I pay a monthly fee for benefit coverage with Greenshield. I am a diabetic and have been for 10 years. My blood tests have progressively gotten higher over the years and I have been treating it with a Metformin Prescription from my doctor. She has tried to bring the count down with doubling the Metformin without success. So she prescribed Mounjaro for me. I have submitted my doctors forms to Greenshield 5 times and am still not approved. I have been paying out of my pocket because this medication is finally working to take me down from 7.3 to 5.2 successfully! Meanwhile I pay Greenshield obviously for nothing! I will be looking at other benefit companies for better coverage of my healthcare, and a company that doesn’t make you wait for a month for approval! How unprofessional this company is!!!

Worst therapy ever. Before i begin this was my first therapy experience ever and let me tell you how bad the experience was. Ive had 5 sessions with my therapist which was a great therapist, but almost every single time i would try to access my appointment it wouldnt work, or the other party was having issues joining. We had to use a completely different Platform just so that we could continue doing therapy but now i cant even do that because she doesnt get paid for that and now i dont have any time left for therapy that was taken from me even though the sessions either didnt happen or were completed on a different platform. Im so over trying ti use this for therapy and put me off from the idea of using it again. Terrible

Very disappointed with Greenshield, my union recently changed to greenshield for health benefits and pension plan. Painfully slow on getting reimbursed for claims and info on my pension, their website is no help at all as well as the help line. My union was with DA Townley and they are so much better than Greenshield. I would strongly recommend avoiding Greenshield for anything related to health benefits or pension plan management.

The far worst company to deal with. I would NOT recommend them to my worst enemy. The incompetence is unbelievable. One person says this , the other, that. You've been warned!

For the money they charge horrid and get involved with my health care dictate to physicians which medications and demand reduction in opioid management reduction completely in line with government guide lines. Refuse to pay unless pain specialist Dr. Complys and burdens Dr's office with paperwork. Need to be sued.they won't even the $ 6.11 cents gov. won't cover demand forms be filled out by specialists. Top line blue cross blue shield in usa that covers everything very small Co pay cheaper than greenshiel Canada they don't cover physical therapy or any important items very well..people you don't need to take them or their rip off services get blue cross blue shield get union leaders employers to drop green shield when your older you will be sorry you didn't.youre not getting whst you overpay for 6 other insurance companies are cheaper 10 times better. Benefits have been in place since May 1 and over 2 months later, they are not able to provide us with a summary of benefits or booklet. We have no idea what our coverage is. Had 1 massage ($130) and they only paid out $20 and told me we had maxed out our massage benefits. Yet they won't tell us what the maximum is...certainly it can't be $20. Horrible service, horrible app, horrible phone system. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Worst insurance company, hidden charges plus they double charged a month in advance because they knew your eventually going to cancel with them so they grab a month in advance expecting your going to close your account.
Don’t use GreenShield it’s a scam.
So many papers to read it’s impossible to understand plus the sales people are also false truth salespeople.

Greenshield in error wrote me to tell me that my coverage had been reduced and certain medications were no longer covered. Green shield continually asks from your Doctors why you are on this medication without consulting you on your health condition. They are the abosolute worst insurance company to deal with,

Do not use green shield almost always your script will be denied and you will have to fight to get coverage worst coverage in 20 years

Very frustrating! I’ve tried to access online coaching only to be met with tech glitches at each turn. The first was booking an intake appointment: their calendar system was ineffective. That had to be sorted out with multiple phone calls. The second was meeting with a coach: their notification system sent each of us different time zones so the appointment didn’t happen. Terrible customer service.

Awful company. They needed proof of common law between me and my spouse but didn't tell us so I wasn't covered. Fixed that problem.
They spelled my name wrong this time, okay, easy. Fixed that problem too.
Went to the dentist to find out they're saying I have other insurance. I haven't had any other insurance since I lived with my parents.
This has all been on all forms my fiance and I filled out originally.
Best case scenario we only have to pay a couple hundred out of pocket now. Worst case scenario we're on the hook for thousands of dollars because this company can't communicate or get their sh*t together

What a horrible company.
Greenshield never accepts the full amount I am charged by a national pharmacy claiming they charge over the average price in my area.

Well I asked Greenshield to show me where I can get my drugs at the price they claim I should pay for it, but they cannot.

I have been with Desjardins, Canada Life, Sunlife and BlueCross. Never has a health insurance provider ever rejected claims except Greenshield.

Absolutely the worst health care provider around.

Very disappointed in this insurance company. And forced to pay any to this because my employer is a part of it. So I have no choice but to give 300 bucks a month for this company. Only to be denied coverage of my prescription safety glasses which have been covered by any other benefits company I've used. Also we're supposed to have coverage for counselors. After spending $200 for a counselor for my son we were denied for that as well.

I am extremely dissatisfied with Green Shield. Every time I call, I have to wait on hold for over an hour, only to receive unhelpful responses. I have emailed them multiple times, explaining that I urgently need this medication and asking for a prompt response, but it has been nearly a month, and I haven’t received any reply. I don’t understand why they show no concern for their customers.

My claim for drug coverage was denied because it was prescribed by a dermatologist. When I called and asked for an explanation the customer service representative claimed that "dermatologists aren't even covered by OHIP" Incorrectly assuming that dermatologists only do cosmetic procedures, and nothing you go to a dermatologist for is medically necessary. To be clear this is demonstrably false and OHIP has covered plenty of medically necessary dermatology visits in the past for me. I would love to believe that the person responsible for the claim decision has a better understanding of medicine but really, there is only evidence to the contrary.

Greenshield, by far the worst company I've ever had to deal with, maybe besides Telus. I waited on hold for an hour only to be rudely treated and snubbed by some Representative that seemed like he had so many better things to do than help me out. I would give you zero Stars if I could because I never actually got anything accomplished. You guys suck the big one.. if I was an employee I would be embarrassed and ashamed of collecting a paycheck from greenshield. Their phone system is an absolute joke. I was on hold for over an hour. By far the worst company in existence. you would be better off getting insurance from some guy in a van down by the river... Useless. Useless useless

I have yet to spend less then an hour on hold. Garbage call service.

They denied my claim for a crown replacement because “ the X-ray was not clear enough”
