Over Hear and Play Music
Geschreven door het bedrijf
At Hear and Play Music and the Gospel Music Training Center, our passion is helping musicians worldwide unlock the art of playing the piano by ear. Founded in 2000 by Jermaine Griggs, we have dedicated decades to teaching the dynamic skill of understanding and interpreting music through ear training, music theory, and recognizing patterns. Our focus is on soulful music genres that best express this art form, including gospel, jazz, blues, soul, R&B, and pop.
We believe that playing by ear transcends traditional music learning methods, allowing musicians to experience and express music in a deeply personal way. Our specialized approach teaches students to hear recurring themes in songs and interpret them creatively on the piano.
Over the years, we have reached and serviced more than 2 million musicians through various platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, our email newsletter, free lessons, comprehensive paid courses, and a personalized coaching program. Our resources are designed to cater to learners at different stages of their musical journey, from beginners to advanced players.
Hear and Play Music and the Gospel Music Training Center is more than just a teaching platform; it's a community where musicians come together to share, learn, and celebrate the joy of music. Join us, and embark on a musical adventure that will transform the way you hear and play music.

Looking to take it to the next level
The contact with people wanting to become musicians were great through zoom. The videos with the founder that I see are awesome. I try to learn what I can through the videos, and I am able to play a few songs, but I want to be able to play more from feeling the music and enjoying the experience of music ministry rather than trying to memorize the chords and keystrokes

I Love Hear and Play
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I am truly enjoying my experience with Hear and Play Music! I love the coaches, the presentations, and the way the entire program is designed. It has given me confidence that I can learn how to play music again and continue developing my musical abilities.
Coach Brittany, Coach Tyler, and Dr. Onye make the classes interesting, encouraging, and enjoyable. Their enthusiasm for teaching makes me excited to learn and motivates me to keep going.
I am very enthusiastic about this program and eager to grow as a musician. Most importantly, my heart desires to learn to play God’s music and use the gift of music to worship, inspire, and bless others.
Thank you, Hear and Play Music, for helping me believe that I can play again!

Cautiously hopeful
I liked the introductory instructions. I did not like the heavy handed pressure to sign up for a prolonged contract. There was no indication of how much this was going to cost or what the money might cover or the terms of the contract More transparency would have been appreciated. I think most of us were willing to sign up without the pressure. This gave me pause but I am curioius to see what the terms are. I hope I won't be disappointed. At this point I do not know whether I would recommend this business or not.

Antwoord van Hear and Play Music
Hi Carolyn, thank you for the honest feedback — and I'm glad the introductory instruction was helpful.
You're right to want more clarity, and that's fair. To clarify: booking the free call itself is no-obligation, no commitment. We don't quote one flat price during the workshop because there are a few different paths (our self-paced platform, the Gospel Music Training Center, or our full coaching program with 40+ live class offerings per week), and the right fit and cost really depend on your goals. But that shouldn't have felt like pressure in the moment, and I'm sorry it did.
If you do hop on the call, ask every question you want about cost and terms before deciding anything — no rush on our end. And if you'd rather skip the call, just message us directly and we'll get you straight answers myself.
Thanks for staying with us the whole time — I hope the rest of the content was worth it for you.
