My sectional experience.

The assembly was easy enough, the construction is good, the fabric fit was a little difficult especially on the corner unit, love the color we picked. Customer service was good, delivery was longer than quoted!

So far my "experience" includes multiple/recurrent reminders to complete reviews for items I haven't received yet. Sample fabrics took longer to arrive than expected. We were charged $1 each and then as soon as SOON as they arrived the company started sending emails offering them for free. Waiting on the no-risk trial piece. Website is somewhat difficult to navigate in terms of quickly determining the difference in size of pieces ("deep" vs not deep vs "wide" vs not wide, plus which backs are interchangeable etc--everything that could have helped us select our piece more efficiently). Also one part of the website says "Within two weeks your trial piece will arrive" but after you order the message says "Your trial piece will ship in about two weeks." That's a big difference for an item undergoing ground transportation from one side of the country to another! It should also be made clearer that this furniture does not have legs at all. You have to literally read every word on the (convoluted) website to understand what you are getting. But we wanted American-made seating with storage, and it seems this company is it.

Comfort, customer service, and construction

First of all, we love the couch. It is the right amount of firmness, and for two over-6-feet people, the deep style keeps us feeling like we actually get our whole thighs on the couch. The only thing I would change is the back height (or attachable headrests - Home Reserve, add on idea!). Our dogs have also voted it 10/10, and the Retriever fabric is standing up to the muddy paws and digging when we aren't looking.
Construction took about 2 hours per sectional piece. The instructions were clear, and the only issue we had was piece 7 on one of the sectionals didn't have a deep enough notch. We used the sandpaper, and after 45 mins of sanding, it finally fit. Otherwise, everything else fit just fine!
Customer service ahead of buying the couch was great. We had a few questions about design and measurements, and they were super responsive and helpful. We have (no kidding) been saving for this couch for seven years, and we wanted to get it right - and they helped with that. Post order, I reached out twice for updates, but received no response. It ended up ok, but it would've been nice to hear back. Definitely download the app they recommend for tracking.

This company earned my trust

This company earned my trust. A free trial period was advertised, and it was truly free. Although it didn’t work out for us this time, we followed instructions provided for a hassle free return. I can say the things that really stand out are 1-excellent and prompt customer service 2-made in the USA 3-being able to receive swatches 4-easy assembly with clearly marked pieces.

Quick and easy

Quick and easy - a portion of my couch had separated. I took pictures and uploaded them. They contacted me and we determined which pieces were needed to correct this and prevent it from happening again. They mailed me the parts and links to make the changes. So easy!! Thank you.

Home Reserve has been great

Everyone I have interacted with from Home Reserve has been very friendly and helpful. My wife and I have had one of their sectionals for almost 10 years now and the frame is holding up well. I discovered that one of the wooden pieces on the arm rest frame and two of the gliders under it cracked when changing the fabric recently and Home Reserve is replacing them because of the warranty. We just replaced all of the old seat cushions, back pillows and fabric and are very happy with the results. I am expecting our sectional will many more years to come

We purchased a couch in 2023 and have regrets

We purchased a couch in 2023. Have had this unit for 3 years (order #758352). It has not held up. The warranty is for the frame. That’s the only thing besides the cut foam seats that have held up. We purchased the more durable fabric—- hasn’t held up. The foam inserts for the top of the frame. Have all caved in. We spent a premium price and were happy to support an American company. Have had longer lasting couch for 1/3 of the price. I’m not sure but I imagine it’s going to cost me near 1/2 what I initially paid for it to get new fabric, and foam inserts. Let alone the actual back cushion, which have all turned lumpy. Mid at best. Was good for about 6-8 months. Now 3 years in, I’m regretting. Should have got one from ikea.

One of the key benefits of Home Reserve furniture is that every component can be replaced individually, so customers never have to replace the entire couch if something wears over time. Replacement foam, fiber pillows, and other parts are available starting at about $45, making it possible to refresh specific pieces rather than purchasing a whole new sectional.

If you’re open to it, we’d be happy to take another look and help recommend the best path to refresh the pieces that may be bothering you most.

100s of pieces, uncomfortable, and very deceptive/hidden return policy

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Home Reserve, and I strongly regret purchasing from them.

First, their couches arrive in what feels like hundreds of pieces. I expected some assembly, but this was on another level entirely. The structure is largely made from OSB panels, and putting everything together was tedious, time-consuming, and far more complicated than advertised. By the time you finish assembling it, you’re already questioning whether the effort was worth it.

Unfortunately, the answer is no—because the couch is incredibly uncomfortable. Despite the marketing claims about quality and comfort, the seating feels stiff, cheap, and not something you’d actually want to relax on for any length of time.

But the worst part of this entire experience is the return policy. Home Reserve prominently advertises a 30 day return policy (minus 15 percent, plus you're responsible for reshipping cost) , which gives the impression that you can return the product if you’re unhappy. However, what they don’t make clear during the purchase process—especially when you’re building and customizing your couch—is that orders over $4,000 (i.e. most large sectionals) are exempt from that policy and have an absolute NO return policy. This critical detail is buried on the return policy page and is not disclosed on the configuration or checkout pages where customers actually make the buying decision. It feels intentionally hidden and incredibly misleading.

So you end up spending thousands of dollars on a couch that arrives as a pile of OSB parts, takes forever to assemble, turns out to be uncomfortable, and then discover you can’t return it because of a buried policy exception.

Overall, the experience felt deceptive and frustrating from start to finish. Between the poor comfort, excessive assembly, and the hidden return policy limitation, I would strongly recommend avoiding Home Reserve altogether.

Home Reserve has been designing and building modular furniture in Indiana for over 20 years. Our furniture ships flat-packed and is designed to be modular so it can fit through doorways, hallways, and staircases that traditional couches often cannot. That flexibility does require assembly, which can take some time depending on the layout.

Because comfort is very personal, this is exactly why we offer our No-Risk Trial Armless Unit before committing to a full sectional. This allows customers to try the style, cushions, and fabric in their home first. If it’s not the right fit, it can be returned for a full refund with Home Reserve covering shipping both ways. The trial option is highlighted on our sectional product pages, homepage, and in advertising.

Details of our return policies, including policies for larger custom sectionals, are outlined on our website and linked directly from our product pages so customers can review them before purchasing.

I originally received the wrong pieces, but my customer service representative Courtney was very helpful in making sure the correct pieces were quickly replaced. I love my sectional and would highly recommend Home Reserve. Wonderful customer service!

We love our couch

We love our couch. We’ve had it for years and recently added another piece and swapped out the fabric and it feels brand new. I also love that their customer service is so great that they noticed something in my order wasn’t quite right and proactively reached out to fix it before processing and sending the order. Customer Service was Great and Assembly was Easy

Received our boxes but during shipping a few pieces had been broken. Contacted customer service and worked with Abby to get the pieces replaced. She did a great job and kept in touch through the process.

The assembly is easy and there were no issues. Nobody should be intimidated about having to put ther units together.

Top Notch Product AND Customer Support

The couch is incredibly high quality but the customer service is why I will continue to return and recommend Home Reserve to everyone I know.

When I ordered the wrong size sectional piece (to add to an existing sectional I already own), they paused my order to confirm what I wanted before I caught my mistake.

When I ordered the wrong fabric, they immediately sent the correct fabric at no charge. When there was a delay, they notified me with a gift card and the option to choose a different fabric to proactively apologize for the inconvenience.

They offer a top notch product and it's clear their team stands behind it.

(And yes, I did order the wrong size frame AND fabric and somehow, they made it right for me faster and easier than I could have possibly dreamed)
