2 weeks. My parents rented a car from Holiday Cars.com operating as Green Motion. Upon arrival on Sunday, March 24, 2024, they went to pick up their rental car where they were advised that they were required to pay for third-party insurance for $483.75. When my parents questioned this charge they were met with rude responses and attitudes from the employees, particular comments like if you don’t want to pay for it then you can’t rent the car. For two seniors, this amount is large to have to pay on top of the initial amount for the rental. They deserved an explanation as to why they were paying this amount. They did not deserve an attitude for questioning the fee. They required a car for their vacation so they ended up paying the fee.
When they got to their destination in Florida, we investigated further and noticed that at the top of their voucher were the words, 'Paid in Full.' Then on the second page, under 'Included in the price,' the first item stated, 'third party liability.' I immediately requested that the charge of $483.75 be refunded to their card and explained everything to their complaints department. The response I received from Green Motion was, “Suppliers will always offer you to purchase local services and/or insurances since this is a way of making extra income. You are not obliged to purchase any optional services and/or insurances.”
As a customer, this was not an “optional” service and/or insurance as the agent stated that if my parents didn’t pay the fee they would not be able to rent the car! Green Motion’s response to this was that they didn’t know what was actually said since they were not there.
Don’t be fooled by the initial low price of your rental as there will always be an additional charge upon pick up of the vehicle, leaving the customer in a vulnerable position and made to feel obligated to pay the extra fees not leaving them any other “option.”

In response to the reply from Green Motion received below:
The website for green motion that was noted in your reply below says "Internal Error," even after multiple attempts. I'm starting to wonder if ANYONE is able to get through on that website or is that just to make it look like they are doing something without doing anything at all for their customers???? Especially since every message to these reviews are identical with the exception of a few.
I did reach out to Green Motion for this issue prior to this review and, at the risk of repeating myself, their response was as follows:
“Suppliers will always offer you to purchase local services and/or insurances since this is a way of making extra income. You are not obliged to purchase any optional services and/or insurances.”

Single worse rental experience of my life

Horrible experience, shuttle was dirty, staff was plain and simple not serving people as they sat in front of a busy line of other frustrated people. There is no way I will be renting from you again

This is all on top of last second refusing to allow any insurance other than their own even when they explicitly state they cover car rentals in the US causing the car rental to cost us more than the flight and hotel combined. It's not a question of amount, I showed 3 insurance policies that each say they cover $2M in liability EACH for a base mustang. Complete scam and I would've never rented in the first place if instead of burying it in fine print on a piece of paper at the rental location they had just said that as I was booking

Edit: They're lying in the response. I reached out to them and the branch hasn't even bothered to answer me yet. As I said do not rent from here, you would be better off crawling everywhere

Edit 2: They refuse to do anything about it. They know what they’re doing and it’s all clearly by design to aggressively overcharge anyone who wants to rent from here. They’re hiding behind the fact that any individual location can print whatever they would like on a piece of paper to limit anything they want and you’ll only find out after you book a non-cancellable booking. The car rental costed me nearly double what my flight and hotel combined cost me if anyone is wondering just how badly they’ll scam you

Auto Insurance Requirements
Customers intending to self-insure our vehicles must produce sufficient proof of auto insurance, including comprehensive and collision coverage. If opting to self-insure, you must carry a full coverage policy (physical or electronic), to include both physical damage and liability.

Not all insurance companies are accepted – please contact the rental station in advance to enquire if your policy / coverage will be accepted.

If opting to utilize credit card CDW, please note liability is not covered by credit cards and the customer must purchase third party liability coverage from the rental counter.

Insurance verification must be presented in the form of documentation (declaration page of policy), email or via the insurance company’s mobile application only. If the insurance card/policy does not include the name of the renter, the declaration page of the policy showing the renter as covered must be provided, or the coverage will not be accepted.

If proof of insurance cannot be provided at the time of rental, customers may be required to purchase insurance – both collision and liability coverages – at the counter.

BEWARE...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I rented a car from Green Motion online, and purchased the insurance online as well. All was approved online, but when I arrived to pick up the car, they asked for my personal policy declaration document other wise I would have to purchase their insurance at $59 per day. I had the policy declartion I purchased with the rental, but apparently it had only $300 liability which was not adequate according to the cashier. I used my phone to access my personal ins.policy declaration document online and emailed it to the cashier. He then told my $75,000 liability was not enough, but since I was renting the car only for the day he would let it slide. Then he asked if I would like to purchase the Miami highway/tollway package. and when I declined, he informed me that Miami had more tollways than any other state and without this package there would be a hefty fine if they found I drove on any highway or tollway. I still declined and simply stayed off the highways. I did not see Miami as I had intended and felt very scammed, even though I didn't fall for their scams.

While I was waiting, I heard another woman ask for a refund since she could not produce her policy declarations and could not afford and addtl $59 per day, and they told her she need to get her refund from the site where she purchased the rental. They offer no refunds on site.

Renter beware

Renter beware: prices are cheap cos they will work to stick you with damage at end of rental. I rented thru Expedia and took the Expedia insurance. This seems to be like catnip as they will find a way to charge the external insurance knowing that the paperwork with drive u nuts and someone will pay regardless. When u pickup make sure u get your car in good bright light and do a video walk around of everything inside and outside. If dark/rainy/dirty-car do not accept it without checking every panel for any ding. Anything will set u back over USD800. If u insure thru external company as I did with Expedia and AIG then it is just soul destroying hassle to get the money back. Pay an extra 100 for the big boys and their insurance as you’ll end up spending this anyway.

This is terrible and I haven’t even rented from yall we had booked our reservation but upon reading that reviews were politely cancelled thank you for your reviews we knew it was sketchy
